Negative experience: I got an 1 inch long, fine line tattoo here, in black inch, took Maybe 5 mins and they charged me $100.

Fantastic experience: 1st honest artist who told me instead of just ghosting me. The ladies who pierced my sister's and my nose where also awesome. They also let us know that with my sister's deviated septum her piercing might be crooked and gave her an honest choice

Fantastic experience: Best Parlor in Eastern Iowa!

Negative experience: Extremely rude staff. I walked in to get a piercing and the lady who was there was beyond rude. I'm never going back. Walked right out of there without saying a word.

Fantastic experience: We took our 6-year-old daughter here for her first ear piercing and had an excellent experience. Brittany was fantastic; calm, patient, and clearly experienced with kids. Everything was very clean and professional, while still keeping that classic grunge/edgy tattoo shop vibe that makes the place feel authentic, not corporate. We were immediately welcomed with a smile, which set the tone right away. Unlike other places that required long consultations and upsells, this was refreshingly straightforward: a simple flat rate that included letting my daughter choose her first studs. She landed on the pink butterflies and absolutely loves them. Honestly, for how smooth and positive the experience was, I would’ve paid twice as much. One heads-up: it’s cash only, but they do have an ATM on site, so it’s not an issue. Highly recommend! Especially for parents nervous about their child’s first piercing.

Fantastic experience: Walked in for a nose piercing, and Brittany was able to get me done in literally less than 5 minutes! Great experience! Everyone is sweet and many options for jewelry. Cash only was expected, but it was 30 bucks which is a great deal.

Negative experience: To make long story short, never had a tattoo before. Went there worked with tattoo artist Blue pd. a deposit of 100. My fault for not doing my homework, but many friends believed what I having done was way overpriced, so went in to ask if changing my mind I could get deposit back. Blue went OFF being unprofessional and rude I would not recommend Blue doing your tattoos!

Negative experience: The piercer is definitely just needle happy. She told me I had the anatomy for a belly button piercing. Great, got it done. Then boom it got super infected. Turns out, I DO NOT HAVE THE CORRECT ANATOMY. Crazy considering she said she’s been piercing for 16 some years. Also got my nose ring changed, as an “experienced” piercer she should have known what size ring to use. SHE STRETCHED OUT MY NOSE PIERCING, using a bigger hoop than I asked for. Definitely wouldn’t go here tbh

Negative experience: I got two piercings here back in January—a conch and a helix. My conch lasted a couple months before I had to take it out, but I’m leaving this for my piercer who said “hoops are recommended for Helix piercings”. After almost a year of it shooting pain throughout my head and bleeding at random points, I had enough. Do not pierce with hoops.

Fantastic experience: My mom and I came in for two upper earlobe piercings after hearing good things about wild side! Megan was so nice and did it well and fast! I highly recommend her for piercings!

Fantastic experience: I have gotten my second and third lobe piercings done at Wild Side Tattoo. The atmosphere there was wonderful! When I expressed that I felt light headed they offered a soda and a sucker to help me not pass out! Even though I had them change the location of my third lobes a few times and they were so patient with me. They created a very clean, loving, and safe environment. I will always recommend Wild Side Tattoo to anyone who needs recommendations on where to go for tattoos and piercings. Fantastic experience: Full transparency, this was not our first choice for the place to get our 2m baby’s ears pierced. But mannnnn am I glad things worked out the way they did. Megan and the rest of the team were so kind, approachable, and made us feel comfortable with the whole process. The informed us of the different jewelry options (we opted for the titanium highest quality), were quick to pierce (seriously, SO QUICK), and just really nice. Because she was a baby then recommended her baby soap to keep them clean so we’ve done that and Neosporin 2x a day and they’ve healed perfectly. Would absolutely recommend!

Fantastic experience: I wish I could remember the artists name but I can’t. Anyways I got a small neck tattoo a few weeks ago with one of the guys and I just have to say I’m very happy with the process and results. I have anxiety like an mf and felt so incredibly comfortable from start of walking in to the end of the tattoo! The artist was open and honest about placement and font and helped me figure out what would look best for what I wanted. Even though the tattoo was simple he was helpful in pointing out that certain fonts could look wonky with the placement and direction I wanted. To add, every other line work/lettering tattoo I have (from three different artists) have been and stayed raised over the course of three or four years. The one I had done here is my first without any raising and healed amazing! Pricing was super reasonable and I look forward to getting more done here!

Negative experience: Would probably never just walk in without studying their site to see who’s in. After plenty of great experiences, I went in yesterday to have a jewelry change for a 3 year old hole that’s been out for one night. The girl (red haired woman, found nowhere on the site?) I was passed off to used no lubricant, held my nose as tightly as she could and basically rammed it through. I’ve never had someone treat my face like that nor have I ever had this much pain with a “change” and she even lied saying she was pushing out scar tissue and THAT’s why she needed such unjust force, which it says nowhere, ever in my research or experience with other piercers, is ever needed for this kind of procedure. Then she was rude about it, to make matters sweeter. Not a great experience at all and I’ve been sore.

Negative experience: Update: I WILL NEVER BE GOING HERE AGAIN Don’t get me wrong everyone is LOVELY. Unfortunately they gave me misinformation on how to clean my piercings (ALWAYS USE STERIL SALINE SOLUTION), and actually pierced my septum wrong. February 2025: I got my nose pierced here and was really nervous because I’ve never had anything other than my ears done before. Megan worked fast, and did a wonderful job! I think we were only in the shop for a total of five minutes. Overall the place is clean, the staff are great, and the prices are good. I’ll definitely be coming back. April 2025: I came in to get the other side of my nose pierced, and just liked last time it was fast and sanitary. Brittany was super nice, her measurements were precise and my piercings align perfectly. Don’t think I’ll be going anywhere else to get pierced.

Fantastic experience: My brother's and I came in for a memorial tattoo for our mom who recently passed. Sticky did amazing and went right to designing and getting us all done. He helped lighten the mood and made jokes. He was great. Def recommend.

Negative experience: Got 2 ear piercings here, the jewelry they put in was terrible and caused my piercings to get extremely irritated to the point I had to give up and take them out. One of the piercers also gives bad advice on how to heal piercings.

Negative experience: I got a tattoo here a few weeks ago and at first I loved it!!! My artist kept making fun of the style of tattoo I was getting but I didn't really care that much. I followed the aftercare process exactly how it was listed on the paper they give you. I didn't notice anything wrong with the tattoo at first. After about a week and a half into the healing phase I noticed that some of the lines I had asked for on my leaves were extremely shaky and really faded, almost non existent. It's now healed and some of the lines on my leaves and tree are pretty much gone, I'm so upset. I spent $200 on 4 tattoos and multiple of them are already partly faded even though I followed the aftercare exactly as directed. Will have to go get them touched up by another artist which will cause me even more money :/. I'm so disappointed, this parlor came highly recommended to me.

Fantastic experience: I walked in off the street today to purchase a gift card for my son’s birthday and was so happy with the staff. I was greeted immediately by a very pleasant female staff member who very kindly confirmed they are cash only. No problem whatsoever, there’s an ATM in the parking lot. By the time I got back she already had the gift card ready- I just had to hand her the cash. I’ve never been tattooed here but the last one my son received was incredible. He got a grim reaper hand over his right shoulder to symbolize the inoperable brain stem tumor he was diagnosed with at 13 years old that greatly affects his mobility and coordination on that side. By all medical accounts, he should be long under ground with his particular diagnosis but isn’t and the artist (I’m sorry, I’m not sure of the name) did amazing! I can’t wait to see what my son gets next!

Negative experience: Charged me $100 for a fine line tattoo that’s only about 2 inches. No shading and no colored ink.

Fantastic experience: Walked in on Monday morning to talk to an artist about a tattoo that I wanted done. I spoke with Blue and he was able to get me scheduled for later in the afternoon. When I got back for my appointment we walked through the drawing that my husband did of what I wanted and how I wanted it done. He executed it perfectly. Thanks again Blue for the great customer service!

Negative experience: The peircers here at wildside generally made me feel like they lacked skill and welcoming customer service. I've gotten my lobes and a helix done here at a reasonable price and they were done well and healed just fine, but then I got my daith done... I started to suspect an issue when it developed huge irritation bumps that progressively got worse and would not go away no matter what I did. I went to another peircer and their level of customer service was a shock. It made me realize how harsh people at wildside are. Then my new piercer told me how wrong they did my daith, incorrect placement, wrong jewlery size, wrong type of jewlery. Pretty upset about it because I loved how the peircing looked, not to mention how much it cost.

Negative experience: I’ve come here for plenty of piercings. I got an Ashley piercing there. I just went there after my Ashley piercing healed to put a new bar in. I made the mistake of having them put in my lower navel piercing as well. My Ashley piercing fell out after the healing. (I was putting lipgloss on ) because it was not put in correctly. I came back so they can fix the problem. And then it came out again. (I was simply eating) I called the shop And I was told that I would have to pay even more money for the SAME piercing. So I would have to come in THREE times for the SAME piercing. My lower navel that has been pierced forever! that I paid them to put new jewelry in, also fell out too. I loved that there are only women piercers here. But I will never come back if the work is going to be messed up like this every single time. I am rewriting this review because my navel piercing just came out. I am beyond pissed and disappointed. Do it right the first time!! Don’t come here

I had my lobes pierced a third time and my left nostral done by Brittany and she did a great job making me feel comfortable and safe while she did my piercings. Fantastic experience: A group of 3, including myself, one chose a naval, one had an eyebrow, and I chose to get my nips pierced. Jazmyn was our piercer, and she was great the whole way through. Everything was great while we were in the shop, and everything has gone great afterward. She took her time and made sure everything looked right and was cleaned up correctly afterward.

Negative experience: “Blue” if you want to call him that is terrible, terrible terrible. Terrible artist, terrible person, just a terrible human being. Nobody get a tattoo from “blue”, he’ll change your design last minute and call tattoo you wanted stupid. Stay away!! So many better places and so much better work and artist elsewhere

Positive experience: I went yesterday and showed a picture of what I wanted. The artist said he can top that and drew me up a photo, but never really asked me which one I wanted- and looking back I think we were on different pages. Also felt like he didn’t have any patience when putting the design on. Overall the tattoos always turn out amazing.

Fantastic experience: I went in today to get my navel pierced and met with Jazmyn one of the piercers. I can not put in words how great those people are. After I got my navel pierced i started to feel really light headed my vision was blurring and voices muffled, I was sweating profusely and mind you I have never once blacked out or came even close to it so I didn’t realize what was happening at first but luckily Jazmyn immediately came to the rescue and shouted to her co- workers that I was going to pass out and the next thing I know I was sat down in a chair with a man behind me giving me a pop and Jazmyn fanning me down. They kept asking me if I was alright and to keep taking small sips of my pop and eventually I walked out just fine. I don’t know who the man behind me was but I want to thank him to for being so calm and giving me the pop it really did help lol. Thank you again for being so kind and not to mention my piercing looks amazing!.

Fantastic experience: Had both of my ears pierced mid August. They got me in right before closing and did an excellent job, especially for the great price of $40, compared to Iowa City shops, you wont find any place that will do less than $100. 10/10 Wildside Tattoo and Body Piercing.

Fantastic experience: Recieved my first helix piercings here after not having my ears pierced since i was a kid at Claires. Walked in a little nervous and unsure as I had never been in a tatto parlor but staff was super friendly and helpful and quickly got me set up. Prices are great and the piercing was just walk in and didnt take more than 15 mins.

Positive experience: It's a decent place. Piercings are cheap, Megan is great at what she does. I've taken my son to her for eat piercings. I don't trust the other piercers as much. I got a tattoo twice, the first guy was very inappropriate and kind of rude. Tattoo is blurry. The second guy was awesome personality wise but that tattoo is also blurry. They were both apprentices and it was many years ago.

Fantastic experience: I’ve gotten 16 piercings between two visits in 2017 and 2021. Both experiences were great. They were very clean, efficient and quick. I took my 4 month old today to get her lobes pierced and couldn’t have asked for anyone better. Megan is amazing at what she does. She is professional and knows what to do and does it quick which made this momma feel better! I won’t go anywhere else for piercings!

Fantastic experience: I have used Wildside for my piercings for the last 3 years. Specifically Jazmyn. I've never had a bad experience and never has the staff been rude to me. I've even come back to Wildside just to get my piercings switched out (or I took them out and couldn't get them back in LOL) and Jazmyn is more than willing to help me-- at no charge other than the jewelry itself. She even helps me if I can't get my jewelry back in. (I always give her a tip of course for her time.) She's never rude or ill tempered. I can't review their tattoos simply because I use another shop for those. Nothing against WS but I have just always used ND for my tats for many, many years. But as for piercings they are my go-to every time! No rude staff and if the piercer is busy someone typically greets me and asks if I've been helped yet.

Negative experience: Will attempt to assault a minor over asking to get an uneven piercing removed. Just imagine any other requests that hurt their ego. Do not go here it is an unsafe environment to be in, and to trust your body with.

Negative experience: Do NOT give Wildside your business, your money or your time. The workers refuse to take constructive criticism. When Megan (The girl who pierced my 17 year old girlfriends bridge) was confronted about giving an uneven piercing, Megan proceeded to say that my girlfriend had no idea what she was talking about and that the piercing was fine.My girlfriend calmly tried to explain that she needed it removed because she wasn't happy with it, and Megan refused to take it out still. They then continued to say that she was on drugs and was crazy, simply because they disagreed with the fact that her nose piercing was uneven. They also threatened me saying that if I didn't leave the store, that they would beat me up right where I stand for simply defending my girlfriends opinion in a non hostile manner. They followed us out the store after we were told to leave, and when we left, they continued to threaten me and my girlfriend. Wildside is VERY unprofessional, unsafe, unfair and downright rude. The workers are pretentious, arrogant and take any form of criticism to heart. If I could leave a 0 star, I would.

Negative experience: This is a pathetic excuse for a body modification shop. They are very unprofessional and the employees have messed up many piercings,Megan has messed up customers piercings,uneven,not healing well etc. for your own safety avoid getting body modification here.

Negative experience: Unprofessional and rude. Their piercing quality is whack and their staff is egotistical. They’re aggressive , won’t take criticism over the placement of something going into your BODY, and go as far as touching/ restraining you. Would rather get pierced in the backroom of a strip club using a push pin and ice.

Negative experience: If I could give this place a 0 stars I would. We called and said a walk in was fine, we went in and was made to wait 45 minutes as the artist never actually came out to talk to us. We come back and are greeted by an extremely rude and condescending man. When explaining the simple small number and small bird tattoos we wanted he said that it would never work. He then proceeded to ask us if we even had any tattoos and knew what we were talking about, and then said that he hopes we’re not going into an important job field because we would be turned down for future jobs for our tattoos, when he was covered head to toe in giant color tattoos. He made us feel stupid, and practically made fun of us the whole time and sounded like he was absolutely drunk or high. Will only be going back to my trusted artist, and never back to this unprofessional environment. Very disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Three of us went in and got inked by Syd. We got similar "matching" tattoos. She has such a light touch. Negative experience: I went in and got my nose pierced and also a triple forward Helix in my ear. Megan told me to use witch hazel 3-4 times a day and it got severely infected and my entire ear swelled up and looked like cauliflower ear. Went back in 4 days after I got pierced and they said to just use water to clean ear. Well the top piercing was engulfed into my cartilage and I ended up pulling it out through the back. Now I have 2 forward Helix piercings and one has lost the gem. It has been one week since I got pierced. Extremely disappointed and will never go there again.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff. The lady who did my ears was very kind and helpful. The shop was very neat and very clean. Reasonably priced. I'd come here again for sure!
