Fantastic experience: I had an incredible experience with Aleene at Fat Fugu! I originally went in for both a septum and an eyebrow piercing, but Aleene’s honesty and expertise really stood out. ​She took the time to explain the high rejection rate for eyebrow piercings—something I hadn't thought about when researching. Instead of just taking my money, she gave me the facts, which led me to decide against the eyebrow piercing for now. She was completely understanding and didn't pressure me at all, which I truly appreciated. ​As for my septum piercing, she was amazing—super fast and incredibly comforting throughout the whole process. I felt totally at ease in her chair. Huge shoutout to the reception team as well; the customer service from the moment I walked in was great. If you’re looking for a piercer who is professional, honest, and skilled, go see Aleene!

Negative experience: I went to this salon to get a tooth gem applied. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The gem fell off on the evening of the 7th day. I went back the next day to have it replaced, but I was told that the warranty had expired — it was only valid for 7 days. I find this completely inappropriate, especially considering that when I left the salon and asked how long the tooth gem would last, I was told around 2 months. I believe the information provided was misleading, and the warranty period is far too short for a service that is supposed to last longer. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: Decor was great and we had a coffee which was good and good price. Staff friendly and would recommend.

Negative experience: They charge by the day which is fine but then take lunch breaks up to 2 hours which is a big lump out of the day I’ve paid for. Great artist just poor work ethic.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had a few tattoos by Kris and he is an incredible artist, his work is so detailed and so much care goes into every piece I’ve had from him. He’s so gentle every tattoo has healed beautifully I cannot recommend him enough

Fantastic experience: I have just today finished off my half sleeve with Renee. Having only had 1 tattoo before which was drunk on a lads holiday I was fairly nervous about getting a tattoo. Not just Renee but the whole staff at FatFugu were very welcoming and helpful whenever I had any questions. As you can see from the photos I have uploaded Renee has done an amazing job (apologies for the last photo I have just taken that now). All of the ideas I spoke with Renee about were made and executed perfectly. Overall I can’t recommend FatFugu and Renee more.

Fantastic experience: I had been wanting to do a facial piercing for a really long time and Fat Fugu was the first place that friends recommended to me. I went in today for a walk-in. Niamh at the desk was lovely and spoke about the application process in a way that was easy to listen to and understand. Alleen in the piercing studio was an absolute gem. Also super easy to talk to and she was there hand and foot for every question I asked about the optimal healing process. My nose piercing turned out great! Additional points for cleanliness and great customer service. Keep it up!

Fantastic experience: Went out for some drinks with the boys just before Christmas to have some good old fun. Nice music, great drinks, service excellent. Just a good time and nice and relaxing. Good times see you all again soon.

Negative experience: Unfortunately, this tattoo place fell far below my expectations. I requested a cover-up with a clean, even line, just around my thumb - yet the result is patchy, uneven, and missing ink in several areas—as shown in the photos. I have attempted to arrange a correction with the studio, but I have not received any response since. For something that cost £100, this is extremely frustrating and unacceptable. I am really disappointed...

Fantastic experience: I first heard about this studio from a friend who had gone in to enquire about a piercing. Although she didn’t end up getting it for personal reasons, she mentioned how knowledgeable and polite the staff were, so I decided to give it a try. I came in for a tragus piercing, and this was my first visit. Upon walking in, I immediately noticed the beautiful interior décor; everything was clean, neat, and well-organised. I was greeted by a staff member who was bubbly, polite, and very helpful. She showed me jewellery options that would complement my ear and guided me through the sizes that would suit me best. After selecting my jewellery, I filled out the online consent form and was soon called upstairs for my piercing. My piercer, Allee, was just as lovely, friendly, reassuring, and easy to chat with. She explained each step of the process and made me feel completely at ease. The piercing itself was quick and smooth. Afterward, she walked me through the aftercare instructions and let me know when to return for my halfway check. When I headed back downstairs to pay, the staff were once again warm and enthusiastic. They asked what I had done and even complimented the piercing, which was a really nice touch. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience from start to finish. I’ll definitely be returning for any future piercings!

Negative experience: I dropped in recently for a simple tragus piercing. There were a couple of people at the desk so I started looking at the jewellery. I heard a loud hello so responded, and the person behind the desk glared at me (there were only 4 people there, guy behind the desk and two on the customer side) I still can’t work out what the issue was… I asked if they took walk in piercings and the guy responded “yes but not today, the piercer isn’t here” no follow up with what day. So I asked “so is tomorrow ok?” He responded “AFTER 11” I walked out and didn’t return. It’s a shame as I’d been looking to get a tattoo by Alex but I was deliberately made to feel unwelcome, I wouldn’t be comfortable going back. If you want a piercing, whatever you do, don’t go in on a Monday.

Fantastic experience: Visited here for the first time to get my first ever tattoo. All the staff were very polite and welcoming. Definitely go out of their way to help and support. Plus I now have a cute little tattoo and will definitely be returning.

Fantastic experience: My second visit to see Kris at the collective and absolutely delighted with the results. Kris was really great, as are all the staff, he was helpful and informative and genuinely interested in the designs I brought to him. He transferred them to my forearms expertly and precisely, just how I'd visualised them and was creative in making enhancements that I happily accepted. I'm really glad I went to Fat Fugu Collective and wouldn't go to anywhere else. The prices are very reasonable compared with other people I've spoken with. My wife's turn now, she loved my tattoos and will be soon visiting for her own.

Negative experience: absolutely AWFUL and not just on one occasion. I’ve had most of my piercings done here, hopeful thinking being the only thing that’s kept me going. however i could not have been more wrong each time. the most recent incident being a few months ago. bravely, i decided to get my nipples pierced. my piercer COMPLETELY missed the markings, going way too deep and also crooked. the exit end of the piercing being a a whole 3 centimetres higher than the entry side. Aleen also had the audacity to offer me a lollipop after my piercing as if nothing was even wrong. this ruined my confidence and i have been hesitant to get any new piercings since in fear something like this will happen again. Aleen has also previously pierced my double nostrils, again making them severely uneven. no countdown or breath count was given either so i remember almost fainting. she was piercing me with no warning or preparation. i will absolutely not be going back here after 4 BOTCHED piercings. Given Aleen’s decade of experience i was severely disappointed, especially after i paid a lot of money and had to work up the courage to go. It is evident she has no idea what she is doing.

Fantastic experience: I had Kris this evening who did a small tattoo for me. This is my first tattoo and I was VERY nervous. Kris is such a soothing, calming presence. He listened to my indecisions, allowed me to share what my worries were and he offered his opinion, knowledge and experience to help me make the best decision for me. If you need a gentle hand (pun intended) and someone who will make you feel at ease then Kris is your guy. The other staff I interacted with are all lovely and friendly, and seemed genuinely happy for me for going for it! Thank you everyone.

Fantastic experience: I loved it! I had my very first piercing today, and oh my god it was really quick and didn't even hurt! - I can't remember her name but I spoke to Aleen at the desk and she was super welcoming, happy and informative, she talked me through the form and sent me to the upstairs part to have it done! The lady who did it has been doing it for 15+ years and you can tell! She's really good! Fantastic experience: On my last visit the reception team were very helpful the day before booking me in the next day so quickly. very professional and polite and my latest visit (tomorrow) I have again received such great service getting booked in and especially Alex who will be tattooing me. He took time out of his evening to message me direct making sure I was happy with the design for on the day. Easily the most professional and best place for amazing customer service and amazing tattoos!

Fantastic experience: I spent two days at Fat Fugu getting a half sleeve from their guest artist Edgar and i’m still speechless. Mind blown in fact. I’ve been to many tattoo shops in my time however Fat Fugu took customer care and satisfaction to a whole other level! Every member of staff were warm, welcoming and very accommodating - can’t recommend them enough! The shop is also extremely cool, loads of space and a really cool bar downstairs. Will definitely be back soon for more ink and a good laugh! Thank you Edgar and thank you Fat Fugu!

Fantastic experience: I went earlier today to get my first tattoo and i’m so glad I chose fat fugu, yes, they may be a bit pricey but it’s worth it!! i’m in love with the final product and I had erkan as my artist and he was amazing! the receptionist was also lovely

Fantastic experience: I went in go have my navel pierced and Aleen was so lovely, there was a range of different jewellery that you could start with. I was unhappy with the placement of my piercing and was rightfully worried to go back and bring it up because I’m generally a very anxious person however she was happy to repierce me, no matter who pierces you everybody will make a mistake at some point and I think its relieving to know that if you’re unhappy with your piercing, you can have it resolved without feeling nervous, finally theres a lovelyyy atmosphere to Fat Fugu and I will definitely come back here for any other piercings in future<3

Fantastic experience: I didn’t know what to expect for my first tattoo. My first visit put me at ease and I was advised Mira would be the artist for me. When the appointment was made, Mira understood exactly what I wanted and created a wonderful design. I love the results and tempted to get another

Negative experience: Don’t normally write reviews but been let down for over a month now trying to get an appointment organised since 10th February. I’ve been following fatfugu for years as it’s somewhere I had always been impressed by. I contacted with all the photos and details and was told they’d love to help and to contact mira to book in for a consultation. Sent as much detail again as I could and was never hearing back. Sent fatfugu several messages to chase up and they said they would let her know. Mira then posted screenshots of my messages on her instagram story rather than getting in contact with me that her instagram messages were down. This was fine until I was asked to contact her on WhatsApp instead but yet again have been left on read for a week whilst seeing her upload dates available for booking. It was a shame as this was an artist I would have loved to have worked on my tattoo, but waiting all this time just for a consultation is rude and ridiculous, I’ve had plenty tattoos done and not had this struggle before. I’ve thankfully found another award winning artist who has been lovely and I’m booked in already for May

Fantastic experience: i came to fat fugu for my first tattoo as soon as me and my friend walked through the door we were greeted by mia and she was so lovely and welcoming she had calmed my nerves about the pain. i was tattooed by kris who was also very welcoming, he had played around with the tattoo inspo i had sent which i loved and ended up with his design, kris would often check up with how i was feeling, at one point i mentioned being cold and kris had set up the heater for me

Fantastic experience: I visited yesterday for an eyebrow piercing, which I’ve wanted for a long time! I saw Aleen who was incredible, talked me through the piercing, the risks (rejection), how to care for it etc. it was almost pain free! Just a slight pinch. As I expressed on Instagram, Aleen and Fat Fugus are a breath of fresh air when it comes to expertise and professionalism, whilst being of this standard everyone is so kind and welcoming. The girls who greeted me on the reception desk were so sweet, felt like I already knew them! And the bar is just a bonus I recommend to anyone I struggle to understand how anyone could not recommend Fat Fugus!- Picture of me (not very convincingly but I promise) happy a few hours after getting my new eyebrow piercing! I love it

Fantastic experience: Very very lovely place. Met Mia when me and my friend walked in. She was super lovely and helped calm my friends nerves about getting her first tattoo. They also allow a person to come in with the client. Kris was the tattoo artist. He was really nice and experiment with the original tattoo which my friend loved. The tattoo process was really fun with jokes and occasional check ups on how she is feeling and if she likes the tattoo. Overall really amazing place to get a tattoo especially for the first time. Definitely recommend. Thank you to Mia and Kris for being an amazing first experience and being so lovely.

The staff were welcoming, professional, and made sure I felt completely comfortable throughout the entire process. The tattoo artist took the time to discuss the design with me, offering great suggestions, and the piercing specialist was incredibly gentle, making the experience smooth and painless. Fantastic experience: Great Piercing Experience! I had my forward helix and anti-helix piercings done at Fat Fugu today, and overall, it was a great experience. The girls at the front desk were lovely and welcoming. I waited about 20 minutes for my appointment as I was third on the list, but the friendly atmosphere and the café made the wait enjoyable. It was nice to grab a coffee while waiting—it’s a great touch! The piercer was fantastic—very professional, knowledgeable, and patient. She gave me excellent advice on the best placement for my piercings, and we had a good chat about piercing options. The only downside was the limited jewellery selection. The display at the entrance looked a bit empty, so it would be great if the stock was replenished to give customers more choices without paying extra. I paid £80 for two piercings with my chosen jewellery, but a wider selection would improve the experience even more. Overall, I had a positive experience, and I’d recommend Fat Fugu for anyone considering a piercing!

Fantastic experience: Aileen pierced me and my friends for snakebites, helix, lip and daith. And it was over really quickly and she was so lovely about it and we are all really happy how they came out, the staff who work there are so friendly and welcoming.

Obv' now the time was right, I found Mira at Fat Fugu, and she is just an amazing artist, and so lovely to get along with. As are all the staff and artists. Maybe you're looking to get your first tattoo and feel a bit intimidated by the thought of going to a tattoo studio! Don't be, everyone at FF are incredibly friendly and helpful. And if you're after more ink, then absolutely give them a check out! Definitely 5 Stars

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing experience with Aleen for a halloween ear build! I had multiple piercings in 1 sitting and it is the least amount of pain i’ve been in with getting a piercing. Such a gentle piercer and before you know it, the jewellery is already in. This was my first experience with her and I definitely recommend!

Negative experience: Be careful ⛔️if you wanna get tattoo don’t in this place they just think about money they don’t care about customers skin poor tattoo artist they are good in Photoshop. Don't be fooled Because when they take the money from you, they don't care about you and are not responsible for their work

I have been tattooed by Renee, Adem and Mira and love all my pieces done at the studio. Have also been pierced for years by Aleen who always recommends pretty pieces and placements for piercings, couldn't recommend enough :)

Negative experience: Had this tattoo around start of June for early Father’s Day present, I was charged £120 which I thaught was steep tbh, but it was a Father’s Day present and it was designed specifically for me and they even offered a touch up after 4 weeks. I came back after 4 weeks to book back in and have a touch up, with Renee. On the day I was already on my way into town, when I got a phone call to say Renee was ill and would need to reschedule. After speaking on the phone it was agreed I could arrived anyway as I was already close and the lady would try to fit me in. After a few minutes of her trying there was no one she could find and I went on my , after discussing that Renee would contact soon when she is back and rescheduling any appointments she missed. This was the 6th of August and I have still to receive a call from anyone at fat fugu to apologise or re schedule my appointment. Unfortunately my experience with fat fugu has not been a great one. I have a fairly decent tattoo to show for my £120 but service afterwards was basically non existent. I will not be returning here.

Fantastic experience: I've done it again!! Went in for one new piercing and ended up getting two!! Aleen, you're a sneaky one, but I love you!! Pls, if you're considering a piercing, don't go anywhere else!

Positive experience: I tried to buy a voucher and after many emails and unanswered calls I still don’t have one. Very strange set up for buying vouchers and I still don’t understand how to get one! Too late now

Fantastic experience: Love it here. Great atmosphere, lovely staff. All very happy to chat and advise on piercings, placement and options and offer great follow up service. I've had multiple piercings, as has my daughter. Only ever one issue and they sorted it immediately with no quibble. It's cash only which I love, too!

Negative experience: Very unprofessional customer service on reception. They seem like having they own fun that's not related to work. Think they better off focus on messages. Understand now why have to wait so long to make them get back to me. End up always booking in through artist

Fantastic experience: Had my first tattoo in 17 years with Alex here. I went through his gallery on the site before deciding to go with Alex. Awesome work. I’d thought of what I wanted years ago and booked in for a day session, sent the pics over and waited. Alex tried to contact me on instagram to ask me about my design but I don’t really know how insta works so missed the message. No problem though, I arrived for my appointment and Alex had two designs ready. Picked the one I preferred and it’s amazing. All healed now and to say Alex “nailed the brief” is an understatement. Looks even better than I’d thought of. I’m going back for sure.

Negative experience: Went in to inquire about a tatoo gave a pic and was told I would be contacted with a date and price. Waited a week didn't hear anything so called and got told the designs had been sent to the artists and I would be contacted in the next few days. Waited another week and heard nothing so went in person. Was waiting at reception as someone in front of me. Wasn't acknowledged at all by the two members of staff there. They fi ished with the customer and then walked away. Again without acknowledgement of me. Think I'm going to go somewhere else...

Fantastic experience: I went here the other day to get my lobes pierced and it was actually more bearable than I thought. The employees were proper nice too

Fantastic experience: We're really helpful and througher. Even was a very small design was not rushed and was made to feel that everything was right before starting. Good after care advice. Great spot had drinks and a great table and chare area.

Fantastic experience: Had a fantastic experience. Got tattooed with Klara, one of the best anime artists I've come across. I got a custom Luna tattoo with adapted colours as my skin doesn't react well to purple. Brilliant artist, gentle, works in good time but doesn't rush. Sweet and pleasant to be around. Finished in two sessions, had to rearrange one and had no problem doing so. Responsive on Instagram and sent texts through recommending how to be prepared for sessions and best places to park nearby. All staff I spoke to were lovely and approachable. Coffees are very tasty too! Really pleased and will be back for further work. Photo credit to Klara herself

Fantastic experience: I wish to say thank you for Fat Fugu, that even smalls tattoos are important. I had appointment with Klara, she was very professional, and supportive. Fully recommended.

Negative experience: Very poor contact with the study. They do not respond , to messages sent by e-mail. The entry fee for the tattoo , was not returned, even though I wrote messages three times, with a request to change the tattoo artist, five days, before the deadline. I do not recommend!!!

Fantastic experience: Went here to get my 6 year old daughter and 9 year old sons ears pierced. I have to say a very professional and friendly service! The lady at the desk was lovely and Aleen who did the piercings was fantastic with my children I 100% recommend this place. My six year old even mentioned after we left how nice everyone was.

Positive experience: Staff were fantastic. They were very patient with my 13-year-old who was very nervous about getting her ears pierced for the first time, and she wondered what all the fuss was all about when it was done. Lost a star for running about 25 minutes late for our appointment, but that could be seen as a positive, as they took their time for each customer.

Positive experience: Lovely tattoists who are extremely talented and make fantastic pieces of art. Friendly atmosphere. Very expensive and will charge you £200 just for the deposit. Had to pay in full twice to have my tattoo done over two different appointments because I couldn't finish it in a day. Nearly fainted with my second tattoo and staff took 30 minutes to get me some water and something to increase my blood sugars. Very happy with both my tattoos however, positive experience but let down in some areas.

Negative experience: I came to this shop to have my neck done to get nice tattoo that’s why I paid for two sessions £900 each to get nice tattoo I’m not happy about my tattoo it’s very black and I asked for somthink else they did completely different designs and when contacted them about complaint they told me I had to pay £900 for another session this is not right I’m am not happy about this experience at this shop I hope you can sort this out for me !

Fantastic experience: I recently had two tattoo day sessions with Ren at the studio she is an amazing artist and I’m so happy with my new tattoos. Everyone at the studio is so friendly and the service is brilliant. I highly recommend!
