Expérience fantastique: Shoutout to JC, an amazing piercer! Short story, I had a labret done (by someone else) that was wrongly placed; he handled the situation perfectly, with care, calm, respect and reassurance. After healing the previous hole, JC did a perfect job in making sure that the new labret was nothing short of amazing. Took the time to make it perfect, the aftercare instructions were clear and again, with a peaceful calm that made me feel comfortable to ask questions. Luna (piercer) was also present, coming and going; their shared love for perfection, symmetry and balance made me feel confident that everything was being done to make the best possible piercing on my body. Merci, I will be back soon!

Expérience négative: Do not go here. One of their tattoo artists is someone who will add new parts of tattoo to you without consent. Especially where you cant see. The studio is nice enough but what my tattooer did to me ruined my experience, ruined the vision I had for my tattoo, made me have to compromise and have to spend even more cash instead of enjoying what I wanted. Tattooer name: Maxime Pothier Date: Aug 2nd 2025 I came in with a very specific design, told him where i wanted it to go, what i wanted it to look like on certain parts and even drew it on paper. It is a unique design made by myself so it isnt even a concern about it being stolen. He said it looked simple enough and would just take time. He would draw it on my on the day and get to work tattooing. As he was drawing it I asked him to modify certain sections and he began to reject my requests. He said that it was because he knows how to make tattoos look good on the body and that what I was asking for was not good. I didn't want to argue with someone who is writing on my skin because you never know what they might do. What I was afraid would happen, did happen. When he was filling in the outlined section on my tricep (while I was laying down), he added a massive black 4 inch piece to my tricept that was not outlined not discussed. He freestyled on me when that was not the agreement. He did not TELL me, ASK me or even pause to consider if what he was doing was a humane practice to do to someone who was trusting him with their skin. I only found out about it once it was already there and filled in. I immediately noticed it and he said he added it to rebalance the tattoo. Rebalance? He is the one who drew it initially. He should have noticed that it was imbalanced and redrew with marker. I saw it and I was theown off badly. I still continued tattoo process but it slowly sank in, what had happened. He broke my consent. I tried calling the shop to make a complaint and maybe discuss it with management. They advised talking to him directly. Thinking maybe we could work something out I went to him to talk to him. I looked him gently in the eyes as I asked him a critical question: "Why did you add this without asking me?" A very clear question. He reiterated to me "Because he saw the imbalance and wanted to make it look better". He did not apologize, he did not admit that he broke my consent and took advantage of my skin when it suited him. I didn't come in for a freestyle tat, I came in for a specific tattoo. In that moment I knew that the remaining empty lines on my tricep to my back and onto my shoulder could not be trusted with him. If he was willing to freestyle when I couldnt see on my tricep, he would have been willing to do it on my back and shoulder and I couldnt allow this. I told him we will no longer do that section. We gilled in the empty lines on my front arm and eventually I went to go and seek second opinions. All other tattoo shops said that I should not go back to this guy and they were right. They gave me the courage to get another artist, and pick up my deposit from the first guy. So I did. For context: I have linked a photo. I have also named the tattooer. I am not afraid of any consequences any longer. I am telling the truth. In the photo included you can see the outline of the tattoo. you see how it is supposed to split into three lines on either side. Then you can see on my tricep that there is a new spot. It isnt tiny either. You can see that spike on my tricep and closely inside you can see the straight line he broke out of so that he could do this without telling me. it never occured to me to take a picture of the stencil between breaks because i never would have thought he would do a thing like this. Consent is key. Breaking it when someone is polite and only wants to cooperate and is willing to pay you for your steady hand and skill is one of the most disgusting things you can do to a person. I have modified my tattoo with another artist (who actually had respectful discussion with me) and it is infinitely better.

Expérience négative: I don’t recommend getting a dermal here. I came here after seeing great reviews and receiving a recommendation from a friend who got a rlly nice tattoo here. It seems like they have very experienced tattoo artists and maybe even piercers, however I had a very unfortunate experience getting my cheek dermal. First, though it may have been a language barrier, I felt there was a lack of communication surrounding the piercing process and after care. With the initial piercing they did not put the anchor of the dermal deep enough. The piercer had to call in her colleague to check her work and then she attempted the put it in deeper which was quite painful. After a month the dermal was still painful and clearly not deep enough so it began rejecting. I went to a different shop to get it checked out and they had to completely remove and redo the piercing because the wrong sized jewelry was used. I also found out the anchor used was out of date and there is better jewelry out there now. Overall, I don’t mean to trash this place at all, i’m sure they’re great for tattoos, but I would reconsider getting a dermal here.

AJ, who has joined the team about a year ago, has designed & inked all of my tattoos but one so far, and I am extremely happy with all of them!! He is extremely talented, has great bedside manner, and his art style is versatile and full of personality. I have only 1 critique, the music playlist can sometimes be really loud. For me, it adds a layer of exhaustion on top of enduring the pain of tattoo needles.

Expérience fantastique: To be fair, I would separate reviews of the salon and reviews of the artists. All the artists are truly talented here. Whereas the reception/cashier desk needs some improvement. Devon was working on my forearm tattoo, a complex design with many small details and textures. He helped me create my own unique design, suggested ideas, ways of implementation. He is a real artist who takes your ideas and makes the best our of them. It was a long and painful process, but the result appeared to be better than I could imagine. Devon cares about his projects and their quality, and won't leave you with a tattoo you will regret about. On a flip side, as I mentioned earlier, the reception desk needs some customer service training. I understand a tattoo salon is a type of place where you don't expect 5* hotel treatment. However, a bit more attention to clients and their needs would be appreciated. My first session (around a year ago) was the worst experience - apparently you can only pay in cash, it was not mentioned when I booked a session and was not in the email confirmation. It was half an hour before closing and the artist was still working on the tattoo, when the receptionist lady started rushing him and DEMANDING me to pay right away because 'she needs to close the register'. Extremely rude, extremely not professional. I could tell the artist (Devon) was second hand embarrassed. We had to stop the work and I walked downstairs to ATM to get the money. Had to call the bank to increase the withdrawal limit, as my card had 400$ limit. Why not simply accept debit cards or etransfer?? The tax is added on top of the price given by the artist, but I was NEVER given a receipt or at least a piece of paper stating the paid amount. So this gives a hint where that 'tax' goes to and why they only accept cash. For the next session I was prepared, but another incident happened: same lady walked to our stand, work in progress, and started recording me with her phone, 'for their social media'. I politely asked if she forgot to ask a permission from me to be filmed and posted somewhere. Surely, she 'forgot to ask'... Long story short, great artists, terrible reception desk! Highly recommmend the artists, especially Devon.

Expérience négative: I made an appointment for 12. I showed up for 12. The receptionist then told me that my appointment had been at 11. I showed her the confirmation email that said it was at 12. Turns out their system scheduled me in Atlantic Time for some reason…. They couldn’t take me. The earliest she could fit me in was an hour later, but I had specifically scheduled this appointment during a work break. So I ended up making the trip for nothing and wasting my time. Adjust your system. There’s no reason for it to schedule me in a different timezone if I wasn’t in it when I booked. No empathy either, just a shrug. Edit to address your answer: If there is one constant among the negative reviews (which are not many but do bring up valid points nonetheless), it is the lack of accountability on the business’s part. Or whoever replies. They are mostly defensive and mean spirited. Yes I was annoyed. I booked an appointment and made the trip only to be turned away. Show me one person who wouldn’t be. I suppose I should have said thank you; maybe that would have been satisfactory to you. At no point did I raise my voice, cuss, cause a commotion, “demand to speak to a manager.” I was disappointed which anyone in this situation would be. And when the receptionist asked if I was in a hurry I simply said “yes”, albeit curtly and under my breath, and turned around to leave. Is it rude to say that the system is at fault and this you are? Is it rude to be disappointed? Don’t worry. I have no desire to come back to a place that takes no accountability for its mistakes.

Expérience négative: I went around 1 year ago to do my septum piercing. I think the person that did it was pretty new because it was done way higher than it should. He realized and proposed re-piercing it on the spot, but I refused since it was way too painful and didn't want to go over this again. The healing process was very long and painful, and none of the rings I would try really fit my nose (they had to be too big otherwise they wouldn't close since the pierce was too high up). Yesterday I got it removed in another store (it was still uncomfortable to me and I didn't like the result), and they explained me that they pierced so high that reached the cartilage, which is not okay at all. Apparently this is not supposed to hurt and the healing should be pretty fast. Now I think I should have told the piercer I wouldn't want it and I wouldn't have wasted 100$... so bottom line is, they are clean and nice enough but if you want to get your septum pierced, just go somewhere else

Expérience négative: I would give 0 stars if I could. They took advantage of my ignorance. It was my first time getting a piercing ( i.e., lobe piercings) and they charged me 90$ just to pierce my ears and told me I was REQUIRED to purchase their expensive jewelry (the cheapest being ~100$ per piece). Meanwhile, at other places it costs as low as 25$ to get a lobe piercing ! Then, they said that their saline rinse was a necessity to prevent infection. Overall, it cost me ~380$ just for lobe piercings! It was only later that I discovered that I was basically scammed. I do not recommend this establishment for piercings and will never return.

Luna provided very detailed information and she was extremely patient throughout the entire process. She even looked at a previous piercing I was having issues with.

Expérience positive: I recently got pierced at this shop by Alexi. He did not ask me if I was ready or to take a breath (which every piercer I've ever encountered has done) before sticking the needle through my septum. It totally caught me off guard. Afterwards he said he likes it to be a surprise. I found this very unprofessional and somewhat traumatic. Otherwise, the shop was clean and the staff friendly. But I wouldn't get pierced by him again.

Expérience négative: I bought expensive jewelry here to replace the plain ones I got when I was initially pierced, and the piercer told me they could downsize the bars for free as they heal. They gave me bars with giant backs that always get caught in my hair, so I went back to get them changed, and they said they don’t have smaller backs and wanted to charge me for the shorter bars. I don’t recommend. If I pay hundreds of dollars for jewelry and you tell me you can change it for free, you should stand by that.

Great team, shout out to the piercer, Michael! A real Pro! Amazing work, amazing ambiance, amazing people, I can go on and on about how great the whole ordeal has been!

I booked at this shop just because the amount of good reviews despite the fact that this shop charge 45 dollar more than the other 2 shops I called( MTL tattoo was 145$ for 2 piercing on ears + basic titanium earrings). 1 . I waited 30mins although I made an appointment, which wasn’t a big deal TBH. 2. I asked the artist which one is “basic earrings” that does not have extra cost before the procedure. He showed me, and I chose a basic tiny tiny titanium one in the category. After the procedure, it came out $206.96. I asked how it came out this way. He replied that I chose the extra cost earrings. I would’ve appreciated if he told me before. He also told me he charged extra because I chose a bit inner part of ear, not on ear lob, which took the exact same sec with the lob on the other side. I am a business owner myself. So I have empathy for other business. However, I feel that the way he communicated with me was shady. I hope they can improve their communication skills. *reply to your reply. First of all, I never asked the price about ear lobs, but piercing on ears. You just assumed that I asked about ear lobs without asking me. Also, why can’t you explain to your client that the price would be different before the procedure? This is my whole point! Second of all, I clearly asked the earrings for “the basic model”, and you said “yes, its here”. Obviously, I chose one of it. If I didn’t(why you wouldn’t say anything about it if this was the case, anyway if you understood my question?), you could’ve told me that the one that I chose was not the basic model, instead of telling me “oh this was extra cost because of this and that” after charged me the extra

Expérience négative: I went and got a single 3rd lobe piercing in October by Luna. The piercing experience was fine, but the earring which I paid over $200 for broke in less than 1 month. The consent form I signed says that MTL tattoo guarantees their jewelry so I emailed to ask about options for replacement. They were very difficult, and ultimately have not replied to my last 3 emails. I didn't get a response from Luna on instagram either. They still have refunded my any money, or replaced the jewelry they guarantee. Fair piercing experience, but you're screwed if you have complications afterwards. Terrible customer service, given they've ghosted me! ADDENDUM: Reply to MTL tattoo The threaded earring’s threads stripped and broke, so the earring fell out of my ear. We both know that earrings with threads should not just fall out of your ear - this only happens when they break. I also have email receipts, including you accusing me of lying about the earring and of 3 un-answered emails over an 8 day period. I also emailed you the day the earring broke, not a month after. You made it very clear that you weren’t willing to help me, despite guaranteeing against broken jewelry. Your rude emails, accusing me of lying, and ignoring my emails for 8 days, and lack of willingness to stand behind your product is what lead to this review. It is odd that you can reply to a review within 12 hours, but it takes over a week for you to reply to my email….

Expérience fantastique: I had my first two piercings done here yesterday. It was an incredible experience. The staff are gentle, friendly and professional. This was a spontaneous walk-in decision, but I'm glad I happened by MTL because they walked me through all the decision making and took my needs into consideration. They only pierce straight to studs. There is a cafe here too. Very cool people and very cool jewelry. Come here for all your body modification needs

Expérience négative: They screw my GF over since it was her first tattoo and she did not know better .They charged her 550$ for a 1h45minute job.......I even call to ask what was the hourly rate and they say around 150$........ Is there somethying we can do ? sue them or something?

Expérience positive: I did my very first tattoo here! The place has nice vibes, artists are so cool and super friendly, I really like them! I'll come back for my second tattoo, for sure! The only reason why I don't give 5 stars is because the manager (I'm not sure if he is the manager but he looks like) is unfriendly and unpleasant if you speak english.

Miranda was amazing and did great in assisting us through the process. Her selection of colours was exactly what we wanted. I would not hesitate to go see her again.
