It’s a great opportunity to get with an artist for a small piece who might be booked out for a while. Extremely professional and clean shop what stood out the most was how welcoming the shop was. All of the artists were very kind and easy to work with. Taylor, the owner of the shop, did mine and my friend’s matching tattoos. He was absolutely fabulous. This shop has risen the bar for my expectations out of a tattoo shop. I will forever recommend the shop as well as any of the artists who work there. A phenomenal experience!

For years, I had been thinking about getting a tattoo, but it wasn’t until I lost my father that I really started to get serious about it. I wanted something that honored my military service and also be a memorial to my father, but I also didn’t want to rush into it. I was determined to find the right artist and the right shop. After seeing Taylor’s work on a co-worker of mine, I knew I had found the right person. The tattoo I saw was incredibly clean, detailed, and had an artistry to it that I was looking for. I reached out to Taylor, sent him my ideas, and scheduled an appointment at The Crucible. From the moment I stepped into The Crucible, I knew I was in good hands. The shop has a welcoming and professional atmosphere, and Taylor immediately made me feel at ease as we discussed my vision for the tattoo. He really took the time to understand what I wanted, and you could tell that he genuinely cared about making it something special. The final result was nothing short of amazing. The tattoo perfectly captured everything I wanted: a beautiful memorial to my dad and a tribute to my time in the Navy. It’s clean, detailed, and exactly what I had envisioned. Both times I’ve been (once as a scheduled appt. w/ Gabe, once on a walk-in day), all of the artists have been friendly and professional, but also very personable. They’re easy to talk to, invested not just in their own work, but in their fellow artist’s work, and it’s easy to tell that there is a lot of energy poured into making The Crucible an inviting place. Not only do they do great work tattooing, they also offer a wide variety of gallery shows highlighting local artists. Experiencia fantástica: My experience with The Crucible was outstanding! The look of the shop is incredible. The combo art gallery-tattoo shop blends naturally and feels super welcoming. In the best way possible, it was giving NYC third wave coffee shop vibes. Great music too! For my artist, I worked with Madeline Brown/@shiver_beams for a tattoo concept I really struggled to describe. I wanted to blend the “evil” gothic-vibe of the Goathead Sabres jersey with the Goathead logo itself. Of all the ways she could have taken it, I think the artist found the best possible result, a gothic stain glass window. I’m so happy with the tattoo, which I think looks amazing, but I also had an overall great experience with the actual appointment. Throughout the entire session Madeline offered opportunities to take a break, reset, and check-in if necessary. For me, this was totally unnecessary because the touch felt very light throughout the session, but it was really nice to know I had the opportunity to take a minute if I needed it. Not every artist offers that. This is my second tattoo with Madeline, and my first at The Crucible. I highly recommend visiting their shop and hiring Madeline as your artist!

The studio has a great atmosphere and the artists there are so nice and insanely talented. Kenna does beautiful work and has made 8 of my tattoos come to life. Her work is top notch and she always manages to take my jumbled thoughts (bless her) and turn them into pieces I’m obsessed with! 100/10 would recommend.

I was recently there for a tattoo appointment with Taylor Heald, and the experience was excellent. From finalizing the design to finishing the final white highlights in the tattoo, I felt safe and confident the entire time I was in the studio. I would also be remiss if I didn't mention the beautiful art exhibits that are hosted at Crucible. It's a lovely experience to be in a space that celebrates art in so many different ways. I can't wait to go back!

I’ve gone to a few different shops in town that are great, but Crucible’s vibe is absolutely incredible and they’re always showcasing local artists in their gallery as well. No matter what style of tattoo you’re into, there’s an artist for that. I highly recommend Samwise if you’re going, but I would love to get a piece from every artist in the shop. You can’t go wrong here!

Experiencia fantástica: Brian did an awesome job with bringing my half sleeve tattoo back to life. My previous artist closed his shop during Covid and moved out of Buffalo, but Brian did an excellent job looking at the unfinished section around the back of my shoulder and created a wonderful addition to the existing work. I am so happy with how it turned out! He and the rest of the artists were very friendly and welcoming, and the studio itself was beautiful and very clean. Would highly recommend checking it out.

It’s always warm, welcoming, clean and everyone is always so friendly from the minute you walk in the door to the minute you leave. I’ve had 3 tattoos done with Brian now and every time he knocks it out of the park. Brian can run with any idea you give him and will work with you to design the perfect piece. Brian’s awesome and I will highly recommend him and The Crucible to all of my family and friends!

Taylor had a drawing ready, but he completed the majority of the design right on me that day. He is an amazing artist and I could not be happier with how it turned out. Not only is he skilled but he was also very friendly. The shop itself is super clean and has a great atmosphere. I enjoyed checking out the artwork in the gallery while he set up too. Experiencia fantástica: Today was my first time at the crucible and honestly it was a great experience. All the people there are so welcoming and sweet. Gabe did this tattoo for me, he’s done all of my tattoos and he is amazing! He kept checking on me, making sure I was okay. He always goes beyond what you expect and he always makes sure that you are comfortable. This is my 5th tattoo and I wanted to cover up some old scars and he did amazing at covering them up. It’s not done yet either so it’s gonna get even better than it already is. 100% recommend the crucible and gabe!

Experiencia fantástica: I participated in and was the point person for a group art exhibit at The Crucible Art Collective and had a wonderful experience. Alicia Malik (gallery curator and manager) was communicative, supportive and warm. She made sure we felt taken care of, provided any help and input that was needed, while also prioritizing our vision for the show. She was hands on for installation, which was appreciated. Taylor Heald (owner and tattoo artist) was also really inviting, made us feel welcome, and kept a cool and attentive presence throughout our work's stay in the space. The space itself was one of our favorites and gallery goers commented on how much they enjoyed being there and seeing the work in this visually appealing, professional and relaxed environment. Highly recommend to any artists who are interested in a solo or group exhibition experience. Many thanks to Taylor, Alicia and all those that participated and viewed the exhibit!

Experiencia fantástica: The Crucible Art Collective is easily the nicest shop I've ever been in--with a beautiful art gallery upon entry and a clean, spacious studio to the side, it was honestly hard for me not to keep my jaw dropped as I settled in for my tattoo appointment with Gabe. Calm, cool, and funny, it was a pleasure to have Gabe as my artist. He helped me feel comfortable with it being my first time at the studio and working with him. He's got a great style and I know I'll be coming back for more of his work in the future.

Experiencia fantástica: This was my first time at the studio and I was thoroughly impressed. The space is light, clean and had an excellent artistic atmosphere. Sam is extremely friendly, fun and an amazing artist. She has excellent creative abilities, especially with coverups! She is excellent at helping you create a perfect tattoo especially if you’re unsure with what you fully want which she did for me. I recommend her to anyone I know!
