Negative experience: We had an appointment booked and confirnes for weeks. We show up right at 1:00 for our appointment. Doors locked, nobody answering phones. Others started showing up for their appointments as well. Waited 45 minutes. Nobody showed up. I called a left a message it's been 4 days no one has called to apologize. This was my daughters birthday gift. Needless to say, she along with others who also had appointments were very disappointed.

Negative experience: Didn't show for appointment. Very disappointing when you arrive for a surprise gift. Do not recommend, several other clients waiting so it wasn't just us.

Fantastic experience: My 15 yr old daughter’s piercings fell out over the holidays and the drama was unbearable! The nice gent at the studio took the time to help her not only pick new jewelry but also put them in for her/myself! Top shelf! Would highly recommend and most definitely will be back for my own business! Thanks bro!

Negative experience: Made an appointment with Andre for an eyebrow piercing, had a conversation on the phone about the booking that was made online, prior. Said to come at 1:30. Even got my confirmation email. Came and waited outside with doors locked. Had to have called atleast 10 times and no response to the emails. Aswell as other people trying to open the door. Waisted my waiting at this tattoo shop.Even saying you’re opened online. Highly disappointed! Do not waste your time at this place. I would give this no stars if that was an option.

Negative experience: Really disappointed in this shop's booking process and customer service. They don't have a website, no number to call, so the only way to contact them is via Instagram. I was very polite and asked them simple questions to which I got very vague answers in return without any help or information on how to go about booking an appointment. My daughter and I showed up in person to see if maybe we could get some more answers by going in person.....their hours on google state they open at 12:00. We were there at 12:05 and the door was locked. I reached out to them again via Instagram.....saw my message and no response. I don't use facebook but apparently that is how you book and appointment. I "requested" an appointment for my daughter.....no response to let me know if it was confirmed or what the next steps are. Reached out via Instagram for a 3rd time.... they saw my message and didn't respond. Absolutely AWFUL! Taking my business somewhere else.

Negative experience: I booked my teenagers in to get ear piercings. The appointment was confirmed twice. No one showed up, no one answered the phone. We were very disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I received a tattoo recently this month from Sandbox, but the tattoo got infected on my left and hand and the healing process was bad at the beginning, a close Reference to Andre told me to go to him for his expertise and Guidance. So I went scheduling a touch up, but Andre told me it wasn't wise to get the touch up due to how bad the infection was. So he provided me a list on what to do and a clean up product on how to clean the tattoo properly and what not to use. With thrall inspection and a better week of healing under this professional my hands in way better condition then what it was before. Thank you Andre I appreciate it again

Negative experience: My appointment got changed from 1 pm to 4 pm, without telling me. I got an email 10 minutes before 1 pm but I was already waiting outside. What a huge waste of my time since I drove 45 minutes to this area of town. Very unprofessional.

Negative experience: The guy Andrew smith didn't show up on time. I made an appointment for 1:30 and they texted me just 10 minutes before that the guy is going to be late for half and hour but he didn't even reply after half and hour. Till yet the hav not replied to my messages. Also I was standing outside for half and hour in -6 because the doors were locked.very unprofessional

Negative experience: We made appointment. Drove 3 hours and "they forgot to put in the books". What a huge disappointment! Then said I can be there in a hour. Do you have anything prepared? Or winging it? Yeah no thanks! I wouldn't recommend this place. Not reliable or professional!

Negative experience: I had a piercing appointment booked for the 13th with Andre. They texted me to book, and I got all the confirmations by text and from the Vagaro app. I showed up 15 minutes early for my appointment and the door was locked. I waited for a bit, called and texted to see if someone was around but got no answer. I went next door to the spa and asked if they knew if anyone was around and apparently this happens often where they don't show up or call or anything. I never got any notice of cancellation. I got a response from the number I texted (which is the same number I got a text from to book by someone named Nancy) and all it said was "who's this". I never got any information as to why nobody showed up to my appointment. I do not recommend these guys. That's not how you should run a business and not how you should treat paying costumers. If I could give 0 stars I would. Judging from the reviews this happens often and I am beyond disappointed.

Negative experience: Booked an appointment for a belly button piercing with Andre waited an hour and 15 minutes past my scheduled appointment time and the doors were still locked without any notice. I received a confirmation email the night before and the studio was open according to their business hours so there is absolutely no reason why this should have happened the way it did. Two friends of mine had booked appointments this afternoon as well, he failed to show up to all 3 appointments. Please don’t waste your time or money at this place absolutely unprofessional and disrespectful to their clients. I would give a 0 star review if I could.

Negative experience: What a horrible experience. This is the second time I’ve taken my daughter here and he hasn’t shown up. First time, we showed up (3 people) and they told us he was sick. A phone call would have been nice. Today we went and the doors were locked. We waited an hour, left and came back about 15 minutes later and the doors were still locked. I’m not sure why he’s still in business. We had 3 appts booked for today and they all received confirmation emails last night. How does this guy have the audacity not even to call? From reading the recent reviews (and a prior experience) this is crazy to me that he's still open. Our time is important and I find this extremely rude and unprofessional. Will absolutely not be booking again. Doesn’t deserve one star.

Fantastic experience: We went in to look for a shorter bar for a piercing. The owner was incredibly honest and told us we could save money by just cutting the existing bar to size. Very refreshing to deal with an honest businessman. 5/5

Negative experience: My friend and I had had an appointment to get a piercing and when we got here doors were locked no one answered. We called a few times and still no response. I definitely wouldn’t recommend coming here as they are unreliable and after reading other reviews this isn’t the first time this has happened.

Negative experience: I was given a gift certificate to Fresh Ink, booked an appointment with Andre. He and his staff were very professional and polite. After waiting 45 minutes my tattoo session started, despite having an appointment I was slotted in while he was still working on a larger full body piece. He finished my tattoo in 15 minutes, and I went to pay with my GC, I was told the minimum price of any tattoo was $200 (value of the gift card). After my first session’s results were different from the printed design I provided, and despite feeling rushed, I decided to take advantage of the free touch-up within 3 months. I booked the tattoo touch up appointment, received 2 confirmation texts asking to confirm my appointment time. Arriving on-time I waited 30 minutes before the artist met with me to discuss the touch-up details. While I continued to wait, 4 walk-in clients came for piercings, and they were serviced promptly as they were new paying customers. 90 minutes after my appointment time, I was fed up and walked out. Despite their friendly and clean establishment, I will not be returning or recommending this studio.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming her for months and have always had great experiences here. It is a very laid back and professional environment accompanied by friendly and respectful staff including the receptionist.I definitely recommend coming here for tattoos/piercings. You won’t be disappointed when you leave.

Negative experience: Had 2 appointments booked for over a month for my friend’s birthday so we could have them done at the same time. Confirmed the appointment multiple times. * Read the Reviews… they don’t show up or don’t have the proper equipment - wish I read them beforehand* Got a text message less than 15 minutes before our appointment that the 1 person couldn’t come in. ( this should have been a phone call?) We asked if the other guy could just do both. We were already driving there so we went in to chat. We were told NEITHER person showed up that day. Both people didn’t come to work and she couldn’t reach them. So no one could do our tattoos. Insanely unprofessional… and so disappointing. So we left - and reached out to a few other people - Aida with Black Label just around the corner saved the day and her work was beautiful. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: Showed up for an appointment today. My daughter was supposed to have a piercing with Andre. No one was there other than the receptionist when we showed up at 1. I had booked online, appointment was eventually confirmed and I was reminded of my appointment. We waiting for 20 minutes and then left as I was told we would be called whenever a piercer decided to show up. Never received a call back today. Super unprofessional. Wasted an hour driving there and back home. Was told the same situation happened yesterday. Not impressed.

Negative experience: Unorganized and unprofessional! I booked an apt online for 12:30pm and received multiple reminders about it, including day of. When I showed up, the receptionist told me that Andre (the piercer) wasn't there yet and she couldn't get ahold of him. She advised me to run some errands and she would call me when he arrived. After two hours of waiting I received an email saying he isn't coming in and I should rebook. This is so unprofessional and frustrating. Do not recommend.

Negative experience: Booked a septum piercing for my autistic teen.....got there and they didn't have the right type of needle ready and had to reschedule for a week later. We went back at our rescheduled time and they didn't have a record of our booking plus the piercer was away sick. We ended up booking with Evelynn at Silverline Tattoos downtown on Rideau and she was amazing. Was sad we had to go all the way downtown but it was worth it!

Negative experience: was screwed over twice. the first time I went for a septum and they didn't have the right needles and second time the person who was supposed to do the piercing (dre?) took a sick day and they didn't even cancel the appointment. 2 stars because they were polite about it but I'm not going here again.

Negative experience: My sister and I called ahead of time and dropped in to get a few piercings each. We’ve both had our fair shares of piercings so I have some experiences to compare this with and was not impressed. After filling out the consent forms (and having an employee photograph our ids), we were instructed to take a seat and wait for the piercer to be ready for us. After about ten minutes the artist (I believe Andre) came out and loudly stated to their coworkers about their distaste for snug piercings (which we had intended on getting done). This was off putting as it took place in the waiting area. Once we addressed the comment they suggested we get completely different piercings than we had listed. I am open to the opinions and suggestions of the artists but this was a very unprofessional and abrasive method of approaching the situation. They said that they’d have to re-set up in order to accommodate the change. We then waited another 20 minutes during which there were no staff present at the front of the studio. We chose to leave ay this time unimpressed with the service and treatment offered by this studio. I’m uncomfortable with their photographing of our ids and I hope that they are professional enough to delete them as they had assured us they would.

Negative experience: You'd expect your artist to actually show up to his appointment, or provide an explanation. Would give 0 stars if possible. Would NOT recommend. Very unprofessional.

Negative experience: went and got a tattoo today, had the appointment at 1 and ended up waiting 2 hours for my tattoo, i love how the tattoo ended up but that was highly unprofessional of them that i had to wait 2 hours even though this appointment has been set up for weeks, i couldn’t finish the full work, was also over charged for it, the work was done by andre

Fantastic experience: Andre pierced my 8 year old's ears. The shop let me know ahead of time they were running late, so we waited around. I am glad we waited because it was an ideal experience for our family. Everything was clean and comfortable. He spoke directly to my child and was respectful and did a great job with informed consent. I was an emotional mom and they were very kind and comforting, but above all treated my daughter with autonomy and respect which was much appreciated by both of us. Thank you Fresh Ink and Andre.

Negative experience: I booked an appointment online. It was accepted and I got at least 3 confirmations for the appointment, including one the morning of. I was there 15 minutes early, the door was locked, no one answered the phone or email. I waited until the time of my appointment, sent them a Facebook message letting them know the situation and were heading out. Still no reply on any platform, despite having "seen" the Facebook message. I ended up taking my business elsewhere, where I was welcomed as a walk-in. They were not surprised by my story. It is a shame, as I had a brilliant tattoo done by Andre a few years ago that I am still in love with. Unfortunately I will not be returning, as the customer care and service just isn't there.

Negative experience: Very upset with my tattoo from Andre!!! I got my tattoo on Jan. 28th. Andre seems to be tired that day, because when I saw the result, I was shocked!!! I texted him right away and asked him to fix it, he said he is fully booked, than he just disappeared and didn't reply until March 16th. U can see what I asked for and what I got! Now I am looking for a tattoo removal!

Negative experience: I tried to get my daughter’s and my sister’s ears pierced twice. First time the appointments got rescheduled to a later time, then they were cancelled with less than an hour notice. The second time I made another appointment and they were again rescheduled for a later time. We showed up and waited more than 15 mins. No one even acknowledged that we were there. We inquired with the other employee there who called Andre, who responded that he had just woke up. I did not appreciate that he had not even tried to notify me that he needed to reschedule or was unable to make the appointment. This is unprofessional behaviour and I would definitely NOT recommend this place.

Negative experience: i had to go to another piercing shop today to get my conch changed. it was pierced with a curved barbell and at a gauge that is to high. it cause me immense pain and three months later it has barely even started to heal. im already feeling a lot better with my new jewelry in that is at an appropriate gauge, supposedly andre doesn't even “do piercings anymore” but i guess still does it once an awhile. i would love to love this shop but it doesn't meet my expectations or the bare minimum.

Fantastic experience: This is the second time we've gone her for ear piercings for my daughter. The owner, Andre, is kind, patient and excellent at what he does. Top level experience, especially for a child that is not sure what to expect. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Andre was my piercer, he was super patient with me being indecisive about which one i wanted, he is very informative and is happy to answer lots of questions. I was insecure about how the septum looked on me but him and his team were super supportive! He is very calm and made the piercing process smoother for me. Definitely best piercer I have been too!

Negative experience: Mon tatoueur André a fait un beau travail à mon premier rendez-vous. J avais besoin de deux autres rendez-vous pour terminer le travail. C est la que ça se complique. Soit qu il commence 45 min en retard et ne peut pas terminer car il manque de temps où il ne se montre pas aux 3 rendez-vous que j ai prix la peine de confirmer pour m assurer de sa présence. Et aujourd’hui encore une fois, je sacrifie encore une journée pour mon tatouage et non pas d’Andre. Il n est pas fiable, dommage. Il charge plus cher et n est pas ponctuel a ses rendez-vous. Les autres artistes de cet endroit n ont rien à voir avec le manque de professionnalisme d’Andre. La je dois chercher un artiste en mesure de terminer mon tatouage. Je ne suis pas impressionnée du tout.

Negative experience: I got some piercings in October of 2021, one of the best experiences I've had. They were quick to respond, very professional and the piercer, André, was very nice. Cut to April/May of 2022 and the experience was totally different. I tried booking a tattoo appointment about a month in advance and they were very slow to respond. I show up for my appointment, only to find out that the artist had called in sick. I understand that life happens and people get sick, but what I'm upset about was the fact that they didn't even bother notifying me about the cancelation until I showed up. Honestly, the whole experience was unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: Just went in for a foot tattoo. I was nervous because my last tattoo was over 20 years ago and I had heard feet hurt a lot. Booked the appointment by email and sent a picture of what I wanted. Tyler had done up a few ideas by my appointment and we picked it together. I was made to feel comfortable and it didn't really hurt. The whole staff was friendly and chatted with me. I will be going back!

Fantastic experience: I got 2 tattoos from Alina today and oh my god! They are my favourite tattoos. She did her research on the subject matter before designing, was fun to talk to, and the tats came out better than I could’ve ever hoped for. I’m usually an anxious person but Alina made me feel comfortable in the space and I had a great time!

Fantastic experience: Went and got my nose pierced yesterday with a friend. We made an appointment easily with them a few days prior over instagram. I've been to other shops and this one was by far the cleanest, calmest, and kindest one I've been too. My friend and I were both pierced by Andre who had an awesome sense of humor and made the whole experience really great for us. I'll be going back for my next tattoos and piercings. Wish I got the desk man's name too because he was also very nice! Great job everyone ☺️

Negative experience: I booked an appointment with a tattoo artist, Alina, 3 months in advance. I was really looking forward to getting this tattoo as I heard very good things about her and the Fresh Ink Tattoo Studio. I even took the day off from work. As I was on my way to the studio I got a call for cancellation only 1.5 hours before the actual appointment. They did not provide me with any reason and said that they needed to cancel. Later that day, I saw the tattoo artist posting on her story about the tattoos she was working on. The tattoo artist never reached out to apologize or reschedule. They were very unprofessional and I would never book with them again.

Fantastic experience: Got a beautiful helix piercing done by Andre! He did an amazing job and was extremely kind and helped calm my nerves. He laughed at my jokes and made it an overall very comfortable environment. Great place! Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Alina is amazing! And did an awesome job with my tattoo! However piercing experience was the worst! Very traumatizing experience told the lady at the desk that the piercer should not pierce anyone else. When a friend started asking me questions (since she was going to get pierced) the lady was very ignorant towards me and was completely rude telling me “do not talk to our clients about the situation” in a very rude tone once my mom went inside she acted very nice as if nothing happened and pretended to be all friendly. She was definitely not treating us as clients but as stupid teens. Would not recommend unless you are going to get tattooed by coco, alina or Andrea who are very amazing! The front desk attendants are normally always rude especially to teens! Got our money back. Also pierced my gf in the cineplex’s wrong spot and a totally different piercing that she had asked. And mien was crooked.

Negative experience: Had an appointment scheduled for 3pm didn’t start the piercing process until 4pm. Sarah was our piercer. She misplaced my boyfriends nose piercing, struggled to put the bead on the back of his helix piercing for about 10 mins. She pierced my daith instead of my rook, and when I asked for the jewelry to be taken out she was struggling and after 10 minutes I decided to just leave. She took a bathroom break in between for about 20 minutes with her purse. 3 hours later we left and got a full refund. Never coming back again

Fantastic experience: This tattoo studio is definitely the top 10 in Kanata/ Ottawa. Comfortable environment, extremely clean and professional. I have been to several studio's and I will say this studio is by far the best. I decided to bring my daughter here for her first tattoo (Butterfly) as well getting a tattoo myself. Our artist was Coco. Coco did an amazing job on both of our tattoos. Definitely will be returning for future tattoos. Highly recommend! Thank you!!

Negative experience: Got pierced here about 3 weeks back and it took over an hour past my appointment to be seen. The piercer had quite the attitude which was apparently due to a coworker quitting on the spot that day. Then I proceeded to be pierced in the incorrect spot on my septum. I was pretty sure it was off (it was very painful and bled quite a bit) and upon seeing another piercer I was correct. So I took it out and got repierced in the correct spot by Tim at "New Moon tattoo" on Carling. Muuuuch better experience and I love love love my septum now! Be wary if you decide to go here. The top picture is where the original piercing was done. The bottom is the corrected piercing.

Fantastic experience: The staff there are all very friendly and the overall energy of the establishment is fun and welcoming. I got an orbital cartilage piercing done, and because of the advice and encouragement of the staff there had a very positive experience. Absolutely would recommend the spot to anyone, and I certainly plan to return.

Fantastic experience: One word: Coco. He's amazing. Backstory: I'm terrified of needles. I had zero desire for a tattoo until, at 56, I did. I went into the shop to ask a few questions, they happened to have a cancellation, and did the artwork and tattoo right then and there. Good thing because I might have chickened out. From start to finish, there was nothing to be scared of. The guys are great and sweet and fun. Coco, who did my tattoo, is incredible -- kind, funny, reassuring, everything that you could ask for; absolutely lovely. I have nothing but good things to say about this experience. 14/10, highly recommend. Thank you, Coco!!!!!!

Negative experience: We booked 3 separate appointments over the span of 2 weeks and the first two times got cancelled within 2 hours of our appointment. The last time we showed up and got turned away after we got there. Would not recommend this place to anyone as they are extremely unprofessional and can’t be trusted.

Fantastic experience: I when in to get my very first piercing (septum), and they were very professional and kind. They laughed at my jokes and they were very nice and funny. It was a very wonderful environment. They made me feel very safe and They reassured me that the piercing would be fast and painless. It was. The piercing looks amazing. They did a great job. Over all, wonderful place. Five stars.

Positive experience: The work done was great. Although I wish I would have known about the $100 minimum fee. For something so small (that I was quoted $60 from another studio) cost me approximately $150 (after tax and tip). Is this a standard for most studios?? If so I was completely unaware...
