True Colours Tattoo & Piercing Studio

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to True Colours for around 4 years so I am the worst customer ever for not posting a review about how absolutely amazing this studio and all the artists are until now I have had over 50 piercings here and tattoos from every artist that works here. Whatever style you are thinking there is an artist here for you. The studio is the most welcoming place, the shop manager is an absolute sweetheart and is able to advise on your tattoo ideas and recommend the right artist for you. Crystal is an amazing princess and her piercing room is the cutest place to get pierced. I will confess to being slightly biased as she has become my absolute best friend, but honestly she takes so much time making sure the placement is right and that you're happy with everything. My only complaint would be that you can't come here if you are wanting just 1 tattoo or piercing because I promise once you've met the team here you'll be back for more. They also stock amazing tattoo aftercare by the brand Cool Soothe which is all I now use.

Fantastic experience: The staff here are so welcoming and friendly. Had my 1st tattoo from true colours years ago and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Each artist has their niche so whatever tattoo you want they'll have someone for the job. The tattoos themselves are so good, all you've got to do is look on google and see for yourself. 100% would recommend if you're looking to get a high quality tattoo or piercings.

Fantastic experience: Got my side labret and anti eyebrow done yesterday with Crystal :3 She was so amazing, warm and welcoming, the vibe and aura was so calming and the piercings were quick and practically painless. It was such an amazing experience and she was so informative and helpful, I'd go again and again if i could! :3

Fantastic experience: Now now, I have been to true colours for many many things over the years, the sweet company the amazing atmosphere and the pure talented people! I have always been given the right advice and information with every visit. All of my piercings have been done by Crystal who I can not fault in anyway, beautiful human! And I have been tattooed by both Benj and Joanna and a few guest artists. Today was special as Benj made the time and effort to tattoo my dad brother and myself as a special treat for my dad's visit from Oz. I am beyond thankful to Paul and the whole team for always making me feel welcome. I can't recommend the studio more if I tried. Just absolute awesome sauce!

Fantastic experience: I had my nose pierced by Jason in March this year. He took time to get the correct positioning for the piercing as I wanted to have a ring once the piercing had fully healed. The procedure and after care were explained really well, and Jason took the time to answer any questions I had. I went back for a down size in May and finally a nose ring fitting in September all carried out by Jason. The ring sits perfectly. I would 100% recommend True colours if you want a piercing.

Fantastic experience: I got my first tattoo with Ross today and absolutely loving it, he's been understanding of my medical condition (epilepsy) and took his time letting my have breaks in between. He's friendly and chatty as well as understanding, I love his sense of humour as well as him mentioning old cartoons. His line work is clean, and colouring is consistent as he specialises in cartoon style tattoos.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming here for just over a year they have done all of piercings and tattoos including my family members every single team member here is extremely welcoming, understanding, patient and perfect with their work, every person I have introduced to this place has agreed with me, I will continue coming here.

Negative experience: This is review of communication only, not skill of artists. I spoke to Paul on the phone, asked about pricing for tattoo - cover up, half sleeve, colors. He said between 350-500, but to send photo via email. Once he saw it, he said sorry, it will be 600-1200 as cover ups are harder to do, and the design wouldn't work. Fair enough. I was happy for the advice. The email trail after that was: Me: I see, ok, can you then quote me for the other arm, clean, not cover up Paul: I think we could make the design work if we tweaked it Me: Sorry it is still out of my budget, can you give me a quote for a clean tattoo? Paul: - no response- Me: follow up? Paul: sorry, that was a fair price quoted Me: ok, sure, but that's a quote for a cover up can you quote me clean tattoo? Paul: - no response- At this point I called to try to clear up confusion. On the phone he said: ah, yeah, I didn't read the emails properly, I just saw push back on the price, ill read them properly and reply. And he never did. At this point I will go elsewhere, this doesn't inspire confidence in the place.

Fantastic experience: Got my first tattoo here recently, after seeing Babymetal earlier this year I enquired about a tattoo based on the show. I spent some time with Reece on the design beforehand and then had 2 sessions with him to complete the tattoo. The experience with the team at true colours was brilliant throughout, very welcoming and enjoyable place, Reece was great to work with and we got on really well. Very happy with how the tattoo turned out and will be returning for more soon

Fantastic experience: Decided to get pierced while on holiday with my sister to celebrate my birthday. We originally came in with a different idea, but due to my anatomy we went with a pair of lobe piercings on me and a tragus on my sister. I appreciated that they explained the piercer who handles the more complicated stuff was on holiday so we went with something different! Very good vibes from the staff behind the counter. Studio was clean and so vibrant and fun! Piercer was lovely, seriously so sweet. My sister will definitely becoming again soon! Also got to grab a super cute photo!

Fantastic experience: What A Find! Highly recommend this place I took my daughter, aged 14 there today to have her ears pierced for the first time. Fantastic experience: I went today to get a new piercing with my sister and friend. Crystal was so helpful, friendly and took to the time to explain placements, answer any questions and ensured we were happy with our decisions. She was so welcoming and created a really calming and comfortable environment. Crystal thoroughly explained the aftercare required and organised to see us in a few weeks for a check-up. Fantastic experience: The ONLY place I will ever let near me for tattoos. Pauly is a fantastic and lovely fella. Can't do enough to make you feel welcome. Super clean, organised and a great vibe. Now onto Ross my artist. We're almost complete on a full sleeve and I can honestly say he's one of the most influencial people I've ever met in my life. He's SO TALENTED, precise, experienced and his work speaks for itself. It's been an absolute joy to spend so much time with him. His creativity has taken my basic ideas onto new levels and he's such a great person to be around. He makes you feel super comfortable, always communicates what he's doing, looks after you and your skin and all the time he's working his demeanor and personality makes the experience special. Fantastic experience: I had my nose pierced here 2 days ago by crystal and had a great experience! Everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming, and the place itself is spotless with a great atmosphere. My piercer, crystal was extremely professional, taking the time to help me pick out my jewellery and explain everything, including the aftercare in detail, and the piercing itself looks perfect.

Fantastic experience: I got a surface tragus done by Crystal a few weeks ago now. The piercing process itself was great, minimal pain, she talked me through each step (and said sorry a lot) and it’s been healing perfectly! No problems with it whatsoever. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: So I took my niece to get her second lobe piercing at the beginning of the week. Jason was lovely and very funny. Made her feel very at ease. I found myself back on Wednesday with my daughter. As her mother, of course i had to go first. Crystal was very sweet, and professional. It turned out my little one wasn't ready and got a little upset, but Crystal was very comforting and told her it was no big deal. We'll be back to try again next year. The service, and prices are worth every penny, and are very competitive . The end results are piercings that heal beautifully. Using only high quality needles, which ensures a fantastic end result, and is far less painful. They have exceptional knowledge in piercing aftercare, making sure any piercing is well taken care of, and that the client understands how to practice good aftercare. Crystal has an incredible talent in knowing exactly the piece of jewellery that a client will love, and that best suits them. She really does "Enhance a person's beauty." The amount of compliments I receive from the beautiful piercings, and jewellery, really does boost my confidence.

Fantastic experience: Great first tattoo experience. I sent the original design idea and Paul booked me in with Reece. My girlfriend's considering getting inked herself and they were more than happy for her to come along. On the day Reece presented some variations on the original (more serious) design. We spent a little bit of time talking through different versions and sizes. Reece was very helpful without being at all pushy. The session itself was fun, Reece was interesting to talk to and more than happy to answer questions about aftercare etc. I couldn't be happier with the artwork itself. It cost £170, which feels more than fair for what it was. Couldn't recommend more.

Fantastic experience: Had my first ever tattoos at True Colours yesterday and I am so impressed. Firstly, Paul who runs the place is such a lovely bloke and was so helpful. He looked at the designs I wanted and immediately recommended Reese as he specializes in line work. I was a bit nervous, but the whole experience was just fantastic. Reese was just great and I had such a laugh with him the 3 hours just flew by. His work is so precise and clean and the results were outstanding. I cannot recommend True Colours highly enough. Fantastic experience: Amazing staff and service, I had my Daith and tragus pierced here. Crystal was amazing and checked that I could have the piercings by checking my ears. I’d had a tragus piercing years previous ( at somewhere else) and wasn’t sure if I could get the same side done again. Very experienced and professional, clean sterile environment. Pauly the manager is so welcoming and friendly and they all go above and beyond. I’ve had my piercing jewellery changed now and got to look at all the pieces and given advice on what ones will fit. Amazing after care advice after piercings and if you are unsure of anything or need advice with healing they will help with any questions! This place is amazing, couldn’t recommend enough, I shall be definitely getting a few more piercings and going to true colours!

Fantastic experience: I came in on the off chance that the on site piercer would be able to repierce my nipples after an incident that occurred where both were unfortunately torn out. I had spotted the shop from Preston high street walking down and thought the branding was fantastic. This was thankfully possible and the piercer made this happen in an incredibly timely manner.

Fantastic experience: I came into true colours today really worried- I wanted my conch pierced but after an awful piercing experience (somewhere else) and me fainting I was so scared !!! My hands were clammy and I was shaking! I came in and addressed my fears and Paul and the piercer (I forgot his name! But he was amazing!!!) put my mind at ease ! Not only was he so so lovely but he pieced my conch and there was very little pain! He talked me through everything, was so open with pricing and when I asked for him to change jewellery to one of my other piercings he didn’t just say ‘okay’ and take my money, he sat and explained why I needed to wait a little longer due to some of it being swollen still. I cannot recommend this place enough as a young girl who was terrified walking in! I walked away so so happy and in amazing spirits! I spend ages there and wasn’t rushed at all!!! These people actually CARE and don’t just want your money! I never really write reviews but this one was needed !! Thanks again guys! I’ll be back again!

Fantastic experience: Just leaving you lovely guys a review! So I’ve been and had two nipple piercings and a tattoo done under my boobs in recent weeks, and I just want to say how professional and great your staff are. I came in for my first nipple piercing and cristal said “you’ll be back” there was no pressure but she knew two days later i was back having the 2nd one done, she was so professional and knew everything, when i said I wanted gold bars in she offered advice and then sourced exactly what i wanted calling me back when they were in. So professional and absolutely no embarrassment at one point I realised we were just chatting with my boobs out ha! From this first meeting I sorted out a tattoo I have wanted for ages, I’ve been to other parlours and they were so dismissive of my idea and tried to change it despite it being such a personal idea Ross Immitis_tabula_rasa took my idea and gave me a free consultation and booked me in for a 5 hrs sitting, he was a true gentleman and so accommodating and polite despite the fact I had my boobs out mid tattoo room! I can’t say how professional and how at ease this guys make you from meeting Paul on the front desk to Cristal to Ross, and the other guy with a pony tail haha so lovely and kind! Fantastic experience: It's 4 weeks since my cover-up/reworking and although I've had several tattoos, the whole experience at True Colours comes out on top. From first emailing Paul about my design to the day itself, I felt cared for, comfortable and respected every step of the way. Ross, my artist on the day, did God's work. He took a botched tattoo I got in Berlin and transformed it into something brilliant. Can't recommend them enough. I will be back for a Feathers McGraw at some point. No doubt this is the best place in Preston to get a tattoo!

All the staff were all incredibly welcoming and very professional. Crystal is an absolute pro, reassuring, and probably part magician because somehow, in the span of a deep breath and a questioning my life choices, it was over. Crystal gave us thorough aftercare instructions and sent us on our way. I am now 200% cooler and with the chest confidence of a Greek god. If you’re on the fence about getting pierced, just do it. If you’re looking for the best place to do it, this is the one. 10/10 would get stabbed here again. Xxx

Fantastic experience: I just got my belly button pierced by Crystal and cannot recommend her enough! I have a really awkward shaped navel and do not think any other piercer would have taken the time, precaution, and readjustments to make it work like she did.

Fantastic experience: I've had many tattoos but first time using True colours. The customer service is top notch! Justin did my tattoo, he went through my design with me to double check everything and then printed several sizes as I was not too sure which size I wanted. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff at True colours. My wife & I (same sex couple) were made to feel very welcome and we booked in for our next tattoos before we left! Fantastic experience: I recently had my dermal piercing removed, and I was surprised at how quick and painless the process was! I was a bit nervous beforehand, but Lucy was super professional and made me feel comfortable the whole time. The removal was over in just a few minutes with minimal discomfort. Healing has been smooth so far, and I’m happy with how it looks. If you’re considering getting a dermal removed, don’t stress — it’s easier than you think!

Fantastic experience: I had a tattoo today done by Justin. It was a very emotional process for me, involving my mums writing who had passed away. I can honestly only say good things about the parlour. Every single person I met were so welcoming and made me feel so at ease, it was like being with friends. From when I first walked in to when I left nearly 5 hours later I was well looked after and made to feel really comfortable. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming, the place itself was so clean . Justin was great , chatted about my tattoos before he started and answered any questions I had . Had tv’s to watch but spent most of the time talking. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a tattoo to be done .

Fantastic experience: I've become somewhat of a regular at True Colours in recent years for both tattoos and piercings. The whole team are incredible people and create such an amazingly warm atmosphere. As someone who is both openly queer, trans and neurodivergent, I can find it tricky to feel comfortable in public spaces, but the team are incredibly accepting and supportive, making me feel welcome and comfortable at all times. I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for piercings, awesome new piercing jewellery or incredible tattoos!!

Fantastic experience: Got a relatively daunting piercing today and this was my first time going to this shop - staff were absolutely amazing and so friendly, super professional and crystal was super amazing with me - spoke me through aftercare and what was normal for my piercing and the piercing itself wasnt even too bad. Fantastic experience: Visited True Colours for the first time on 4th January for my second tattoo, my wife had given me a voucher for my birthday last year - I spoke to Pauly over phone and email and used my voucher as a deposit. Once he knew the style and placement of tattoo I wanted, he recommended Justin be my artist. On the day, Justin was amazing, confirming what I liked out of the reference pictures I'd provided and gave several options for size to ensure I was happy with how big and the placement. Throughout he ensured I was comfortable and we chatted and at the end he gave me advice on how to care for the tattoo. I have left with an amazing tattoo that I love - I'm intending to eventually incorporate this into a sleeve and will definitely be back.

Fantastic experience: I had a tattoo done here by Ross and it was a very special tattoo for me and he just took such good care of it as he knew what it meant to me, I'm absolutely in love with my tattoo! The staff here are all out of this world the kindest and coolest people I've ever met! Fantastic experience: I went to true colours to get a few ear piercings and couldn’t be happier. Every single one of the staff members were friendly & helpful, which just immediately put me at ease. The two ladies who helped me pick out my jewellery and then did the piercings were fabulous, so kind and professional, I immediately knew I was in good hands. Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing could not recommend enough. I came in over the weekend to get a tattoo done on my lower back by Joanna and I genuinely could not be happier. To start off all the staff were so welcoming when I first walked in and I felt very safe and comfortable. This was my first longer session (took around 3/4 hours) and I was worried about being annoying for taking too many breaks but Joanna made me feel so comfortable and took my worries away. The tattoo is of amazing quality and it made me very happy when all the staff asked to see it and absolutely loved it too. To make a long story short this place is absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to see Joanna again for yet another tattoo.

Fantastic experience: I went to True colours for a few piercings, they had a brilliant Black Friday offer on for £10 a piercing, they had also requested 2 non perishable items. The items were for charity, which I thought was absolutely fantastic that they were giving back to the community for a good cause. It can be quite daunting to get a new tattoo or piercing for some, but as soon as I entered I was greeted with a friendly hello and smile. It was very busy but, well organised. The team also offered chocolates and cupcakes to everyone:) which was nice. I chatted with the friendly gentlemen in the reception area. I got my piercings done by the gorgeous Crystal, she was amazing. Crystal really took her time to get my placements right despite the busy queue and gave me some recommendations, we chatted about jewellery as well, she was so calm and comforted me with the piercing process. I wish I had gone to True colours a while ago, I will be back! :) overall I had such a good experience.

Fantastic experience: I popped in last week on my lunch break for ear piercing, less than a 5 minute wait and the team took time to help me pick out the right earrings. I told them I was anxious after a bad experience previously and they couldn’t have been any more accommodating, talked me through everything and kept me calm. Looking back now I was definitely just being a wimp because I barely felt a thing!

Fantastic experience: Everyone is so friendly and welcoming I want more tattoos just to hang out with the staff more. I will most definitely be coming back. Justin was my artist and what a great guy, the time and care he put into my tattoo was second to none. For the 14 hours I was there over the 2 sessions was a barrel of laughs. Fantastic experience: I went there today to fix a crooked septum I did somewhere else. Crystal was so professional and understanding, she cleaned the surface, assessed the area, took the measurements and did it right. It was painless and such a nice experience. Fantastic experience: From booking right through to the actual day, the experience with the team at True Colours has been amazing. Paul made me feel so welcome and looked at the tattoo I needed covering up, we discussed what I wanted and he organised my day with Reece. I was a little nervous on the day, it’s been a while since I had a tattoo done, but everyone in the studio went out of their way to make me comfortable and calm my nerves. Reece did my tattoo - he doesn’t normally do cover ups but had seen what I needed and agreed it was possible. I gave him free rein with the design and colours as I love his work and the end result is better than I could have ever imagined. The process was almost painless, the studio surroundings are lovely, and considering I was there 6 hours it’s remarkable that Reece and I never ran out of things to chat about! I love the end result, and will be having more. Thank you so much True Colours for making this happen for me xx

Fantastic experience: Had my first tattoo session with True Colours a few weeks ago. Felt very welcome from the moment I walked in, the customer service and hospitality is outstanding! Very friendly staff and had a great laugh with Paul while in the waiting room. Really good with explaining the whole process from start to finish and with the after care of the tattoo. Reece who was my tattoo artist was amazing! Felt very comfortable with the entire tattoo process and was a great person to meet. The tattoo has healed perfectly and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. These guys are very professional and cannot recommend them enough. 10/10! Can't wait to get the next one with them

Fantastic experience: I first came to get tattoos with Justin, which are amazing and I love them! And then I came back to get a piercing, and I will definitely be coming back to get more. Fantastic experience: Everyone here is absolutely amazing. While i was sat waiting for Joanna to finish my design, paul and Crystal were so lovely, making me feel welcomed and a lot less nervous as this was my first tattoo. I had communicated with paul a few times over email, and he was more than helpful even though i had what felt like a thousand questions. Joanna is amazing, as an artist and a person. She was very gentle, and her design was exactly what i asked for. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. 10/10 will 100% recommend.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this place! Everyone is so friendly. I’ve had all my ear piercings done here & I got my first tattoo today as well. They helped me to design exactly what I wanted, were super helpful and are just genuinely love people. I got my tattoo done with Reece who was amazing and an absolute perfectionist too. The whole experience from start to finish was really positive, but then it always has been every time I’ve come here! 100% recommend

Fantastic experience: Superb! Extremely helpful, friendly and professional. Took my daughter for belly button piercing which was done with Lucy. Couldn't rate her highly enough. Very professional, reassuring and covered all the after care stuff very thoroughly. Insisted on us going back after 4 to 6 weeks for a check on healing progress etc so a place that also cares how you are after the treatment and not just on the day. Highly recommended place. (Can only comment on piercing).

Fantastic experience: We visiting Preston and were given the recommendation of going to True Colours for Walk in Piercing services. We were so glad we took this advice! As soon as we walked in, our reception was fantastic. The customer service was second to none. We were nervous however were met with kindness. Jason did our piercings and throughout the whole process he communicated very clearly what he was doing and kept us calm and reassured with his kind attitude and good humour. The quality was exceptional and we’d definitely recommend this studio for anyone feeling nervous.

Fantastic experience: I got a token for my birthday to go towards my first tattoo at True Colours. I went into the shop to book my appointment, Paul was so welcoming, we discussed what I wanted and he suggested I got ideas to him by email. Over the next few days I came up with my idea and sent it. I was booked in with Reece on the day, Reece was able to convert my ideas into a workable tattoo template. Reece was amazing, totally put me at ease for my first tattoo, we chatted away whilst Reece worked his magic on my leg. I found having the tattoo was a mild discomfort, but the time flew by. Reece gave me tips on how to look after the tattoo during the healing process. I can't emphasis enough how relaxed I felt at True Colours, everyone is so friendly and professional. I will certainly be returning and would recommend anyone wanting to have a tattoo, do it, it is liberating.

Fantastic experience: Can't thank Benji and the team enough. Ended up with a fantastic tattoo, surpassed the expectations in my head. From being welcomed to the shop, communication from Pauley and the design and finished article from Benji I could not have asked for more. I took my time to research and booked this a few months in advance, this was definitely worth the wait. I'd advise anyone to be patient and wait for the right artist, they are busy for a reason!

Fantastic experience: Had my nostrils pierced twice, my septum pierced and my lip done by crystal, and I’ve had my belly button and nipples done by Lucy, both are incredible and have done everything to make me feel comfortable (I’m terrified of needles ) I wouldn’t go anywhere else now, always very professional and kind and always talk me through exactly how to look after whatever I’m getting done. All the staff are lovely and i couldn’t recommend the place enough:)

Fantastic experience: Got my first tattoo done by Johanna who did an absolutely amazing job, I could not be happier with it. I was incredibly nervous going in but Joanna, Paul and the rest of the team made me feel so at ease. Every time I needed a quick break to stretch by legs they would all check in to see how it was going and gave lots of compliments which was absolutely lovely. I'll definitely be returning when I've decided on my next tattoo and I've been recommending True Colours to all of my friends wanting their first. Thanks again guys!

Fantastic experience: I had such a lovely experience getting my nose pierced yesterday. I’ve had some not so great experiences in the past at other studios but everyone here was so friendly and kind. They were up front about the cost of jewellery, Lucy explained everything well and put a lot of effort in matching up my new nose piercing with the one on the other side. Fantastic experience: I had my dogs paw print tattooed today by Justin. The staff here are all amazingly friendly. I have anxiety and was a bit nervous. I was made to feel so welcome and I really enjoyed my visit. The tattoo itself was done beautifully and I can’t praise Justin enough. Fantastic experience: Got my daughter's ears pierced here for the first time. She's been wanting them done for a while but was a bit nervous. Jason was fantastic and made her feel very comfortable and relaxed. He took his time with her and went through all the aftercare with us. The piercings are great, with only a slight bit of redness just after they were done. No issues whatsoever and she loves them! Would highly recommend.
