Experiencia fantástica: I got my nipples pierced by Noel and it was a great experience! The process was quick and she made me feel really comfortable and confident the whole time. She’s very kind, welcoming, and professional. I will definitely be back! She also let me know that I don’t have a pierce-able belly button, which honestly made so much sense! My first two belly button piercings from another shop in Ohio never healed, and now I understand why. Noel explained that when I sit, my belly button closes and becomes flat, which makes it unsuitable for a piercing! If a professional piercer tells you that your anatomy isn’t right for a certain piercing (belly button, nose, ears, etc.), trust them! A good piercer cares more about your safety and healing than just doing the piercing.

Experiencia negativa: Blue Horse Shoe Tattoo Shop Making everyone in Hampton roads Virginia aware that my daughter and I came here to get her bellybutton pierced not only was she told that she cannot get every piercing she asked for just because the anatomy of her body, even though her sister with the same belly button was able to get her bellybutton pierced at the same place , but we were also required to provide legal documentation for everyone with me I had to ask for clarification because not everybody with me was getting a piercing but originally he asked for everyone to provide documentation.  I don’t know, but it seems kind of strange to me. I’ve had piercings. I’ve had tattoos and I’ve never had anyone say to me. I need to see everyone’s documentation.  The employees were not attentive and extremely dismissive. I felt as if I was not welcomed from the moment I reached the door. My daughter’s anatomy was regected without them, even touching the skin of her ear or the skin of her belly button to determine the thickness, which is the reason she was given for not being able to receive her piercing. I believe that the determination was based on how her skin looked and not actually the anatomy of her body being that no one touched her body to determine rather what they thought was actually factual.

Experiencia fantástica: I had the amazing experience of being able to Be pierced here. I originally went in to have my belly button redone. After talking to the piercer it was recommended and told that it couldn't/shouldn't be done and doing a whole new one would just look bad. First off thank you for being honest and not just taking my money. I ended up getting my nose done on the other side. The jewelry price is separate from the piercing price. I got a bada$$ leaf village Naruto nose stud and filled out the form. Super quick and easy. She took the time to make measurement to make sure it was even with my other side and my septum. Even had me put my feet up and lay back. Super quick and easy and absolutely loved it! Thank yall!

Experiencia fantástica: This place is always full of awesome employees but Id extra like to thank Jess and (I am so sorry I did not get their name) the other employee who was working with Jess (they have shoulder length hair that I believe is a blondish orange, sorry!) A ton. Me and my husband went and got piercings a couple weeks or so ago and they were great. I got a cartilage piercing done at around 6 or 8g and have had some issues healing it due to my health. Jess has been SO SO helpful and quick to answer any questions and even helped me out when the tunnel fell out and I lost it. They are so kind and seem genuinely excited to be part of your piercing journey. Its always wonderful when you can tell someone has a true passion for their job, and the employees here really do seem passionate. I will certainly be returning for future piercings and tattoos. I recommend you check them out!! 10/10 ♡

Although I was initially a bit nervous, he immediately put me at ease with his calm and friendly demeanor. Before I knew it, the session was over, and I felt completely comfortable throughout. The studio had a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, and every staff member I interacted with was kind and approachable. It was truly an unforgettable experience, and I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a tattoo.

Experiencia negativa: Rhino was speaking down to me the whole time because i am young, and told me i should 'respect my elders' when i refused to tell him where i worked. he dry needled me for 30 minutes. it cost $240, the most painful tattoo i have ever gotten and it looks like shit, quite frankly. RHINO SUCKS!!!!!

Aftercare kit and $20 coupon off next service, and touch ups if needed for a year...not too shabby. I could see myself going back.

Experiencia negativa: I usually go to Lucky 13 in Richmond and have gotten 7 of my 9 piercings there without any problems. This time, I decided to try this shop because my sister recommended it. She had mentioned that she was dealing with a bump for months after her piercing here, but since it was closer to me in Portsmouth, I gave it a try. I had both my conch and a second (double) nostril piercing done here. At first, everything seemed fine, but it’s now been about 9 months since my conch piercing and I’ve been struggling with a persistent bump for about a month and a half now. My nose piercing has also developed a bump that I’ve never experienced with any of my other piercings. The bump on my nostril, just went away this week after 3 weeks. I’ve followed proper aftercare with saline solution and have always healed well in the past, so this has been very frustrating. I can’t say for sure whether the issue was related to the needle angle, technique, or the type/sizing of the jewelry, but I’ve never had these kinds of problems at my usual shop. I just wanted to share my experience for others who may be considering this location.

Experiencia fantástica: Went with my daughter, while visiting her recently for her to get a newe tattoo and had a great experience. Was greeted immediately upon entering and made to feel right at home. Everyone was so friendly and personable. When the artist who did her tattoo asked her what she was looking for, he drew up a design in a short time and it was exactly what we both pictured and even more. It was a pretty large tattoo and he did it fairly quickly,in my opinion and it was absolutely beautiful work. He held great conversation and was constantly checking on her and seeing how she was doing and if she needed a break or anything, which as a mom I loved. I think the price was very reasonable for the work that was done and it included an aftercare kit. Next time I visit, I'm going to get a tattoo there myself. Really good energy and nice, very clean, environment. I would definitely recommend it

Experiencia negativa: so I had came here recently for my birthday and i had gotten a tattoo done and it seemed like just a simple tattoo not to big or to small on my wrist and the person was rhino i believe , he wasn’t the nicest but i still was trusting him bc i had seen his work online and man when i tell you it’s nothing like it , this how my tattoo looks pls don’t waste your time..

I had to get a longer post after a mishap at the virginia beach location but they fixed it and made my day much better. Thank you so much to the ladies that helped me.

Experiencia positiva: I was in the shop today. My piercer was absolutely amazing and I’m really pleased with my nose piercing. However, I got a Red Cross tattoo and a nose piercing. During the tattoo process I was a bit apprehensive but continued on to see the finished product, once taking off the wrap after the hour time period, I am sad to say I am displeased with the way it turned out. There are thinner/more scarce areas throughout it, the lines are not definite, and it honestly looks and seems like someone drew it on with a marker. I have been to this establishment 2 times, and I really do appreciate the staff, However $120 for the tattoo I received today, is unacceptable and I honestly just need a resolution. Although I am submitting this online I will also be back in the store tomorrow to see what can be done. Thank you.

She was so kind and fun. They had so much jewelery to choose from and the placement was PERFECT. She took so much time with us and made us feel so comfortable. The place itself is spotless. You can tell they take measures to keep everything as sanitary as possible. The ladies at the front desk also gave a warm welcome and were extremely helpful. The pricing was reasonable. Experiencia negativa: Usually I don’t do reviews but my piercing have been a nightmare . I received a nose piercing and Tragus both have received before years ago somewhere else & healed fine . These recent piercing happened in January . Worst experience , have bumps and my warning signs should’ve been when a guy who came into the shop to talk to the same piercer who did his & was about to do mines . This young man had his nose pierced had a bump but I ignored and I shouldn’t have . My nose bump just went done after 3 months and my left ear Tragus has not and I think it has to do with the fact that in how she angled the needle downward against the direction of tissue and muscle and using a short bar instead of leaving the long bar back that came with the original jewelry. I received my right ear Tragus from the Va beach location healed perfectly fine no issues at all. Va beach location had someone there that use to be a nurse did it perfectly and left the jewelry as is .. so now I’m taking out my left one letting heal than going to Va beach location to find the exact person to pierce it because this isn’t it at all!! I don’t even want to post the photo because it looks really bad

Experiencia negativa: So i came in 3/29 phone died so I couldn't view the artists. 3/30 I come back off the receptionist (looking for a new tattoo shop) I view Brandon and im like okay I could get with em. I want to start on my left leg a tribute to my grandma who passed away 2yrs ago an I have some of her art work on my phone I wanted on my leg. I showed him them an instead of him just saying he can't do it which woulda been respectful he goes on a tangent on how it wouldn't look good, started showing me traditional tattoos on his phone, an essentially down played in a ight manner of how my idea wasn't a good one at all and wouldn't be looking good an would have to be explained and it'd look like 'a bunch of stuff' on my leg. Mind you my leg is a clear canvas and I wasn't looking to start today. I only give 1 star because the ladies at the desk were completely nice

Experiencia negativa: My spouse went in to get a replacement hoop for an existing lip piercing. The receptionist was very condescending and when they did speak to the piercer, she tried to convince them that their piercing would have closed up in an hour’s time after their jewelry fell out and they needed to get a new flat labret. I suspect she wanted to try and charge for a full piercing. When she found out that they only wanted a hoop, she did not bother looking at my spouse’s lip to determine the proper size and gave them the run-of-the-mill small hoop that ended up being too tight anyways. She clearly did not care to help past wanting to make a sale. Very rude and unprofessional.

Experiencia negativa: Okay so I didn’t even have time for this and honestly still don’t but my daughter pushed me to post this. It’s really nothing that was done wrong it’s just the vibe I received from a particular tattoo artist. Don’t know his name but he’s a heavy set black man wears a black vest. I’m a plus size black woman btw so I’m just using that description because I don’t know his name. Anyway my daughter and I went in a few days ago and wanted to price and possibly get tattoos. He already started off when I showed him the image I wanted talking about the size of my arm and shaking his head like that’s going to be a lot. He told me a typical arm is around $300 for what I wanted and mine would cost $450 but he should charge $500. I’m 292lbs btw lol…I told him I know and it’s no problem. But he really couldn’t do the image I wanted because he couldn’t draw flowers to complete a small part of the back side so I said ok and I looked at other peonies…but I wasn’t feeling good about. My daughter wanted a finger length and 2 finger width size cloud and ART on her neck. The lady tattoo artist that wears glasses also a black lady told her $150 for the cloud and $150 for ART but she would do $250z I was like that’s ok and left. Now their prices are their prices so I have nothing to say about that. It’s my choice to pay or not but I said no. I had no problem with the price of mine. We stopped at other tattoo shops that couldn’t do it that day but three other shops priced hers at $150 all together. I received a quote for mine at $375 (Ancient Art) and another at $450(American Tattoo). But anyway so we had to go back on Saturday to have my daughters dermal face piercing looked at cause it was starting to lift. (Also let me add that we have never had problems here. I have had piercings and my daughter received all her piercings here and the ladies are more than helpful funny nice and thoughtful. Caring even) so we’re sitting down waiting for Jessica and this same guy who quoted me for my tattoo came over and I’m thinking he’s asking something about the tattoo I was in for the other day and he says ma’am we don’t allow people to be on speakers in here I can hear the echo over here where I’m sitting. I said huh I was so confused I was like I’m not even on my phone. I had no idea what he was talking about but he said he was sorry twice and went back to his station. I never saw him try to find out where the echo came from so that was more than weird. Ok so I’ll say what I wanted to say that day but had decided it wasn’t even worth my time. I get a bad vibe from these two tattoo artist but mainly the guy. He never smiled never communicated in anyway except for telling me repeatedly about the size of my arm and the price. I mean not one smile or nice comment anything that makes people more comfortable to have someone working on your skin. So I would never get a tattoo here and I thank the lord that the lady tattoo artist gave a ridiculous price for my daughters tattoo and I left. I ended up getting the tat I wanted from “my guy” who suddenly became available lol for $375 and my daughter got both hers done for $100. I paid this guy a $65 tip so $540 in all. I included a picture of both our tats.

I have come SEVERAL times and NEVER had my piercing done crooked, jewelry piece fall out within hours, and replacement jewelry different from the original jewelry I selected but they acted like it was the right one knowing full blown well it was not. Then the nose piercing is placed in wrong spot to get the hoops I informed them I want to eventually get. Just SUPER disappointed.My sister was supposed to come another day...I told her noooooo we gotta find a new place....smh

Experiencia fantástica: This was my second time getting my nipples pierced, the first time was not at this location and was very painful. My second go around here at blue horseshoe , I was serviced by (Noel) and she was amazing. She gave me a lot of information, picked my brain with fun facts , and made me feel extremely comfortable. She allowed me to know when she started the piercing , guided me through breathing with ease, and was very precise on the position of the piercing. Pain rating was a 3/10 and believe me my first time was a solid 10. I was able to touch my nipples (while my shirt was on) and feel no pain. even the cleaning part had no pain! (which normally would sting a little) 10/10 highly recommend! Ask for NOEL !

Experiencia negativa: I have always been very nice when i have visited this place and i regret everytime i leave. Literally all the artists that work here always have an attitude. I asked about a certain tattoo and the guy was like well that’s a lot of line work. and saying it’s gonna take long. Basically acting like he didn’t wanna do it. why would i want to continue getting a tattoo from you? he then goes back w his co workers and let’s out the biggest sigh and she says i’m sorry. why is it so hard to be nicer?? i’ve come here and spent lots of money and none of those times has anyone treated me with any respect. DO BETTER!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Lena, Anna, and Noel are so friendly and I love them all. Noel has done both of my nose piercings and is so sweet! Lena and Anna chatted while we waited for our turn to be pierced and we all had a blast. Love it here, will be recommending and coming back!

Experiencia fantástica: Really cool place, I've only been to this specific location for one of my Tattoos but it was my first! Very clean and kind people that'll help you out with what you need. My tattoo artist Jimmy was amazing, really gentle and explained aftercare to me. I've had experiences at other places where they were too heavy handed and I had a blow out but he did amazing and my tattoo looks great healed!

I was very very nervous because I pass out easily. she was so comforting and literally talked me through each step and made me so relaxed and I didn't even faint. she is the absolute best and so quick!!!!!! she will be my only piercer from now on.

Experiencia fantástica: I was skeptical because I lived in, and know, the area and it has a reputation for "that part of town". I decided to give BHT a chance and I'm so glad I did. I brought an idea but Paulie put a twist on it that made the real thing even better, and he was super patient. The outline looks sooo cool and my mans (who I got it for) loves it. As a huge Buccanners fan, I quote, "That goes hard AF." Now I won't post a pic here, but know the tattoo is sick. I got a custom tat that came out to $300, which included color, design, consult, ink, and labor fees. The work, the artists, pleasant experience. BHT was recommended to me by 3 people (one listed an artist "Sarah". I did not work with her on my visit.) I'll recommend Paulie at BHT. UPDATE: I am super excited that 1 month later, while it was a loooong wait (no thanks to my beloved head voices) I got my tat finished! Thank goodness Paulie was available and remembered exactly what the design was. This (though still healing) looks absolutely sick and badass!

Experiencia negativa: Called last week to inquire about my son getting his ears pierced. Lady on the phone said he has to be 6 yrs and over and it's walk in. Me and my 9 year go in this morning to be told I had to make an appointment and I need his birth certificate. Was this not information to include in the phone call I just had with your establishment recently?

Experiencia negativa: I got a tattoo done on my birthday and was super excited about it. When I came in they said no one was available and I had to wait. Well Rhino, the manager, was about to leave but decided to stay. He made it SUPER obvious that he would’ve rather left and was so disinterested in doing my tattoo. When he was doing the actual tattoo he took a phone call from his wife and told me that he was supposed to be at a football game right now and how his wife is made at him because he was supposed to have been gone at that point. That being said, he rushed through the whole thing. All of the lettering was crooked and super sloppy. In fact not even 3 days after I got the tattoo, some of the letters started disappearing. However, I did get a different tattoo from Brandon about two years ago that has healed beautifully and he was a great artist.

Experiencia fantástica: I went in for a last minute tattoo with my baby brother and my sister for a surprise sibling birthday tattoo with them. It took a short time for Rhino to stencil it out for us. He did an amazing job not letting my brother see what he was getting!!! (All part of the plan!) Lol. The staff was so nice and the piercer was so gentle with changing my rings out for me!!!! Thanks you guys! My brother had a birthday he will never forget!!!

Experiencia negativa: Don't go here “People.” It’s too expensive!! I’ve gone in for a Tattoo, as a walk-in the artists are very disrespectful, they give off a personality impression of “I don’t want to be here at work.” Also their piercings are ridiculously high in pricing, titanium and stainless steel selections. $110.50 for a nose piercing?! No thank you!! I’ll be going to a piercing location elsewhere. Also your tattoo artists over price a lot, got a piece done here in 2023, I was charged $350 for a small spider the size of my thumb.

Experiencia negativa: Rating: -100/10 I’m not usually one to leave bad reviews, in fact this is my very first, but this time it’s necessary. I recently came here to get a tattoo as a walk in appointment. Let me preface by saying I totally understand that this was a walk in appointment, however there is a certain unsaid rule about what you expect in terms of quality when you go to get a tattoo, appointment or not. When my friend and I walked in, I had a very clear idea of what I wanted done (reference picture is the first image below). Upon talking to the artist, Paulie, I made sure to let him know that I was getting this tattoo to cover up scars, so it was very meaningful to me. We agreed that he would draw up a sketch so as to not copy the original artist’s work. He took some time to draw up a new stencil and I really liked the way the drawing looked, image also below (second image), so I agreed to continue on with the tattoo. Once the stencil was placed, I still really enjoyed the way it looked so we agreed to get started. However, before we started, I made it very clear that I wanted the lines more on the dainty side, as seen in the original inspo picture, and I also wanted very minimal shading, if any at all. He started doing the line work and it was off to a great start. The first leaf he did looked great! The lines were thin and the line thickness was consistent. As he gets further into the tattoo, it starts getting painful, which causes me to not pay as much attention to how he is tattooing (I don’t believe I should have to double check the quality of the work as it’s being done, but). Eventually the line work was completed and initially, it looked fine to me (I was also trying not to pass out so my full attention was not on the consistency of the tattoo at the time). He then says he’s going to start shading and once again I mention that I’d like it to be minimal. Once he gets about halfway through the shading, I take a look and it is way darker and taking up more of the tattoo than I had expected from what we discussed. his response was something along the lines of “don’t worry, it’ll lighten up once it’s healed”. I took his word for it (which I realize is partially my fault) and let him continue. Again, the pain gets bad enough that I’m really not paying attention for a while. As he’s finishing up, I take another peek and see this smokey shading in the background of my tattoo that was never once discussed. We had only discussed minimal shading in the leaves and branches, nothing in the background. I told him I absolutely did not like it and again, he just said something along the lines of “when it heals it’ll be a lot lighter”. My (and multiple other tattoo artist’s opinions from different shops) suspicion as to why he did this background smoke shading without my permission, was to try to cover the blown out lines that he had previously tattooed. when the tattoo was completed, I said I didn’t like it, and again he dismissed me. For the next 48 hours I was having a panic attack because of how poorly it was done and how incredibly different it was from what I asked for (which I understand is a bit dramatic). I went to another shop two days later to get their opinion and make sure I wasn’t being overdramatic, and they told me it was, in fact, a horrible tattoo with blown out, inconsistent lines, inconsistent shading, and was completely different than my reference and even the stencil. Because I’m so unhappy with the tattoo, they recommend that i have it lasered since it is too dark to try to cover. Now I have a consult in a couple weeks to when I can have it removed, because an artist at the Blue Horseshoe in Hampton cannot produce quality work. I will update as I have more laser appointments. Update: I called the shop and asked to speak to the manager about coming to some sort of resolution. When I asked, he laughed in my face (well, phone I guess) and said it wasn’t his problem anymore because the artist had already been paid. It was extremely rude and disrespectful.

Experiencia positiva: My piercer (Dan) was great! I got pierced last Friday by him (nipples, belly button, and septum) However, the front desk woman named Bri was very rude. She seemed annoyed by having to do the bare minimum. She seemed very passive aggressive and just overall not friendly.

Experiencia fantástica: My tattoo artist was a man named 3 hole Joel. Great dude, kept asking me if I’ve ever been to the dugout. Told me he’d could make me a catcher tonight. I’m not even a baseball fan, but he pitched a great game. 10/10 would definitely come again

Experiencia positiva: I have been here twice now. One of the ladies I do not vibe with she looks at me in disgust when I asked about the jewelry/ questions about piercings. It’s almost like she is annoyed that I am there. The way she asked me to fill out the consent forms she just has some attitude about her( also when I asked where the ATM was she just is like rude) I’m not really sure what it is but the other ladies were great and nice. The other girl who works at the store has been great both times that I’ve gone, she’s answered all my questions I’ve had. I’m not sure who did my piercing but she’s very quick got the job done, very professional. I went in to have my nose pierced and my daith and tragus jewelry put back in and I am so grateful she could get them in. I wouldn’t go back to buy jewelry only for the fact that one of the workers just doesn’t have the greatest attitude about doing her job. But I would go back if I wanted another piercing by the same lady.

Experiencia fantástica: Dropped in to get help with my nose stud. Just needed a change! Everyone was just as friendly & professional as they were when I first got pierced. Adam is great and knows what he's doing! If you're gonna get pierced, this is the place to do it. Highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: 15 years ago I got my ears pierced by a piercing gun at the mall. The holes closed up and I decided to get them pierced again but this time with a sterile needle at blue horseshoe tattoo. I told the staff I don't like needles but I knew it was better to go this route; they reassured me it wouldn't be bad. It def. Hurt a little more than a piercing gun but my ears healed so much faster and better! I wish I could remember the names of the woman who helped me pick out my earrings and the woman who actually pierced my ears. They made the experience a lot more entertaining and they even offered me a lollipop due to me being nervous lol I'm considering my first tattoo and I think I'll come here just because of this experience.
