Ophidian Tattoo

Fantastic experience: Excellent as always, the environment of the shop is amazing. During my tattoo, half of the artists were just chilling and watching, which made the tattooing process so enjoyable. Carly is my girl, and I would personally take a bullet for her as long as she promised to tattoo my corpse for the funeral. Can’t recommend enough!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at Ophidian with Shannon. After having a consult and showing her my existing work she created a beautiful sea turtle similar in style. I highly recommend this studio and if you have to wait to get an opening it is worth it. The prices are great and the work and environment are super cool.

Fantastic experience: I couldn't be happier. I've been designing and tweaking a tattoo for 3 years. My main issue has been trying to find a studio to go to. Now there are a ton in this area but we were still kind of new here and I just wasn't sure of their reputations or who would be best for my design. I kept hearing about this particular parlor online but it seemed next to impossible to get into. Then a few months back I saw their books were open so I submitted my design after looking through the various artists. I found one, Heather, who looked like this might be something she would be interested in. I was so glad when she accepted it. And then yesterday she made it come true. It was exactly what I wanted and she did an amazing job. She doubled and triple checked every single thing with me to make sure I was happy. And when it was over I was thrilled. I have just stared at it all day today it looks like exactly what I wanted and she did a phenomenal job on it.

Fantastic experience: My spouse and I got our first tattoos with Heather, and she was very patient and kind in the design and placement, and she really prepped us so we'd anticipate how the whole tattoo would feel. Couldn't have asked for a better first tattoo, and we are already talking about our plans for future ones! We got hand drawn style animals (which we draw in family cards), and she nailed the look! We also just love the shop vibes, and it's evident they really care about their work and clients!

Fantastic experience: Very impressed with my experience at Ophidian and my tattoo artist, Heather. The shop is so beautiful. It’s exquisitely styled, cozy and full of curiosities and whimsy. I could’ve likely spent hours looking around at their collections, art and books. You can tell they’ve put time and thought into the pieces they’ve curated to be both functional and decorative. It’s clean, smells great and is odd and lovely. It’s perfect. While I was being tattooed there was another t working in a client in the same space. Despite it being open, I did feel that the space was intimate and private. Heather was AMAZING. I could not have imagined this tattoo better. It’s perfect. She’s obviously very talented and skilled and also wonderful to talk to! I will absolutely seek appointments with her in the future and at Ophidian. I found pricing to be very fair. I appreciate their booking process and that they value their time and energy and are selective! It definitely is not somewhere where you should expect to walk in for a day of appointment. (Though I’m sure it happens from time to time). So if you want to book, be sure to follow their process for doing so. They make it very clear! I waited until they had an open booking period to submit my request and it took a couple of weeks of communication until I was able to book and pay the deposit. All in all, amazing shop here in Columbia! Also worth mentioning that they contribute to some seriously valuable and critical organizations here in the area. And I big support that

My artist, Heather, did a phenomenal job- had sketches of my idea for me to pick from and edit any details I wanted to add/remove. She made sure I absolutely loved my stencil before starting with ink. Seriously couldn’t have asked for a better studio to work with. These gals are the real deal!

She has such great energy and the time flew by! Carly was also super understanding and accommodating when I was a little unsure about the tattoo placement. The result looks absolutely phenomenal, especially on a darker skin tone. I was truly shocked. Carly broke so much stigma about tattooing on darker skin and made me so comfortable. Positive experience: I need to start by saying I’m very pleased with my tattoo; it was my first and so I had no real expectation. I find pricing with ophidian confusing because they seemingly charge by the hour and I paid a $200 deposit ($100 an hour). My appointment was at noon, and I was out the door at 1:15 PM, and the charge was $250. Again, I’m very pleased with the result, but I was not comfortable asking questions about the cost in the middle of a waiting room with a bunch of other people there. That said, I will likely go to them again. Should I decide to get a second tattoo, which every single person I know tells me will be forthcoming.

Fantastic experience: I recently had a Freddy Krueger tattoo completed, and the artist Dani Shockey did an AMAZING job!! If you like horror or anything rainbow, this is your girl! I had zero issues with healing, the line work is impeccable, the colors are very sharp and stand out wonderfully. I could not be happier. I will definitely be getting more work done here! Plus, Dani is delightful to speak with. The entire experience was just lovely.

Extremely welcoming, very professional, and very cozy Baba Yaga vibes in the shop itself, with an intimate and convivial dynamic between owners/staff—very clear they respect and cherish each other. She’s easy to talk to and funny, and she made sure that we both had anything that we might need. Fantastic experience: I got my first tattoo 33 years ago in Dayton, Ohio. I got my most recent tattoo yesterday at Ophidian. The experiences could not have been more polar opposites. There wasn't a shitty attitude to be found among the staff. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Shannon is the absolute greatest tattoo artist I've ever worked with. I was a little apprehensive because it had been many years since my last tattoo and she put me at ease, explained everything, took the time to forewarn me about every bit of contact. Also, I've never been in a more comfortable space. They really take care of you at Ophidian. I plan to spend a lot of time there

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about Ophidian and their artists! Alyssa at the front is super friendly and makes scheduling and paperwork a breeze. The shop itself is gorgeous. All of the pieces here are Heather’s - the red lilies are a year healed. She worked with us to create exactly what we were looking for, works super quickly, and prices very fairly! Highly recommend following Ophidian & their artists on Instagram because they will post about flash events or last minute openings for people who aren’t able to book months out.

Fantastic experience: If you’re looking to get a tattoo, this is THE place to go! I’m in the process of getting my tattoo done with Ashley, and let me just say she is absolutely phenomenal! Her talent is insane, but she’s also so easy to get along with. She made me feel comfortable, and it was really just like hanging out with a friend just chatting it up for 4 hours. Alyssa the Gatekeeper Extraordinaire is also super friendly! The shop is decorated like an antiques and oddities shop, and I cannot get enough of it. Every time I go in, I find something interesting that I didn’t notice before. Even better is that it’s women owned and all the artists are beyond talented. What are you waiting for? Schedule that tattoo with them. You will not regret it!

Fantastic experience: Had a truly fantastic experience with Heather at Ophidian Tattoos. Very professional booking and design, which is a huge improvement on shops I’ve attended previously. The staff was very kind and quickly rescheduled when I had a family emergency. The shop itself is a work of art, and everyone is welcoming and kind. Heather worked with me on sizing and placement and tattooed so quickly that I was surprised! 10/10 would recommend, especially to women and LGBTQIA+ folks who want to feel completely safe with an expert artist.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic experience at Ophidian! The vibes here are ✨immaculate✨ and the whole shop felt very fun and safe and clean. The booking process was very smooth and easy and any questions I had were answered promptly. I found the pricing to be very fair, especially considering the artists talent and high quality of the work I received. My artist, Carly, was so fun and welcoming and made sure I was comfortable. She made sure I knew what was going on the entire time and kept me updated on the whole process. I was super impressed that she realized my body wasn’t having anymore and stopped for the session instead of just pushing through to get the full time in. Aftercare instructions were thorough and clear and they even send you home with a cute little packet with candy and aquaphor. I can’t wait to go back!
