Hyper clean establishment and sick stickers/shirts to boot. Take your time to review the portfolios to know which artist’s work best matches your vision. Even if you have to wait awhile for your appointment, it’s worth it.

I got a scorpion tattoo and it came out exactly how I wanted clean lines and solid detail. My tattoo artist Bryan knew his stuff. What made it even better for me is that the whole shop has a real love for skateboarding, which I instantly connected with. The vibe was relaxed, creative, and genuine. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to and recommending to others.

Jorge was our artist and absolutely killed it. it was our first tattoo for both of us, and he made us feel very comfortable and walked us through each step of the process. he was personable and funny, but still professional. the tattoo came out perfect and even better than i had imagined!!! the shop itself is not your stereotypical dark and intimidating vibe, which i liked a lot. lots of natural light and a friendly environment. i truly don't have enough good things to say!! walk-in sign ups fill up quick, so i recommend getting there right at 10. we signed up at around 10:30 and were numbers 11 and 12 on the list, but were not called in until 3:15, to give you an idea.

The shop is amazing, my tattoos are spectacular, and I always look forever to working with David. He is such an amazing artist and has helped me build the most epic sleeve so far, would trust him even if I was blindfolded the whole time!!

Nothing to really compare them to but if anyone ever asked me where to go in Durham I'd definitely send them here.

Experiencia negativa: Update: Their response is what I expected from such a predatory place. What they’re doing is not only unethical but against consumer protection principles. If you’ve been screwed over by this place, send me a message - we’ll fight this together. TLDR: I’ve been tattooed for hundreds of hours across studios nationwide. This shop had poor communication, misleading pricing, unprofessional scheduling mistakes, & the rudest customer service I’ve ever encountered. Their shady deposit policy traps clients & they showed zero empathy when I had a genuine emergency. Review: I’ve spent hundreds of hours in tattoo chairs across the country, worked with over 50 artists in all kinds of studios & I’ve never experienced treatment this unprofessional or dismissive. I booked an appointment with this shop months in advance & the communication issues started right away. The artist barely responded, I had to follow up multiple times & when I asked about a discounted piece she posted on IG, the whole interaction was cold & unfriendly. I understood the discount was same-day only but after paying my deposit I was shocked to learn the tattoo would be $150 more than the discounted price (a bigger jump than I’ve ever seen). When I expressed concern, she was rude. I almost canceled then but I loved the art enough to move forward. Then came the scheduling disaster. We had discussed “the 14th,” so I showed up on 8/14 only to be told the artist wasn’t even in town and my appointment was for 9/14. No apology, just blame. I lost that entire day because of their mistake. Still, I gave them another chance. Fast forward to my actual appointment day. The night before, I had to rush my dog to the ER at 1 AM & was there until almost 8 AM. My dog was still extremely sick & after being awake all night, I didn’t know if I could physically sit through a 3+ hour tattoo. At 5 AM I messaged the artist directly, letting her know I might not make it & offering to either confirm closer to time or let her repost my spot. Her only response was to “call the studio.” When I did, the person who answered the phone had the most condescending mean girl attitude I’ve ever heard. Fake sweet, high-pitched, sarcastic, disgusting customer service. I explained the situation, including my sick dog, my own health, & the fact that I was still trying to make it work despite everything. Her response? That I’d lose my $105 deposit (including a $5 Venmo fee they make clients cover-CHEAP) & would have to pay another $105 to reschedule. Here’s the kicker: only the 2bd deposit would apply toward the tattoo. The 1st one is gone forever. That is NOT standard in this industry. In all my years of getting tattooed, most shops allow at least 1 reschedule & if you do have to pay another deposit, both deposits always go toward your tattoo. This shop’s “policy” is buried in a dropdown FAQ on their website (never explained upfront) & is intentionally shady. Even after I told her everything & that I was struggling financially (especially after dropping $1500 at the vet), she repeated in a fake sing-song voice: “I hope you understand, because it’s not fair to the artist.” No compassion, no flexibility, no professionalism. Just threats & attitude. She even told me I had 30 mins to decide whether I wanted to come in, despite me calling more than 5 hours before my scheduled appointment. I ended up trying to get myself together enough to find a pet sitter & get on my feet but I almost immediately blacked out & physically couldn’t even stand. When I was finally able to check my phone, I had multiple rude texts from them. Absolutely unbelievable. I’ve been tattooed in walk-in biker shops, upscale private studios, & everywhere in between. Never EVER have I been treated with this level of disrespect. This shop clearly thinks they’re above their clients, when in reality they’re running on predatory business practices & toxic customer service. The art may be good but art isn’t worth being treated like garbage. If you value your time, money, or dignity, do not waste it here.

I’ve been getting non-stop compliments on the 3 small hand and wrist tattoos he did for me. I was in and out in no time and they negotiated a fair price for my works. I’ll be back for more!

The shop is welcoming — a bright, creative, happy space — and the artists are true professionals. They have good input on tattoo design and placement, and they don’t make you feel bad if you ask for adjustments on either. The materials are super clean! My first tattoo healed perfectly and my second one is healing well after a week. The prices are consistent with high-quality work!

Everybody was really nice and friendly, I saw some amazing pieces getting done. But back to my tattoo experience, I made my appointment with Jacob Porter about 3 weeks ago. I found him by doing months and months of research on looking for a new artist. I KNEW I went with the right person, he's so good at what he does, I absolutely LOVE my new piece. I told him my idea during our consult and he made it so much better than I even imagined. The linework is PERFECT, shading is , everything about my new tattoo is so beautiful. Everybody that's seen it has lost their minds over how gorgeous it is. Not only did I get the best tattoo, but Jacob was really cool to sit and bs with. It always helps when I'm distracted so we talked about the most random stuff and he let me run my mouth for a long time. As long as I'm living in this area Jacob is stuck with me as a client. I'm so happy I found the right tattoo artist in such a cool and very clean shop. This place is definitely the place to go, y'all!

Experiencia fantástica: The shop was super friendly. I called in just to check if they accept walk ins and the receptionist said they will try and will reach out to me if they become available. Of course, I was cool with that. But then she called and I got a slot. I showed Kohen what I wanted and made a change when I got there and he didn’t even complain, went to the back did his magic and next thing I know, my vision was made into reality. I am so happy. Woke up with a decisive thought to get a tattoo, and Kohen executed it beautifully. Will be coming back ! Thanks Kohen and team!

My friend and I had a hard time scheduling out our appointment with other stuff we had to do that day and they were super patient and understanding with us. The place was clean, well kept, and just really relaxing. It was just such a great time and we're so happy with our tattoos.

Experiencia positiva: Great tattoo and great shop. Really great atmosphere and professional staff. My only complaint is the price. When I came in for a consultation I was advised the requested tattoo would cost between $80 and $100; however, I was charged $200 in the end for what I thought was a relatively simple design (that only took 10 minutes to do).

I have been tattooed by almost every artist in the shop and have always had a great experience! Everyone here is so nice and knowledgeable. They have always made me feel comfortable. Experiencia fantástica: You go before they open and put your name on their list. They’ll call you 30-45 mins before they’re ready for you. A great system for weekend walk ins for sure. Staff was friendly and professional. It’s been about a week, and my tattoo has had very little irritation, itching or redness. This could be a coincidence but still very pleased! It’s a bit pricey from what I’m used to, but given the hassle free, professional experience for a Durham based business, it was well worth it!

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been tattoo’ed at welcome by a couple of the artists and they do incredible work! Very clean and comfortable environment. The artists are great at communicating and helping with fit and placement. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a first tattoo or adding to their collection.

Experiencia positiva: The only reason I'm giving a 4 star review is because they're expensive in my opinion. Everything else is 5 star. I was able to schedule an appointment only a few days prior, the staff was very polite, the shop is very nice and clean, and the artist (Matt) did a fantastic job on both my tattoo and my wife's. My tattoo was scheduled but he said he would also do one for my wife because it wouldn't take long. I sent my idea in via text and Matt was able to bring it to life with the first template.

Experiencia fantástica: I just got my first tattoo today at Welcome and had a great experience! I had a pretty simple idea so they recommended that I come for a walk-in on a Saturday. I went to sign up at 10am and then they texted me a time to come in. Kohen did my tattoo and was so great to work with. The shop is incredibly clean and everyone is really friendly. I absolutely love my tattoo!!

Experiencia fantástica: Kohen did an amazing job on my Icarus neck tattoo. I spent a few days trying to find someone able to do it and Kohen luckily had a spot opened that same day. He did an incredible job and it came out exactly like I wanted it to. Amazing work I highly recommend him and will definitely be going back to him in the future. The place was very clean and everyone there was incredibly nice .

Experiencia fantástica: My second time going to this shop and I must stay the experience was top tier. The first time I went I didn’t get a tattoo I went with my honey and still the customer service and communication throughout the whole process was amazing. I actually got a tattoo this time around and I asked for Jacob - best choice yet! 10/10 highly recommend! Worth the wait! I will definitely be going back with any other tattoo idea I have and want to get done.
