Experiencia fantástica: Several months back, I had my lobes pierced at 6g by Whitney. She did an awesome job, explained everything, was super thorough and laid back. Followed the aftercare to a T and had quick healing and 0 problems. Recently bought some new plugs with shorter posts for comfort as I want to wait a little bit longer for stretching to the next size. They were super reasonably priced, sterilized them for me and gave me extra o-rings and everything I needed for a jewelry change. Overall a great professional shop and will continue to give them my business.

Experiencia fantástica: On 01/31/2022, I paid the parlor and tattoo artist Kylie $140 to tatt three cursive-like initials ('MLM') in black ink running horizontally behind my right ear. They are my husband's initials. We weren't yet married at that time, so fortunately, I made the right decision. Love wins! Here is a pic of that tatt nearly 4 years later:

Experiencia negativa: Do NOT go here. Different tattoos were put on me than what I asked for. This is permanent! Get your ink elsewhere. My appointment was cut short because their next one arrived early??? So I got half done tattoos, and not everything I asked and PAID FOR. I wish I was making this nonsense up. Also I was charged the full amount to “finish” my tattoos, plus tax mind you, and have never heard back from them. Not that I’d ever go back after this horrific experience anyway.

Experiencia negativa: Walked in at 7:09 to try and get second holes done in lobes. Place closes at 8. "we take our last client at 7,so we have time to sterilze everything" okay close and lock your doors at 7 then you close at 7. Just be aware if you're a walk in and are interested in any piercings. Was trying to find a place with decent reviews on practice and staff but I'll be going elsewhere.

I filled out the form online and got called pretty much as soon as they opened. I was able to get in same day to get that fixed with Chad I also decided to finally upgrade my nostril. Chad is rad. Took his time with me when I was deciding on my nostril Jewerly. Cracked a few jokes and next thing I know I’m reborn as a new woman. Again, Chad is rad. 10000%%%%%%% recommend. ✨✨✨✨✨✨

Slipped outta there 4 tattoos (3 other friends got theirs)!! 1995 OG/ female artist did mine but can’t remember her & Charlie was there and left to go home /it was about 10 pm when we got there lol . Tasmanian Devil/ EQI letter’s tattooed in the stomach area

Experiencia negativa: I came to Tattoo Charlie’s as someone who just moved to lexington from a rural town with 2 tattoo shops and one APP certified piercer for the entire town. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, vibe, jewelry options, and artwork when I came in with my brother when he got his dermal. I talked to 2 (I believe Jess and Jordan, they were both the sweetest) of the piercers about my anatomy to be pierced at a larger gauge for my septum that day and we discussed some options for the future. About a week after that discussion, I set my appointment for Tuesday at 2:30 originally, then called back after calling my friends who were coming in from out of town to go with me, to reschedule for 3 because I did not want to be late. When I was in my best friend’s car on the way there, I read in the confirmation text that stated to let the staff know if you will be late. I called and said I would be AROUND 5 minutes late and it would be all good. I arrived 5 minutes after the 5 minutes late I said I would be, it was 3:11 when I arrived. I was profusely apologizing as I came in since I had an appointment that I was late for, but like any professional business there is typically a grace period. In which the woman at the front desk with multiple eyebrow piercings did not appreciate to apply. My Father in Law is an established tattoo artist in Morehead for over 10 years, and that was genuinely extremely uncalled for especially with her knowing I was in the car on the way with friends from out of town, an hour away. and told her I would be late. As soon as I walked in I apologized for being late, and she said “Are you Yhanna?” and I replied “Yes!” very enthusiastically and she said in the flattest, most unsympathetic tone that the rest of the spots were filled and someone took my appointment because i was 10 (5 if you include me letting her know i’d be late) minutes late. I called that day and asked about walk ins as well, so you could have just said you didn’t want to do work on me and moved on. The piercers here are lovely and i highly recommend them, but because of my experience with the woman at the front desk i unfortunately will not be recommending this spot nor returning.

Experiencia fantástica: My tattoo I got here from over a decade ago still looks nice. I was in there recently for something and what stood out was that it was very clean in there. Some may not like it but their site states they refuse to do unsafe piercings and I actually think that is a responsible thing that reflects positively on the establishment.

She clearly explained everything happening, how to take care of my piercings, and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Also, I have an aluminum allergy so I was happy that they had good quality jewelry I could safely wear! Highly recommend!!!

Experiencia positiva: Great experience! Everyone was very kind! I just wish there was more price transparency. I went in to get a second lobe piercing on one ear & I wanted the cheapest, most basic jewelry. I felt pressured to choose something more expensive (no prices listed on the jewelry case and when I asked, I got no response). I literally got one ear lobe pierced and it ended up being over $75. I was not expecting that at all. I was not asked if I wanted to pay for the $10 saline spray—it was put in a bag and I was told to go to checkout, making me think it was included. I’m sure I was charged for this (the same stuff is $5 at your neighborhood convenience store). Then with a tip, one lobe piercing ended up being over $90. Just disappointed because I could’ve gotten two piercings for the price for this single piercing any where else. Since I couldn’t get any price transparency, I wanted to post this review to hopefully help someone!

Experiencia positiva: All of the artists and piercers are talented and professional, however the scented wall plug ins they use are so overwhelming i couldn’t be in there for longer than an hour without getting a migraine. Highly suggest you stop using these… All of the other tattoo charlie’s smell like normal shops just clean. But the lexington one smells like a sweet pea floral orgy :( I’m not the only person who is sensitive to these overpowering fake smells, so please just be more mindful to disabled folk & people with sensitive smell.

I also prefer to get all my body jewelry here too, which is always sterilized and packaged up for me with a little card description giving the jewelry details. Most of the other staff are super nice and welcoming as well!

I forgot the nice woman's name but she was able to quickly and relavtively painlessly fix it. I love having flat back earrings now. Experiencia positiva: I got a septum piercing from Miss Whitney Thompson. She was super friendly and knowledgeable from the second that I met her! She made all of my anxiety go away and answered every single question that I had. The price includes an aftercare solution as well as instructions on how to take out your piercing if need be, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants a pleasant piercing experience. And, on top of all of this I was in and out rather quickly. Update: my husband tried to get his piercing done by them taken out. No retainer. Just taken out completely. The receptionist must've had a bad day because he was a little hateful when telling him that he can't get it taken out at that location. We ended up going somewhere else to get it taken out.

I got an industrial piercing from Jordan and she did everything you should expect from a professional piercer. She explained everything she was doing thoroughly. This was my first visit and they definitely earned my loyalty.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a wonderful experience getting pierced by Whitney. She answered all my questions, showed me similar piercings she'd done, and told me about her experience/training/certifications. I told her I liked gold jewelry but didn't see any for my piercing type in the case, so then she used a machine called an anodizer to safely recolor my jewelry (which is titanium, I believe) to a yellow gold color! I tend to get super nervous for piercings, but she made me feel at ease and was very chill when I yelped and flinched at the moment of piercing lol. After the piercing, she gave me snacks and a glucose tablet to up my blood sugar since I was feeling kind of shaky, plus a thorough aftercare kit. She even wrote down the specs and price of some jewelry I liked but couldn't afford at the moment in case I want to get it in the future. The shop was very clean and everyone was so nice and professional - I'm excited to go back for future piercings!

Experiencia fantástica: Extremely professional- Even though I would rate their customer service as 5-stars as well, I left with the distinct impression that they place the integrity of doing something correctly above all else. I came in to get a replacement stud for my husband, and got distracted by the shiny on display, so I asked about getting a new, more interesting stud for my eyebrow piercing, but was informed that they couldn't suggest I buy it at the time. According to their piercing guy, based on when I'd gotten it done, it wasn't fully healed and should not be replaced yet. Let me rephrase that; They put me taking Good Care of my piercing over a fairly expensive purchase I would've otherwise made that day. They even suggested other businesses closer to where I live who could assist me in similarly good faith if I had any follow-up questions or issues with my piercing. It's hard to find a business that cares more about your actual wellbeing above making money that day.

My most recent one was not planned, I had scheduled to buy new jewelry, but ended up with the new jewelry and new piercing. Chad was awesome. I told him that I was apprehensive about getting my nose done because I had it done when I was younger and did not have the greatest experience and just seemed like a piercing I just couldn’t “have”.. he asked for my specifics, and told me his technique.., let’s just say I still have the piercing, everything he told me to expect has been true, and I still love it just as much as I did that day. 10/10 recommend! The appointments are built to make sure they can give you their full undivided attention and give you the personalized experience. (Whitney did my other two and she’s fabulous as well! Experiencia fantástica: I lost my uncle/best bud Kevin earlier this year. At 38 years old, I had zero tattoos but wanted to honor his memory with a collage design on the inside of my arm. I chose Tattoo Charlie’s because of how long they’ve been in business and their reputation. I chose Zach Mullins specifically because I saw his work featured on their website and the man is just an absolute artist by every definition of the word. My tattoo was a collage of different things that were just totally Kevin. The one thing I appreciated the most about the entire experience was the attention to detail that Zach put into my design. Part of the collage was a pair of black glasses because that’s what Kevin wore as well as Buddy Holly, and Kevin was a huge Buddy Holly fan. Without me even asking, Zach got on the Buddy Holly Museum website, got a picture of Buddy’s actual glasses that are on display at the museum, and that is what went on my arm. That is what I call going above and beyond. That is attention to detail and most people don’t put that kind of effort in, in any profession. Zach made me feel like this wasn’t just another tattoo job, but it meant the absolute world to me and so it meant the world to him too. He was 110% professional as far as cleanliness and safety was concerned as well. I loved the experience so much that I plan to get more tattoos and expand what is already done and without a doubt, Zach will do it. He’s just that good and this shop is just that awesome.

I would have NO issue travelling an hour or more to see her and often reccomend my friends (and anyone that will listen) to do the same. For a long time, she was the only APP piercer available in the state. Her respect for piercing and the safety of your body is obvious. I explicitly trust her. The environment is great, too. Clean and well lit, nothing overwhelming. I've been in doctor's offices that could take a lesson or two, to be honest. I would absolutely feel comfortable taking my child here for their first piercing. Take it from someone that has had a fair share of botched piercings from multiple other shops that I chose based on location or price when I was young... it's more than worth the distance, the wait, the money, or whatever else to get into Tattoo Charlie's. And honestly... all of what I mentioned is more than fair if you're comparing them to the right thing. For a long time I thought my body just couldn't handle piercings (I had 10+ failed attempts) before I finally learned that not everyone with a needle is skilled and trustworthy. Not every shop is stocked with quality jewelry. If you want your piercing to actually heal... those are the kinds of things you NEED. Whitney and the folk she trains have now given me 7 great piercings that healed well.

My tattoo is beautiful and I LOVED the Saniderm they put on it to keep it sanitary and clean. I've never had tattoo after care this easy. My ear cartilage piercing was also super easy. I wish my teenage self in the mid 90s had known about professional piercing! This has been my least painful ear piercing to date. Highly recommend this place. I will be back!

Experiencia negativa: Would not recommend. Everyone I’ve come in contact here comes across as arrogant and has a take you or leave you attitude. I went in to buy ear jewelry for my fiancé. The experience can be summed up as have you ever dealt with a person who didn’t do anything grossly negligent but at the same time had no interest whatsoever in helping you. That sums up my experience. When my fiancé later spoke to her boss she said it was because she was with a client which seems odd as I did not see her working with anyone and even waited until she was done speaking with someone to ask her any questions at all. She seemed irritated with my me from the start and never even mentioned they have a catalog or can order jewelry in the size I needed. At one point I had decided on what I wanted to purchase which was nearly $500 in merchandise and she looked at me and went to the back office as I waited for 10 more minutes before she realized I wasn’t leaving before she came back out to help me. I needed her to get jewelry out of the case so I could purchase it. I realize other people have had good experiences here and am not trying to vilify anyone as everyone has an off day. Misunderstandings and Miscommunications do occur. My problem is that when we tried to speak with someone later which we always do before writing a negative review they took no ownership of the poor customer service. We were met with more attitude and arrogance and were all but told they didn’t care about the experience or losing business. If you have a similar experience here I recommend going to alchemy for piercing and body jewelry. The customer service is much better and prices aren’t marked up 10-30% from what you will find online or at other stores

Experiencia fantástica: I got my nipples pierced here on 11/09 and Whitney was my piercer. Not only was she amazingly attentive to my needs, she also kept me well informed on both the care and aftercare of myself and my piercings. She eased my worries (new piercing nerves) and kept telling me that I was perfectly normal (when I shared body image issues). Truly one of the most amazing and attentive experiences I’ve ever had. Clean, sterile and badass workplace as well!! Cannot recommend Tattoo Charlie’s enough!!!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I got my first-ever ear piercing and I'm super glad I did it here :D it took more time for me to pick out the perfect set of earrings than it took to actually get the piercings done, and my piercer, Joshua, did a good job checking in on me shortly before and during the procedure which I greatly appreciated. I'm also grateful for the little care package I received which included a saline spraying solution, a business card to use in case I have any more questions and concerns, as well as a brochure with instructions on how to maintain my earrings and prevent infection. Needless to say, if I ever decide on getting more piercings or even tattoos, I'll definitely come back again and I'm very happy to have had a positive first experience with piercing after all the horror stories I've heard about cheap gun piercings at Claire's over the years.

Experiencia fantástica: Just recently moved here and wanted to find a good piercer. I messaged them because I ordered jewelry online and the threadless ends broke on them and one got stuck in my post so I wanted to get a small post again to wear and buy some jewelry. The message said to call them and so I did but no one answered and it said to call back or message them. So I messaged them again and got no answer. UPDATE: I finally got taken care of. They had many jewelry options which I was pleased about and were able to get me what I needed. Will definitely come back here for more jewelry in the future.

Experiencia fantástica: Took my wife here to get her ears pierced for her birthday. She had her ears pierced in the past but they were always painful and uneven. Chad walked us through the process and was amazing to work with. He was honest about everything, made sure we understood every step along the way and went above and beyond to make sure my wife was comfortable. I'll be sure to let anyone I talk to in the future this is the place to go for any Prost piercing needs.

The jewelry can be a little pricey, but it's very high quality and worth it. Will always come here for anything piercing related.

Experiencia fantástica: Got my first piercings done by Chad a few days ago. He was clearly very experienced at putting clients at ease and making sure everybody is comfortable. The piercing part sucked because I hate needles, but the aftercare has been an absolute breeze with his instructions. I've had no unexpected swelling, redness, or discomfort. Most of the time I forget that I have earrings now because it's been so pain-free. Definitely had a good experience here and I would come back for more piercings.

The piercers here are amazing at what they do and are very welcoming and kind. Whittney and Jordan are the two I always request to see, but every piercer here is reliable. If you’re unsure about where to go just trust me this is the best place in Lexington. I honestly would trust Whittney with my life at this point. Every piercing she’s done was quick, painless, and healed amazing. I would also go here if you are having any trouble with current piercings they have been great at tackling any problem and finding the best solutions.

They’re worth the price. They can even anodize it to make it silver to gold. I do it with all of my purchased pieces.

Experiencia fantástica: I've gotten my daith, double helix, and naval piercings here and I love this place! Very professional, friendly, and clean. They have lots of jewelry options and my piercer Jordan even ionized my jewelry so that it has a gold finish! Their piercings are affordable but get pricey depending on the jewelry you choose, so having that option is really nice. Most of the jewelry I'm wearing in the pictures are my own, but I got my naval and right daith jewelry from Charlie's at my recent appointment. The belly jewelry is jade and ionized surgical steel, and the daith is ionized surgical steel.

Experiencia fantástica: I went in to get a nose piercing and my second holes in my ears. The scheduling process was super easy and quick. Whitney and Miranda pierced me and they were both AMAZING. I definitely walked in a little nervous and Miranda was so quick to make me feel better with her sass (and I mean the very best type of sass). They both paid such good attention to detail and were so kind during the process. They made sure I was comfortable the entire time! I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for piercings!!

Experiencia fantástica: Took my 11-year-old to get her ears pierced. Whitney was very informative, fun, and took my daughter seriously. I loved it that she explained everything each step of the way and asked my daughter’s consent to do each part. The building was very clean, and everything was sterile/sanitized. It was a totally different experience than when I got my ears pierced by a teenager with an ear gun at the mall in 1993. We had to bring a notarized permission form/release, as well as my daughter’s birth certificate. The jewelry is titanium, and they use semi-precious stones, so it was a bit pricey. The earrings and piercing was almost $200, but I feel like we got our money’s worth. I will take my other girls here to get their ears pierced when they want to have it done.

Experiencia negativa: Got 2 lip piercings at a discount bc an apprentice did it (they did fine) which is a good thing because later I was charged 38 dollars for some guy to take the metal part of my jewelry out and replace it with a slightly smaller metal part. I realized at that moment that I should've done that bit myself. Maybe that's worth it and I'm just a silly little man; I got pierced for my birthday otherwise I'd have gone somewhere else probably. Note: I do think they deserved to be paid lol I'm just whining but that's what reviews are for

Experiencia fantástica: I got my helix piercing done here Friday Oct.12 and had an amazing experience here. Myself, my roommate (both got helix) and her boyfriend (nose) all came a week prior to choose our jewelry since they didn't have any open appointments that day. They had a large selection of jewelry which was great because we didn't have to use anything boring while our piercings healed. When we came for our appointments they got our jewelry ready and were very friendly. Our piercer was Luke and he was awesome! He explained everything that was going to happen, every step he was going to take and why, he was very clean in his technique and answered all of our questions and helped us pick the perfect location for each of our piercings. The piercing was even less painful that I thought it was going to be, he didn't make me feel nervous or stressed about it at all. It was a very well organized, relaxing experience. Very friendly, helpful, and supportive through the whole visit. He even talked to me about a piercing I was considering for later on and was honest about what the experience would likely be like (based on what his clients and friends had told him about their experiences with the snug piercing). And also told us things to look for in other places if we ever go somewhere else to get piercings done in the future. Overall it was an above-and-beyond experience. I will definitely be going back for my next one.
