I was so nervous since it’s my first tattoo and he was so encouraging and comforting the whole time, and made it the most exciting experience. I wanted something pretty dainty and was worried it would turn out to bold, he did a fine line tattoo and came out absolutely perfect. He even fixed an old stick and poke from my earlier days lol. My boyfriends had a couple big tattoos and he’ll only be coming back to Paul now! Great guy and so laid back and easy to talk to. Insanely talented

Experiencia negativa: I scheduled a consultation with Preston to have my first tattoo done. It was a medium sized piece on my forearm. The consultation went well and I explained as this was my first tattoo and I had a specific custom design in mind, I wanted to see the design ahead of time and work to get the product I want. I also clearly stated I was willing to pay for additional drawing time. I schedule an appointment to have the tattoo done 2 weeks out, so there would be time for this process. I hadn't heard anything 3 days before the appointment, and due to the 48hr cancellation policy I wanted to understand where we were in the process. I sent Preston a text which he did not respond to. Finally, I called Preston 2 days before my appointment. He was extremely defensive and interrupted me on multiple occasions. I understand Preston has other clients and priorities, but I was explicit in my expectations which he said he would be able to meet. I was willing to talk about rescheduling after I had seen a design, but I was abruptly told he would be sending me my money back after I told him that I allowed him to speak and would like him to extend me the same courtesy. Extremely disappointing in both the communication and customer service. I did receive my deposit back, so I will credit a second star for that.

Experiencia negativa: I want to share my experience at Aisle 9 Tattoo in Dayton to help others make informed decisions. I got tattooed by Luen, who initially came across as very kind and professional. He even bought me dinner during our session, which made me feel comfortable and confident in trusting him with my tattoo. I paid $2,200 for the piece, but during the session, he unexpectedly charged me an additional $200 without a clear explanation. I didn’t question it at the time because I was trying to stay focused on the experience and believed in his expertise. Unfortunately, the final result was deeply disappointing. The line work is thick and uneven, the shading is extremely grainy, and I experienced noticeable blowout. I was devastated to realize that I hated the tattoo I had waited so long to get. It wasn’t at all what I expected from a professional at that price point. When I reached out to Luen afterward to express my concerns, he made no effort to address the issue or offer any form of resolution. Now, I’ve started laser tattoo removal, which is expected to cost me around $5,000 on top of what I already paid. This experience has been emotionally and financially draining. I’m sharing this to encourage others to really do their research and be cautious about who they trust with permanent work on their body. Just because someone is kind during the process doesn’t always mean they’ll deliver the quality you deserve.

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing experience! This was my first time booking an actual appointment for a tattoo. (I’ve only done walk ins in the past at other shops). I had some anxiety coming into the appointment as it was my first bigger tattoo but Preston delivered an amazing tattoo! He took a simple idea and made it into something I’ll cherish forever! Experiencia fantástica: Where to even begin!!! I sent in a request of a picture of birth flowers. I wanted a flower for me, my boyfriend, and our daughter. I asked for something simple without much color and I was recommended to Preston! His Instagram is @tattsbypusha_p. He was very open and listened to what I wanted. We had our consult over text, got it all set, and I scheduled an appointment on Booksy. He had a bit of time available and it was super easy to get an appointment set up! When I got there the studio was absolutely beautiful. I forget who greeted me, but he was super nice and very welcoming. I LOVED the painting or drawing that they had up, it looked like someone was still working on it, it was massive, beautiful, and very relaxing to look at. I have 15+ tattoos and this shop is honestly the cleanest, most relaxing, and welcoming one I’ve been to. Back to Preston! He took his time, let me pick out my colors, and did such a beautiful job. I will be back in the future.

He came up with a design that didn't include a basketball but captured everything within the framework and meaning of what I wanted. She had a mandala design that resonated with me after my grandmother passed away last month. We did not have any services as our family is small. This was my way of having some closure to losing her. It’s been the hardest thing to accept. And I was able to just BE while I was there and remember my grandmother. Best tattoo experience I’ve ever had! Thank you, Ciara.

Experiencia fantástica: Aisle 9 Tattoo Studio is a first class establishment. The whole staff is friendly and very kind. Luen was my artist and he is amazing. He explained everything in detail. This was my first tattoo and this experience with Luen already has my thinking of my next one. This tattoo was a memorial of our dog of 13 years. He captured her paw and nose print.

Experiencia negativa: My 1st encounter was pleasant. To the point where I went back for an additional ink session. That's where it started to crumble. It was not what I asked for, so I reached out to their email contact. Shortly after I received a notification that the owner would like to see/address the failure. So we met up. He ensured me it was salvageable, in which he worked some magic. However, we weren't able to completely touch-up/fix the entire tattoo. So he requested I let it heal for more time. Okay, absolutely no problem. Then after 3-4 weeks of additional healing I started reaching out to the owner. I went days, even weeks without a reply, via text, call anything. So I reached out to their email contact person again. Shortly after I received a reply to my many text to the owner. So once again I am still attempting to locate him for what is hopefully the absolute last to fix the second tattoo. Once again, I am not receiving replies. Not a single, I'm busy, I have some issues going on etc. Mind you I started this around April. We're almost in July. I have been nothing but patient and understanding, but I'm getting to the point of running out of patience. So I have a 3/4 way complete tattoo and cannot get it completely finished/fixed. I have a total of three tattoos. The second and third are a mess and need fixed. I typically review most places I go, visit etc. So that's why I am leaving this review. An update to my first review, My experience may not happen to anyone there, I am not sure. What I do know is I have two that need fixed and cannot get a appointment to do so. Heading into three months since the initial encounter. What I do know, is this has been nothing but a nightmare and I will continue to attempt getting these fixed and then I will go elsewhere. We ARE NOW IN MID OCTOBER. NOT A CALL, TEXT, ANYTHING FROM THE OWNER MATT. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

Experiencia fantástica: I went in to get my forward helix pierced and Aubree did a fantastic job. She was very thorough with explaining the process and the type of jewelry she was going to use. The actual piercing was almost painless. I have quite a few piercings and this was by far my best experience getting pierced. The shop was also extremely clean and well maintained. If you are thinking about getting a piercing here I highly recommend Aubree.

Experiencia fantástica: Aubree Bryant is a wonder! So so sweet, and really put me at ease during the piercing process. I had been badly pierced before at a different studio, which made me apprehensive to do it again. Aubree explained that she uses the highest quality materials when piercing, and I can definitely see the difference in my healing now compared to my last experience. During the process she walked me through everything she was doing before she did it, so I could know what to expect and what was going on. She was gentle, informative, and very thorough. I had a wonderful experience and I can't wait to go back and get more piercings!

The level of detail is amazing and he was very patient with this being my first tattoo. My only complaint is that it hurt like hell, but there's nothing you can do about that

Experiencia fantástica: My mom and I came in for matching tattoos on the foot as well as a flower I got on my hip. We had the pleasure of getting the art done by De'ville who did an amazing job. They came out just the way we wanted and his line work was incredible! He was so nice and polite the whole time it made getting my first couple tattoos the easiest it could've been. He also helped get me in an appointment the day before which was super convenient. Such a great atmosphere and experience.

Experiencia fantástica: Have been to many tattoo shops all across the country but I must say when I tell you that Aisle 9 is the best out of all of them I mean it! Not only do they have some of the most talented artists around but they make it a point to make sure you belong. Deville has been my artist for 2 sessions now (with more planned for the future) and he has done not only incredible work but has made me feel welcomed on top of making sure that my piece was to my liking. The atmosphere is wonderful along with many of the artists there who take the time to not only check in on you but take the step above to learn your name and make that connection with you. I will not be going to any shops in the future, and can proudly say this is a shop that I would recommend to anyone.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been speechless since receiving my tattoo yesterday by Tim and there are not enough words to explain how happy I am with the artwork, process and staff. Not to mention my friends reactions to my tattoo are also overwhelmingly positive! I will never forget this day and experience. Setting up a consultation was incredibly easy and I liked how I could just send my ideas and they partnered me with Tim. Trying to find an artist on my own was frustrating so I’m glad that was done for me. I’ve followed Matt Clemmer on IG for some time and I knew Aisle 9 was the best, so there was no question this is where I was going. Tim was so kind during our consult and I had a lot of ideas and changes but never felt like I was a burden. I was super nervous since this was only my 2nd tattoo and largest but Tim was so great and always checking to make sure I was okay. There was also an apprentice and she checked on me frequently. I appreciated that since I was there by myself. The shop itself is a cute, old house and the vibe was perfect. I can’t say enough good things about Aisle 9, Tim and everyone else! Thank you so much for this easy and unforgettable experience and now a forever memory. I wouldn’t go anywhere else and I will tell everyone about you guys!

She used a reference photo from me to create a uniquely designed tattoo, and the outcome is 10/10. I totally plan on booking Beck again in the future!

I’ve previously gotten tattoos at three other shops but can only see myself returning to Aisle 9 in the future. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, welcoming and professional. My artist, Evan was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions and took his time making sure my tattoo was just right and that I was satisfied every step of the process. They are a higher price shop compared to others in the area, but you get what you pay for and my experience felt luxurious!

He explained all of the steps as he went, asked about my comfort with things, and allowed breaks during the work for both of us to stretch. During the work, other artists came over to check on the progress and you could tell they all supported each other well. Great work, great person, great shop!

Beck does amazing work and the other artists are always hard at work creating amazing work on the skin of other patrons. I’m not entirely finished with my tattoo but I’m so happy with how things have gone and look forward to my final session for this piece.

Experiencia fantástica: Alexis is a professional! She listened to what I wanted while gently giving her opinion. In Dec '22, I took a design of another artist, and she very respectfully used it. In Apr '23, she added mini flowers which were her own design. She worked on the placement until I was satisfied. She is so patient, kind, and a pleasure to spend time. She makes the pain worthwhile!

They even have bowls of candy, snacks and drinks to make sure you stay hydrated and keep your blood sugar up. Mike does amazing and precise work on tattoos. Everyone is professional and the shop is beautiful. The owner and the Aisle 9 team are the best!

Deville was also extremely intelligent and we had some great conversations while getting tattooed. He is amazing and made the process easy, great with communication to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. His talent is awesome and did such an amazing job for my daughter. Of all the tattoos I’ve had, this was the best experience *by far* from start to finish. I knew at the consultation appointment that I chose the right artist for Brenda and me. Beck made sure she understood my vision and communicated so well. She spent time with me at the start of our appointment to make sure the image was sized and placed perfectly. It was the most comfortable I’ve ever been at a tattoo shop. If you’re looking to invest in yourself through permanent art, I can’t recommend Beck enough!

Beck is one of my very favorite people and an absolute pleasure to work and talk with. She takes the time to listen and give her own professional advice for things like placement, size, etc. The shop itself is always clean and tidy, and all of the artist I’ve interacted with there have been the kindest, easy going people. If you’re looking to collect some new artwork this is the shop for you, I have only had work done by Beck but there are so many amazing artists that work in different styles here, there really is someone for everyone’s taste.

The tattoo that I wanted was I tribute to my late father, and Trusty understood and worked it until I was fully satisfied.
