Fantastic experience: It’s been like 20 years since I had my last piercing so today I was really sending myself into an anxious spiral about a conch piercing I wanted. I let Melody know that I was a bit anxious and she was so sweet and calm and gentle and talked me through the process. The piercing was but a tiny pinch! It’s super cute and I’m looking forward to coming back for more once this little guy is healed. Thanks so much! 10/10

Negative experience: I went to get a dermal piercing , and the piercer there seemed unsure and said she didn’t know how to do the piercing? so I got the anti eyebrow instead and the piercing process was great even though she was acting sort of strange. literally the next day after i got the piercing i realized the ball had popped off , and i’ve had MANY piercings before i know how to take care of them i know not to touch them! it seemed she didn’t tighten the jewelry enough . anyway i went back to get it fixed and it was a different piercer and she seemed super annoyed that she had to deal with this and while she was checking the piercing she literally just ripped it out of my face without telling me she would have to redo it , then she redid the piercing and it just felt RUSHED and she left me bleeding all over and said she didn’t have any bandaids and didn’t even give me a tissue or anything . it was still free to have it redone and i know it’s not her fault that it happened but it still just felt so weird!! anyway the piercing was done wrong and uneven it was just an awful experience all around and would recommend going anywhere else

Fantastic experience: Xolo was calm and efficient. She gave my wife multiple options for her piercings so she would for sure love them and made the process quick and as painless as possible. I recommend her and will be back to get my wife a couple more helix when these heal! Thanks!

Negative experience: i went to get my smiley peirced yesterday, the environment was good but my smiley is completely crooked. one side is way higher than the other so it sits sideways in my mouth. i understand it was friday the 13th and they were probably just trying to do as many as possible but i am disappointed as i have wanted this pericing for a long time.

Positive experience: I guess call before you drive all the way up there. Website said walk ins are welcome but I drove up at 3pm on a Wednesday, during business hours, and the doors were locked, lights out. I called thinking maybe they ran up the street for food or something (I could just wait) but no one answered

Negative experience: I came into this establishment wanting my nose pierced and maybe get a tattoo as well , Got my nose pierced waited and waited to get my tattoo that I picked out she gave me every excuse in the book on I can't do that oh the hand tattoos don't last even though your hands are full of tattoos I'm assuming they just wanted me to leave not a friendly establishment the feeling of not being wanted there was obvious.....

Fantastic experience: I didn't catch the ladies name but she was really nice and knew her stuff for sure. Told me she couldn't do the 2 piercings I wanted to do on each lobe due to pain concerns and I like that she mentioned that! Other piercing shops just do whatever you want sometimes Everything was sanitary, didn't feel too worried about the cleanliness. I didn't get one of those piercing care sheets but I got my second lobe done last year so I already knew the whole process due to my experience!

Fantastic experience: My daughter and I needed needle therapy. Came in for piercings and (I hope I spell this correctly) Sholo was our piercer. Quick, efficient, pleasant. We've been coming to Gypsy for years now and this was the quickest we've ever been in and out.

Negative experience: I got a nostril piercing last night. The girl who did my piercing obviously didn't have much experience and should really be observed & given guidance for a while until she's better skilled. The piercing itself was fine but she struggled A LOT getting the jewelry (a stud) in. Saying because she couldn't reach it inside my nose because it was so far back. Placement is no different than any other standard nostril piercing so it was just inexperience. And she even suggested repiercing it in another position! When I aggressively declined and told her my finger was larger and could go much farther up the nose than that she regrouped and figured it out. Unfortunately, by this time I had experienced way more pain than necessary and bleeding that shouldn't have occurred. All this said, she was very sweet and apologetic. But she does need a little more training and guidance.

Fantastic experience: Xolo is an amazing piercer! Knowledgeable and very clean!!! Will definitely only be using her and Gypsy Rose studio for all my piercing and tattoo needs from now on!!!!

Negative experience: Never going back there even again. Used to go for tattoos and piercings. Tattoos were amazing but the 2 artists I had doing my piercings messed up twice (2 out of my 5 piercings I had from there). Wrote a review when all their artists were leaving. Because yes, ALL OF THE ARTISTS LEFT and I got a nasty answer from the owner to my review. I was just stating the facts, I never said why they left, just that they left... When I changed my review I had another answer saying that I should come in person to speak my issues in person. Very disrespectful owner who obviously doesn't know customer service as they got on their high horse for absolutely nothing. This place cannot be considered as a "safe place" either, do your research, their other places around

Fantastic experience: I have gotten 4 ear lobe, my nose, and my belly pierced here and I have nothing but good things to say about this place they are very kind and good at what they do. The whole shop is very clean and the piercings are very affordable and the jewelry it's self is very good and high end metal. Xolo was my piercer for each piercing and she is so kind. I highly recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: Xolo is by far the best piercer I've ever had, I've gotten approximately 4-5 piercings from them, and it's always a great experience. They are extremely knowledgeable concerning piercings and aftercare, following their directions I've never had any issues with my piercings. The pain is always minimal and their service is always friendly, quick, as well as precise. The vibes are immaculate. Highly recommended to anyone wanting any kind of piercing!

Fantastic experience: I went to get a 8mm septum jewelry from the store, I wanted pink and I specifically told her what size I wanted and she gave me it saying it was the size, I went home to try it, too big. No worries I called and told her about the issue she told me to come back so they can exchange it for a smaller one. So I left once again drove 20 min to get my smaller one just for when I get there she asks another piercer if they have smaller ones and they said no and they are sold out on a lot of stuff. I either would have liked a refund or, at least could inform me if there was any in the size before I came to make the drive there again. No refund or anything was offered either. Update: I went from having an issue to my issue being fixed with a lot of support, they emailed me fast, appropriately and sympathetic, they also ended up giving me my piercing, apologizing and did it free of charge even tho I came with initial jewelry just do an exchange. Even offered to install it for me, I’m glad my experience was turned around I really appreciate the help!!

Fantastic experience: They were able to fix up what was a terribly botched job from a far lesser studio. Honestly shocked at how well it turned out. I thought it was unfixable and they not only fixed it, but made it appear as it was originally designed. So grateful that monstrosity is no longer an issue for me. Everyone was polite and really chill. If I ever decided to get another one, this is where I'd get it. Thank you for making it possible to wear short sleeves again!

The shop was very nice… Dre was absolutely fantastic, his area was clean and the overall vibe was relaxing. We love our tattoos. When we come back, we’ll be sure to visit him again!

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend this tattoo shop! I love getting tattoos by different artists so I am always looking for new shops to try out. Gypsy Rose will become a togo to spot for me, I walked in and got tattooed by the owner and had a great experience. The atmosphere was extremely welcoming and the various artists that my husband and I came in contact with was very friendly. The pricing was fair and the quality was fantastic. Very happy with the artwork done and looking forward to future peices :)

Negative experience: We called RIGHT before we left our house at 9:51 to confirm that the piercer was still there, and the guy said YES, so we made the 17-minute drive there just to be told the piercer went home!!!!!!! And when I said we called to confirm before we left, the guy lied and said we called earlier. Don't waste your money here because obviously they don't want the business!!!!!! So if you KNOW your piercer gets off at 10pm, then you would think that would be something you should communicate to someone calling about piercings!!! Thank you for the great example of incompetence everyone can expect from this establishment. Also to add after calling around for a new studio, we have found that we were almost charged double what other studios charge for the same piercing!

Fantastic experience: Update: Amanda moved to another shop I got pierced by Amanda. I absolutely loved the experience. She was kind and patient when I at first backed out and then decided to go through with my piercing. She was very thorough with her sterilization in between clients. She was very knowledgeable and they provided very thorough care instructions. I highly recommend coming here for piercings and will not go anywhere else for future piercings.

Fantastic experience: As I scroll through and read low rated views, the commonality of them are based on promoting Artist that has left the Studio and no longer there.. and NOT based on EXPERIENCE at Gypsy Rose Studio. I think it's unprofessional of an Artist to have your friends set bad reviews on a highly reputable Studio, while promoting to follow thier social media. I rate my experience 5 stars because of the atmosphere, private rooms and their unbiased judgment when picking good Artist to join the Studio. Great tattoo work has came out of this studio for years and it's do to picking good tattoo artist and not just from needing to fill a seat. As a Client, I respect that and know, when I visit, I will leave happy. My personal favorite artist is JASON!!

Fantastic experience: Have got few tattoos from here. All the artists are good but a big shout out to Bam!! He listens to what you want and his artistic skills are so so good!! We did a matching couples infinity Tattoos. I wanted to get another small design and eventhough I had not asked earlier he was so accommodating and did that for me too!! Highly recommend Bam!! He is friendly, professional, listens to what his client wants and gives you exactly the design you pictured!!

Fantastic experience: Listen, a lot of tattoo shops in Houston don’t care like this establishment I love the vibes the place gives, but this isn’t just about that. My artist BAM, literally is the most kind human I’ve ever ran across we stumbled upon eachother with my last minute planning and boy am I glad I ever did! We’ve had multiple sessions since then & beautiful conversations and I’m so glad I am blessed with his art on my skin. If I could give him 1,000 stars I would. His tattoos are IMPECCABLE FLAWLESS LINES. I could go on and on! Really give this place a try! It’s worth your time and bams worth your money! Keep on rocking it Johnny depps son! YOU THE MAN!

Fantastic experience: This was my second time coming here. I first came here to get a helix pierced and the piercer was wonderful. She helped my find the right placement and was very laid back. The second time I went to go get some dainty tattoos on my fingers. The artist made sure to take all cleaning precautions. The tattoos came out so good will definitely recommend coming here. The overall place is such a vibe!

Fantastic experience: This place had awesome service staff was very kind, warm, welcoming and patient. This was my first tattoo so I was so nervous and I suffer with anxiety. I have always wanted to get a tattoo but I shied away from ever stepping into a tattoo studio. BAM was GREAT!!! He made me feel comfortable during my 1st experience getting a tattoo. My anxiety never flared up once. I highly recommend BAM and will definitely be back for the next one!

Fantastic experience: I got tattooed by Angello and I have a lot to say. -He tattooed my chest and was a perfect gentleman the whole time. He did not once make me feel uncomfortable. -He has been the first tattoo artist I've been to that seemed excited to be tattooing, both the design and in general. -He was very welcoming, polite, nice to talk to, etc. He made sure that I was in a comfortable position and checked to make sure I was handling the session well. -His work is clean and quick. He made the 4 hour session as easy on me as possible, while still packing in ink. I could keep going, but in short I had an amazing experience. I would 100% recommend going to him!

Fantastic experience: First time here and I enjoyed it. I’m not sure why, but I have always shy away from tattoo and piercing establishments. So I was a little nervous, yet it went away when my family was greeted at the door. I got my first tragus piercing. I was extremely nervous, but AMANDA was amazing! She was patient, cool, and reassuring. It didn’t take long, she made me feel safe and comfortable. The place looks aesthetically pleasing and laid back. I will be coming back in the future!

Positive experience: Was a cool dime lightning atmosphere, private session. Took a while for her to set up and draw a rough draft of the style I wanted. Oveerall very happy with my tattoo it was neatly done and no pain.

Fantastic experience: Went here to get my daughter’s ear pierced and Amanda was absolutely amazing. Amanda went above and beyond to make sure my daughter was comfortable and well informed about the pros and cons of getting her ears done there vs other places. Amanda even went through explaining how the piercing worked and demonstrated on my daughter’s stuffy. I would highly recommend them every time.

Fantastic experience: If you plan on getting a piercing here I would 1000% recommend it. Amanda and the gentleman with the beard (I believe his name was John) are genuinely some of the nicest people you will meet and they explain everything so well and will answer any questions you have. This is will be my go to place for piercings and I would recommend them to anyone who plans on getting one.

Fantastic experience: This is a great and inviting shop. My friend and I walked in on a random Wednesday and was assisted by BAM. BAM turned out to be an amazing artist and did a nice job on my fine line tattoo. He was very patient and accommodating to us and went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. This shop takes Privacy seriously and work is done in individual rooms with a privacy curtain. I definitely recommend this shop and BAM. In fact I'm already getting him to work on future art.

Fantastic experience: i came in with my dad and we each got a piece from 2 different artists. we were greeted by the kind front desk person and sat in the clean waiting areas. i had such a pleasant experience with angello. he did a piece for me above my knee and made me feel so safe and comfy!! i love what he did for me!!

Fantastic experience: I am beyond grateful for the service I get here. I have horrible anxiety and the atmosphere in this shop is so calming and pure it’s unbelievable. The store is clean and beautiful. The artist I saw was serenity and her prices are not only fair but in my opinion unbeatable. Especially for the quality of work she does. I also got a tattoo from Bam when I used the quarter machine thingy they have and that tattoo ended up healing perfectly and looks incredible. My time with both of the artists were so positive and meaningful. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you’re someone who’s nervous to find an artist because you’ve had bad experiences at other shops, please check this one out. I’ve only met two of the artists so far, but from what I have seen, they are not only caring and sweet but SUPER talented.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Gypsy Rose before they moved to this new location. Even then, they were clean, extremely courteous, straightforward, and realistic. When spending a lot of money on something that will last forever, you need to know that you are not getting something you don't want with service that is terrible. That's not the case here. The entire team over here is extremely professional. Serenity is an award winning artist who has worked on my arm sleeve over time and I am lucky enough to have her for Friday 13th days! I absolutely love this place. It's clean without smelling sterile. It's professional without the arrogance. It's focused on the art not the dollar. And, speaking of which, the artists are diverse in their art, styles, handling, and pricing. You are sure to find an artist there that you would love to work with!

Negative experience: So I went In February to get A belly piercing but the guy told me I was too Big for one, even though I already had it pierced and only needed a re- piercing. The guy was off from the jump, he was Weird, and kind of stand offish. So I ended up getting a helix and everything was fine it just felt like it was never going to heal. I went to get a second opinion and was told that the guy pierced my ear incorrectly from the start. He pierced my ear at an angle instead of it being straight thru. This is dangerous and can cause infection and a never ending healing process. I’m going to come in there tomorrow and if that guy is in there someone is getting slapped.

Fantastic experience: Had prior work done was very happy with it. So I went back to have a very custom piece done and i tell you I was blown away on Jason’s work he done for me. By far one of the best artists around. I had so many people complimenting me on it. If you want amazing work done go and check them out. Jason you’re the best. Thank you very happy customer.

Fantastic experience: I went to get my nose pierced. I first called over the phone a the lady who answered was really nice. Also when I went inside I did not follow the sign so the same lady who answered the phone greeted me a was really nice. The guy who did my nose piercing he was really cool. I was nervous at first but he was really cool and made sure to walk me through the steps of what to do an the nose piercing process was also him talking me through an showing me what to expect. Also before I left they showed me what to get to care for my nose piercing and also clarified some things with me. I did not pick up any racial vibes from them. I’m also a black woman. I also would recommend them. P.S. He also told me if I have any issues or have any questions I am always welcomed to call an also if I need something with the nose ring to go by they were amazing. Thank you guys!!! Also very clean!!!

Fantastic experience: We took our 5 year old to get her ears pierced here today and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience/results. Johnny was our piercer and he did such an amazing job. He talked her through the process and was so kind to her! It helped calm any nerves she had. I highly recommend this place for parents looking to get their kids’ ears pierced. The price was well worth it for good jewelry, precision, and cleanliness. I got my nose double pierced while we were there and my experience was wonderful too! Also, have to shout out the wonderful receptionist (I didn’t catch her name), she was so friendly and helpful! She did a great job of hyping our daughter up.

Fantastic experience: Got my ears pierced by Johnny and they look great! He took extra time to make sure they were even and was very thorough in explaining how to care for the piercings afterwards. All the staff were very kind too. I'll definitely be coming back here for my next piercing!

Fantastic experience: BAM IS THE BEST! One of the BEST tattoo/piercing experiences I’ve ever had! Traveled from Georgia to see some friends and we decided we wanted to get matching tats - a very spontaneous decision. After looking at tattoo studios for hours, I decided to reach out to Bam to see if he had availability and would be willing. I messaged him on Friday evening and he said he could get us in the next day! Bam has such a friendly and kind soul which never wavered from entering the studio to leaving. Plus his work?? Phenomenal! Definitely look through his portfolio while you wait. Also - unsure of the piercers name (my fault) but he changed my septum and industrial for me! He was also SO kind and knowledgeable.
