Fantastic experience: Planned to get a belly button piercing. The owner was trust worthy and honest with me that I couldn't get one due to not having the right anatomy and said he didn't want to rip me off, which I appreciated and also made me trust him,because other piercers might have just done it anyway which would then lead to lots of complications. He was also super chill and down to earth. Ended up getting a nose piercing and it was super fast and pretty much painless. Would highly recommend.

He talked to them calmly, explained exactly what he was going to do before he did it, waited when they got scared and needed a minute. 10/10, would recommend anyone go here.

Fantastic experience: My daughter wanted her ears pierced for her 6th birthday. I chose Good Dog based on positive reviews and am sure glad I did. I was adamant I wanted her to get them done by a professional piercer with a needle versus a teenager working at Claires in the mall with a piercing gun. First impressions were great-- some good pre black album Metallica playing and Star Wars memorabilia. It was a great vibe. My daughter was a brave gal and Daryl was so good with her. Mama wants to go back and get an industrial soon!

Negative experience: Called to book a tattoo and was told they had “tons of availability.” The moment I mentioned it was an inner lip tattoo, the tone flipped and I got an immediate, judgmental “no” without even asking what it would say. For a shop whose bio claims to be “inclusive,” that sure wasn’t my experience.

Fantastic experience: I have somewhere around 50 individual pieces (two sticker sleeves, lol) and Daryl has put down 27 of those. He has tattooed significant pieces for me (my back, chest, sternum, hands) as well as completed most of the work on my arms. I started coming to the shop in 2022 as somewhat of a tattoo newbie still, but I feel confident in my knowledge and judgement now; Daryl is easily the best artist I’ve been to and his work has influenced and developed my love for the American traditional style. He is easy going, honest, so fun to hang out with and fair in his pricing. I keep business cards at work because I frequently get asked who does my tattoos – his art speaks for itself. The atmosphere at Good Dog is incredible, everyone in there is fun and friendly, and the shop is always clean. I cannot recommend Daryl, or the shop as a whole, enough.

I have a good number of works already and Good Dog is not only close by but had great reviews, and they take walk-ins, so I arrived a few minutes after they opened and Kat was able to take me right away. I wanted to make sure to write a review to add my voice to the others - very, very happy with Kat and Good Dog. The environment is very clean, professional and inviting, and the staff were awesome. Kat and I talked a bit about what I wanted, looked at a few options for font and style, and agreed on what we both thought would look good. She was amazing! I watched as she did the first outline and I was very impressed watching her precision. I was also very impressed with how gentle the whole piece felt on my skin. Looking at it now in the evening, I'm so happy with the work. Thank you Kat and Good Dog, I'll see you again soon!

Negative experience: Would not recommend seeing Josh. I've gotten a few decent tattoos over the years but the last couple there were lots of blow out lines and holes in lines. He started a half sleeve on me and when he lied to his previous employer about leaving the tattoo industry, when I approached him to see if he would finish it he said "get someone else to do it" I've been a loyal customer for 5 plus years... Just be careful.

Positive experience: I got tattooed here about a year ago for two tattoos. While the service was very friendly, the tattoos were not really greatly done. I have many others tattoos and took care of them the same and yet these ones came out really horrible. I had to get it touched up by someone else twice and both times they said that it was very aggressively done. I paid a lot for those tattoos and tipped really well not realizing when I took off the saniderm that it would look not so great underneath which sucked.

Fantastic experience: Had an old really worn down tattoo with a name I wanted covered up. It turned out even better than I imagined. I also added my 2 kids names and she made them fit in to the original tattoo flawlessly. Very clean shop. I walked in and felt like I was just chatting with old friends.

Darryl’s been working on a trad half sleeve with me that’s full of a few different styles blended with his style , some of my own input as well as working at connecting it into a huge upper arm piece I have and it’s amazing , we are almost done . Compliments everywhere I go . Darryl is flexible , honest and very talented . He isn’t afraid to also say if a piece may need to be placed in a different position for overall aesthetic - and he has been doing this for a long time - I trust his knowledge . When it all played out he was right ! Also have a neck tat , calf work and some others on the go . I’ve had Monica work on a piece : very talented with line work and detail very high quality . Had piercings with Ray : smooth as butter ! I’ve been in shops all around for over 30 years , Good Dog has the mojo , great vibes , positive and inclusive environment with no negative weird energy . Kind off a skate punk rock vibe art from the OG days . Unique . Everyone from front desk , Fletch is amazing , other tattooers are really unique and talented in their styles and designs Kat , Paul . I would like to have all do a piece at some point . Recommend everyone to come in , so much talent in one great place !

Negative experience: Despite all the great reviews Shop comes up waaaay short. Daryl the self proclaimed "it's my shop" guy announced upon my arrival that my design was too complex for him (New Brunswick flag) and that it would have to be too big to see any detail. pointed to designs on the wall and suggested I pick something else. Are you a Star wars fan? he asked... Nope. With my booking deposit safely already in his possession he hurried me to find another design. settled on a small piece, got it and he rushed out the door. Aaaand based on my experience(s) elsewhere, overcharged. I don't say this lightly but the guy's a total hack. If you want a cookie cutter cartoon figure, maybe he's your guy. Went to another establishment had my exact design done and it is mint!

He took the time to make sure the piercings were right where i wanted them, and he had great communication all the way through. Fantastic experience: I found Good Dog Tattoos via Google , while trying to find a piercing tattoo parlour on the west end. I checked their Facebook page which took me to their Instagram page, I send them a message and they replied even tho it was after hours ( graveyard worker ), I was pleasantly surprised and the interaction was super friendly. I came to the shop to get more information regarding piercings I wanted to get and the staff was amazing, the front desk girl ( sorry I can't remember her name ) was super sweet and patience., with my ASD child, as a parent it's sometimes nerve wracking to take my kiddos to certain places but everyone treated so kindly and I am still super grateful , just for that they deserve . Daryl gave me some more info to and I decided to get 3 piercings, he explained the process to me , was very friendly and everything was done very hygienic & carefully. Afterwards he proceeded to explained to me about after care, which was to me, supper important. The only thing that was a bit awkward was that I wasn't aware of the "tipping etiquette" , I haven't had a tattoo ever and my earlobe piercings were done when I was a baby, in my home country we don't tip at tattoo parlors or for piercings and I , unfortunately only had enough to pay for the services and the saline solution and well tax. It kind of felt awkward cause I didn't know and I also didn't want to feel like a jerk, I felt so bad, but it's not their fault ; now I know. I would definitely come back tho ! They are an amazing crew

I had my nose pierced and I had no pain the next day, I feel like my nose has been pierced for years.. The girl that did my piercing was so kind and clean.. very impressed. I had my tatoo touched up and Monica did another wrist tatoo , all I can say is wow!!’ She said if needed a break take one but honestly felt no pain.. She was so accommodating and nice. They're also a very welcoming and inclusive space, they have a 0 tolerance policy for hateful speech that I really appreciate! He was most patient and took the time to explain what(in his opinion) would work and also what wouldn't work . Given my initial experience of meeting him, I felt comfortable to leave my ideas with him to see what he could come up with. Upon seeing the design he had done, I was happy to proceed with the tattoo. I have to say that getting the 'work' done was a great experience. Daryl was very calm, methodical and professional. He was also great conversation. He did a wonderful job and I will for sure be returning for another tattoo. I have already referred a customer to him and will continue to do so without hesitation. Fantastic experience: I popped in one day taking a chance on getting squished in. Daryl and staff were so friendly and accommodating! They told me it would be roughly a 3 hour wait. I'm from out of town so I hung around and kept them company LOL. Their space is very clean, Monica did my tattoo and I must say she has a very steady hand. Both my tattoos look exactly as requested. Fantastic experience: They were amazing. I don’t remember the name of the woman who did my nose piercing but she was so friendly and so welcoming I would definitely recommend going here. I did a walk-in and they were explaining the process and piercing my nose within 15 minutes of me getting there. I had to wait around 5 minutes for them to set up but other than that my experience was better than words can describe. Their prices are so affordable as well! If you’re thinking about getting a tattoo or a piercing then go here. My experience is unforgettable because that’s how amazing it was.
