Negative experience: My friend and I drove all the way to Elk Grove on Friday the 13th specifically for an anti-tragus piercing. Before making the trip, we called the shop to confirm they offered it. The man who answered identified himself as the manager and assured us they did the piercing. He even said he would include it in the Friday the 13th piercing sale, despite it not being listed. Based on that confirmation, we made the drive and waited in line for an hour and a half. While we were standing in line, a woman who identified herself as the manager came outside with waivers. We explained that we had called earlier and were told they do anti-tragus piercings. She old us they do NOT perform that piercing and casually added that “sometimes the staff will tell people they do it as a joke.” As a joke? Wasting customers’ time, gas money, and effort is funny to your staff? This is beyond unprofessional — it’s dishonest. We rearranged our day, drove out of our way to Elk Grove, and stood in line for 90 minutes based on information given by someone claiming to be the manager. Whether it was actually a manager or just an employee pretending to be one, that level of misinformation is unacceptable. If your staff thinks misleading customers is a joke, that says everything about how this business is run. Save yourself the time and call somewhere else that values honesty and basic professionalism.

Negative experience: Took forever to fill out paperwork. I came back because backs of both bars came out. Made me wait for over an hour just fo replace the backs. 2 weeks later it fell off again. I do not sleep on my ears and my hair isnt long and down. I go to the place to replace the earring. Only 1 customer in front of me tyaps for over 10-15m. No one asks what I need. 2 workers are there. The yapper didn't even consider me and wasnt even getting service but wanting to get an appointment? It doesn't take over 10m to explain what you want. I left. Horrible service. Just let me replace it, but because they are bigger than other earrings, and they're new, I needed support. Another reviewer said they waited hours just to do the exact same thing. The shop said "that's not normal". Im sorry but its happened every time ive been there. 3 visits. Get your act together. If a customer is taking too long, prompt then that others are waiting.

Fantastic experience: My sister and I got piercings done here. She got her lobes pierced and I got my nostril pierced. We were both seen by Cheryl. We did not book an appointment, and the walk ins were first come first served. Everyone was really nice. Check-in was straightforward. Cheryl has great bedside manner and was really quick with all the piercings. They have an informative after-care page on their website. If I ever decide to get another piercing, l will definitely come here again. Please note that all their services are cash only. They have a convenient ATM within the shop.

Positive experience: for my first time ever getting my ears pierced i wasn’t sure what to expect, but it went so smoothly, the piercer (who was so friendly btw but i forgot her name :d) made the process so simple and smooth. taking off only 1 star due to the wait time but if i had went on a better day it wouldn’t have been as long. other than that i highly recommend this place >:)!!

Negative experience: The girl in the front was really nice, but the service was slow. I went to get a nose stud put in cause mine fell out. I waited for over an hour and within that time only two people were serviced. The room was filled with people to the point that when someone called, the front person said they would’ve been 7th in line (I was the newest person in the room at that point). Again, they seemed friendly, but there was no urgency and no communication as to why it was taking so long. I could also hear that others were frustrated with the wait time too. I ended up driving to sac to go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: I didnt get the name of who helped us but she was absolutely amazing. She helped me change the jewelry for my cheek piercings and find the right size for me. When I lost the jewelry and my hole closed up she helped me re open it and was very gentle and friendly. Would come back here 100%

Fantastic experience: MAN! It took me 3 hours to be seen! But I did a walk-in apt and there was already a lot of people there so thats my fault!! When it was my turn, I was in and out. The lady that talked to me about what I wanted to get done was very informative and awesome. The lady that did my piercings (tongue and belly button) was hella cool and had pretty dope purple tattooed eyes . Overall service was 10/10.

Fantastic experience: I have to say that Chloe did a great job with piercing. It was a wait but they are busy and we did come in early as possible around 1130 am so we can be first. Obviously they are busy with tattoo appts first but my sons and I are patient to wait. She was very quick and it wasn't painful at all. Also, I believe if you pierced it right with sanitary practices than your piercings will heal well. I know because I had my nose pierced 40 plus years ago and I have my helix done and it's doing very well. Also my sons agree as well. Their piercings are healing great. No problems. This place is awesome. Will probably get more piercings later on.

Negative experience: Please DO NOT come here. They did not listen to me when I went back about my bridge piercing to give me a longer bar because my piercing was swelling so bad and had NO room to swell, and the girl with ONE facial piercing tried telling me I didn’t need to clean fully around it or move it ?? She was also the one who pierced my eyebrow & didn’t tell me I need to get a shorter bar, & my piercing ended up rejecting & I was devastated when I had to take it out. The tattoo artist who is a piercer would rather be a tattoo artist & does a terrible job. I looked at apprenticeships piercings & they are so terrible I don’t understand why the mentor doesn’t say anything (the same mentor who is a piercer/tattoo artist so of course they let their apprentices do whatever they want) . Do not give this terrible company your money please.

Fantastic experience: I make a 30 min drive out to EG to get my piercings done because Chloe and Nyx have always been so kind and caring when providing their services. Receptionist is always so sweet and attentive too. This shop is definitely the place to be for any piercing needs :-)

Negative experience: went there a few months ago for my double helix… the piercer gave me two tiny bars and didn’t even make it symmetrical with the helix on my other ear. with the bars being too small it gave no room to swell or heal, to the point where they eventually both popped out over night and closed up. i have many piercings already so it wasn’t neglected. i’d like to be reached out to for a refund as i wasted $75 not including the tip.

Fantastic experience: I recently took advantage of the Friday the 13th deal at LODI location. I experienced some unforeseen complications that was through Nobody’s fault. However, due to LODI piercer not being in the shop for a couple of days, I contacted the elk Grove one and they were extremely helpful and we’re so caring and I really appreciate it.

Fantastic experience: I love them so much. I got both sides done it's a hidden helix, it hurt a little bit. Chloe the piercer was very kind and fast at it. I really like emeralds tattoo and piercing in Elk Grove because after I got my piercing done they texted me on their Instagram and made sure that I'm doing okay and if I have any pain they want to know they look out for all their clients and they care about us and are aftercare.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to emerald since 2023. I've gotten 13 tattoos and 8 piercings from here. They have fixed/ helped heal 3 piercings from a different business as well. The piercers Nyx and Chloe create the sweetest and most sincere experience every single time. The prices are very reasonable, especially knowing they've been done right every single time. Any questions I've had have been answered thoroughly. There's great customer service throughout the whole shop. Wait times can very but It's worth it to patiently wait and get an amazing piercing. The tattooers are absolutely amazing here! There's never been a dull moment when I've been at emerald. It's always a blast! Everywhere I go, I get a "woah, where'd you get your ink done?" Or "wow, it's so pretty it looks like a sticker. " Emerald has surpassed every expectation I've ever had! Every time I go in, I leave with something gorgeous. The prices are great too! Definitely industry standard prices plus probably the best experience you'll have! Shout out to the amazing people at the front desk also! Always very helpful! They check in to see how you're doing, as well as bring snacks and water during sessions, answer any and all questions! Fantastic experience: I got a navel piercing that was $40 (I got the blue gem), the piercing itself was quick, if anything the waiting was longer. Anyone getting a piercing, I suggest getting it done and over with because the anticipation is worse. The staff are sweet and helpful with questions.

Fantastic experience: Amazing ear piercing experience. I had been thinking second ear robe piercing for a quite while due to my needle phobia. I showed up at 10:20am because of my anxiety. Front lady opened the shop at 11am and took names. I came back at 11:50am and got done probably within 20 mins. Super quick and precise! Nyx is a very skillful lady with plenty of empathy. She used a needle, not a puncher. I didn’t feel any pain. In fact, I only felt she was twisting my ear robes. That’s it! I believe that annual flu shot hurts more. My daughter was so right! She said all her friends go here for piercings and BJJ people go for tattoos. No wonder people line up here. Cash payment. Bring a photo ID.

Positive experience: This place is definitely worth going to. I went about a week ago to get a side lip and an industrial on my left ear. The staff and service is great, especially their receptionist. Chloe did my piercing. She's extremely patient and makes you feel super comfortable. The only thing that I would warn about is the wait time. I got to the place fairly early and there was a hefty wait time. Since piercings are walk-ins only, you have to wait for everyone else and it especially sucks when there's people in front of you who are squeamish or can't handle pain. They typically take longer to finish. I think when I was there I had to wait about 2.5 hours with some other folks in the waiting room. Other than that no complaints. I haven't had any issues with infection or rejection with my piercings. The prices are also super good here, super duper cheap for what you're paying for. Highly recommend this place, just have to get lucky with who's in front of you.

Fantastic experience: For years I’ve been putting off a coverup a 24-year-old tattoo on my ankle because I wasn’t sure anyone could do anything beautiful with it (it was a very dark and blended set of wings). Pepe did a brilliant job using shading it into the background where I would never suspect a coverup if I didn’t know. It’s beautiful and light, and I absolutely love it. A gentle touch and true artist, he designed this for me based on very simple ideas I gave. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: I went in early this year (January) to get my lobes repierced. I had gotten them initially done years prior and had a terrible heal, so lots of scarring. Let me preface this too by saying I am a massive scaredy-cat when it comes to needles. I pass out, get the shakes, the whole nine yards. I went in to see Nyx and they were such an angel. I felt safe and comfortable. Their before, during, and after care was top teir. They were honest about what the heal would realistically look like (because of prior scarring) and I am so pleased with the results. I can not recommend them enough.

Fantastic experience: Emerald Tattoo & Piercing is the best for all your piercing needs! Nyx pierced my double lobes and they did an awesome job. After years of not having any piercings done, I loved my result that Nyx did. In fact, I came back a a few weeks later to get a flat and tragus piercing too! Chey was also amazing and so helpful and responsive, both in person and via text. Piercing walk ins can get pretty busy, so I recommend coming on a day you have time or calling/texting ahead of time. Negative experience: I went in to get my cat's memorial pawprint tattooed and they gave me the wrong animal's pawprint. It started with a consultation where they scanned the ink blot and had me come in another time for the actual tattoo. I had trusted that it was the correct one until I got home and compared it with the ink blot and saw that it was the wrong paw. It was in fact a dog's pawprint. So even after I went back in for a fix, the shape is all wrong because cat paws are smaller than dog paws and it will now just look like a dog's paw. I'm getting a consultation to have it removed and looking into finding a different place that won't make the same mistake. Waste of my money and time. Edit; I was also stupid and naive and accepted a free small tat of my choice as compensation, I asked for a small easy logo on my wrist and thought the stencil was placed crooked. I urged the tattoo artist to adjust it to how I wanted but he just kept assuring me it wasn't crooked even though it looked like it to me. So I felt pressured into just going along with it and now it looks crooked and bugs the hell out of me anytime I look at it. My artist was Pepe, who was very nice but unfortunately didn't deliver a good final product.

Fantastic experience: Just got my Naval piercing, the woman who pierced me was very straightforward and it was a quick process. The rooms are decorated which was an absolute treat. Definitely recommend this place.

Negative experience: Waited 2½ hours for just a jewelery change out and my jewelry came undone less then 48 hours after. Ridiculous! I could have went downtown had this done plus a meal. I will do that next time. Done with this place. Been there 2 other times prior and was not satisfied. Go elsewhere for your piercing needs !!!

Negative experience: Staff are super friendly but way over price. $150 for one drawn piece. My sister got a whole arm piece for $150 that’s way more detail than mines. 5 mins for $150 for a drawn line. Crazy. The staff are friendly and great but if you want something simple that anyone can do then I recommend going elsewhere.

Positive experience: Went here for a belly piercing around June of this year. As it started healing, I started to notice how misplaced and crooked it was. It wasn't pierced in the right spot. In fact, it ended up being too high. Granted, that may be partly to blame for me as well since they do mark the area prior. However, the piercing unfortunately ended up falling out? Idk. It was weird. I followed the care instructions. And it's not my first piercing. I have 2 others. So now there's an ugly lil scar lol. But hopefully next visit will be better. The artist did an amazing job on my tattoo and I can't wait to get many more by her! and I also got 3 piercings by Nyx (I hope i spelt that right). Everyone there was pleasant to deal with. Over all the happiest I've felt with a piercer and tattoo artist. They went above and beyond for me today. Including fixing old horribly done piercings from a previous shop. I must also mention how calming and relaxing and understanding they both were! I can not wait to go back! I see many more trips to emerald elk grove in my near future! Everything was perfect from placements, advice, aftercare instructions, prep and needle time. When i got there, they had gotten slammed with walk ins and they managed everyone in the most professional and timely manner as well. I couldn't have expected better service or a better exsperience than I got today!

Fantastic experience: i’ve been at this location many times and they are always so kind and caring. the person at the front desk is wonderful and any piercer they’ve had there is always great. i was pierced by nyx today and i know they’ve pierced me before this. they are absolutely wonderful. they always make sure i’m comfortable and happy with the placement/healing process and assure i know what pain level i should expect. after many times of being pierced here, i’ve never had a single bad experience. great place to be.
