Fantastic experience: This was my first time at Monique’s, and the experience was first rate. Everyone I interacted with was knowledgeable and very helpful. The owner, Billy, was extremely patient as I had lots of questions about my piercings and jewelry. He took the time to help me find the best pieces to match my vision and made me feel completely comfortable throughout the process. I’ll definitely return to Monique’s in the future for both piercing jewelry and any new piercings.

I spoke with Bella and she was literally the sweetest, most kindest human ever. She took the time to really listen to me and give me advice and I was so grateful!! Fantastic experience: We took my 5 month old daughter here to her ears pierced and as a first time girl dad, I was extremely nervous but the owner Billy took amazing care of us and not only gave my daughter her piercings without any issues, but was very empathetic to my nervousness and was able to help me feel confident and comfortable. There is absolutely no better place to take your kids for their first piercing.

Fantastic experience: JD does amazing work! He did a tattoo for me a few years ago, so when I wanted a very important one done, I immediately got ahold of him. He did not disappoint with this one!! The pawprint is exactly like my deceased pup's pawprint that was made just before she was cremated. This was a such an important memorial to my best friend, and JD totally nailed it! He was also very respectful and compassionate regarding my grief. I highly recommend JD and Monique's. The shop is super nice and super clean.

Fantastic experience: Came to Monique's a while ago to have Billy re-pierce another shop's crooked job. Other people told me the first piercing looked fine and to leave it, but it bothered me. Billy actually listened to me and saw what I was seeing, explained how he was going to fix it, and now it's perfect. I'll definitely go back to him if I want anything else done.

Fantastic experience: This is the only place to go for piercings and tattoos. I have 3 daughters and brought each of them here at 15 when they asked for belly button piercings and the oldest two have both had tattoos done here. I've even had 2 piercings here, the one to help with migraine headaches, twice. I also got the inside of my wrist tattooed. Billy and his entire staff are so professional, the parlor is spotless but also decorated really fun! We've been customers for over 20 years and wouldn't think of going anywhere else.

If you're looking for a professional, knowledgeable, friendly, warm, consistent, and sterile environment, all while you feel as if you're sitting at home, Moniques is the right place for you.

Negative experience: READ BEFORE GOING: If you’re a teenage/young adult female, do not go to Monique’s. I’ve gone twice for two different piercings and both times Billy (the piercer) was very creepy towards me. The first time I went I was 18, 2nd time 19. He made some very uncomfortable comments and one time he was basically sitting on my knee (my knee was inbetween his legs in a very odd way) which was quite uncomfortable for me because he is a man, put two and two together there. I’ve had multiple friends go there with extremely similar experiences. He also made creepy comments when I came here with my ex boyfriend awhile ago.

Fantastic experience: I came into Monique’s as a walk in to get my 3rd loves pierced and swap out jewelry in my rook. My piercer was Shayna and she was incredible. I was tossing around the idea of also getting my conch but was so scared of the pain. I talked with Shayna about it and she educated me on the pain levels but at the same time was never pushy about it. I ended up getting it also and am so happy I did. It has the cutest piece of jewelry in it and I’m obsessed with how it all came together. I then had to message her a question about it and she got right back to me! One of the balls to my piercing had fallen off the same day that I got the piercing and I went back the next day and he was able to put another one back on without any issues.

Fantastic experience: This establishment is different from most other body modification places ive experienced simply due to how welcoming everyone is. Some shops Ive personally experienced in the past wernt as hospitable. Moniques is family owned and incredibly inviting. The space is well maintained and clean. The jewelry selection is one of the best in the area with super cute options that include GOLD (upgrade) as well. Which is awesome if you prefer gold. The staff is calm, professional, and knowledgeable. Ive had 3 piercing so far (conch, trag, flat) and they all healed perfect and zero issues with jewelry quality. I have and will continue to recommend Moniques to friends and family.

Fantastic experience: I took my daughter to get her ears pierced & we specifically went here to see Billy. From the time we walked in until we left we had a great experience. The front desk helped us pick out earrings. And Billy was great, he was so knowledgeable and walked us through the care & the process of what he was doing. He was also great with our baby. 10/10 would go here again, and would suggest anyone looking to get their infants ears pierced to go to Billy. He made us feel less stressed out about the process and comfortable. He also switched out some of my ear rings & again he was quick, friendly and personable.

Positive experience: I was hesitant to leave a review, but I hope it helps another parent. I brought my excited but nervous 6-year-old in to get her ears pierced due to Billy being highly recommended. The front desk staff wasn’t rude, but offered minimal interaction—which felt a bit odd, especially for a nervous child in a tattoo shop setting. My daughter initially decided not to go through with it after talking with just the front desk girl. Once we got home, she changed her mind and we returned later. The piercer was kind and very patient (really, this review in no way reflects negatively on her). When my daughter hesitated after seeing the needle, there was some back and forth to see what she wanted to do. During this time, the front desk worker came back and mouthed "she's not ready"—which felt unnecessary and unhelpful as we had 2 adults in the room who were capable of working through that in the best interest of my child and in the best interest of what the piercer felt comfortable with at this point. We had been referred specifically to Billy (who seems to be the go-to for kid piercings based on reviews), and I regret not waiting for him. I can’t say for sure that it would’ve made a difference, but based on the reviews maybe it would have at least felt less awkward? I’m not quite sure if that’s the right word… Going into this, I didn’t know how my daughter would react once it came time—she was genuinely excited, though she doesn’t like needles. Normally, if she commits to something, she follows through. This just didn’t feel like the right environment to take a kiddo to and “see how it goes” and I regret this was the experience she will think about when deciding if/when she wants to try again. All this to say, if you have a kiddo and are scrolling through reviews as I was a couple days ago…give yourself your best shot and wait for Billy.

Fantastic experience: I don’t typically leave reviews; however, we had a great piercing experience. Billy if I recall his name correctly was SPOT on with placement of our helix and septum piercings. Can’t attest to tattoos as we’ve not had any there, but may change that soon. Definitely would recommend checking out though for sure.

Fantastic experience: Billy is an amazing piercer and definitely a people’s person! I got my nose piercing a couple months ago with Billy then had it fall out overnight. I called the shop the moment they opened and was told to come in no questions asked that I would be helped out, even with an irritation bump. Entering the shop, and greeted by Billy to then get started on putting the piercing back in. He adjusted the jewelry to fit and not disturb the bump until it heals and gave tips to make it go away. Definitely felt like I wasn’t just a customer but actually helped and acknowledged to have a healthy piercing. Will be going back for more piercings soon

Fantastic experience: We came here for my daughters first ear piercing, I called ahead of time and Billy was very helpful, he recommended we get 5% lidocaine to put on her ears at least an hour before coming in to help with any potential pain. The shop was tidy, beautiful, and inviting. Those working were polite and helpful. I really appreciated that they had someone already there to sign for an affidavit since my daughter is a minor. Billy did a fantastic job doing the piercing, my daughter said it didn't even hurt! I also appreciated the helpfulness for aftercare. I would highly recommend coming here.

Fantastic experience: Went in as a Walk-in right when they opened around 12:30 got piercings with a friend! We signed our papers, picked out jewelry and Shay did us both. She was so kind, patient with me as I wasn’t sure if I wanted to change my placement or not. But we weee in and out, super happy and will be asking for Shay next time!

Fantastic experience: Extremely happy with the tattoo Grace did on my ribs. This my first tattoo and I was extremely anxious however she recommend numbing cream beforehand and talked through it to ensure I was comfortable. Additionally, she gave me her phone number and was easy to reach for any follow up questions. Happy with the outcome!

Fantastic experience: After much research we decided to see Billy for my daughter’s first ear piercing. We had waited until she was old enough to make the decision and to follow the post care instructions. She was excited but really nervous. Billy did a great job of encouraging her and coaching her through the process. It was such a positive experience and one my daughter will remember for years to come. Fantastic experience: I went to Monique's for a tattoo to memorialize a vacation my son, his girlfriend and I took to Clearwater last week. We went to see 3 Phillies spring training games. We each got a palm tree and I got the Phillies logo next to it. JD was wonderful...I gave him a rough idea and he designed the perfect tattoo for me. I would highly recommend JD as the perfect tattoo artist!

Fantastic experience: ive been here probably three times now. twice for simply a change of jewelry & once to get both sides of my nose pierced. & i must say the staff especially i believe the owner (i didnt catch his name unfortunately) is amazing. he’s super sweet & patient. i was trying to decided on the jewelry i wanted for my nose & he was super patient & showed me all the options i had. the jewelry is also very nice quality! he changed my jewelry for me as well & also was also helpful with telling me how to get rid of the little bump i had on my nose. i always recommend my friends to come here when theyre looking for a new piercing/jewelry. looking forward to coming back to get a chain for my noise piercings!

Fantastic experience: I went to have my Daith pierced on both ears for chronic migraines after trying everything including Botox treatments, with minimal results. After discussing it with my neurologist, & others who’ve had it done, I decided it couldn’t hurt to try it. Billy answered my questions, and put me at ease. He’s very knowledgeable, professional. Clean, & sanitary. I went in to have it done with a migraine. After the initial discomfort of the piercing wore off… my migraine was gone!!! So far I’m migraine free for 36 hours now which is huge for me. Fantastic experience: We brought our infant daughter in to get her ears pierced by Billy. We almost went to another shop until we saw how highly recommended he was in several Mom Facebook groups. For once, those Facebook groups were actually right! The entire shop, piercing room, and his procedures were very clean and sanitary. He was very quick with the piercing and putting the jewelry in. He waited patiently while we calmed her down in between ears and we never felt rushed. I had a question about the piercing the next day and he was extremely helpful! Billy is very professional and I can’t recommend him enough!

Fantastic experience: Just had my daughter's ears pierced today... She's 6 months old & Billy did an amazing job! He was very fast and thorough on explaining everything. Very friendly staff & every clean inside. You can tell he specializes in doing baby piercings. Very pleased with the result.

Fantastic experience: I am writing this review to share the remarkable experience I had at Moniques Body Art in Clearwater. Please read this somewhat lengthy review as there is a very special and rather unique ending. Twenty years ago, I had my naval pierced at this location. I did not tell my husband about my piercing plan, so when I returned home and told him what I had done, he actually grimaced! But once I showed him, he absolutely LOVED it! However, years later, I had to remove the jewelry due to surgery and the pierced hole closed up. Occasionally, over the years, my husband would suggest that I return to Moniques and have my naval re-pierced. Finally, a few months before our 30th wedding anniversary, he asked me again to have my naval pierced and to replicate the original jewelry piece that had a diamond at the top of the gold bar, and a ruby at the bottom. I promised him that I would do so after our 30th anniversary trip to Italy. Unfortunately, he became very ill while we were in Italy and he passed away a month after our return home. To honor my husband, the true love of my life, I decided I would keep my promise to him and have my naval pierced again. I went to see Billy, the owner of Moniques. He patiently listened to my many stories about my husband, and let me relive and share my memories. Billy understood how very important this piece of jewelry would be and he took great care to craft a masterpiece! Just as with the original jewelry from 20 years ago, there was a diamond at the top and a ruby at the bottom, but what made this truly special is that he placed some of my husband’s ashes beneath each stone and the gold bar was made from my husband’s wedding ring! Billy was so sweet and understood the sentiment...once he inserted the jewelry in my naval, he looked up towards the sky and said “this is for you, Michael” and saw my tears, and gave me a hug. This was a moment I will never forget. I now have a part of my husband in this piece of jewelry that will never leave my body. I thank Billy from the bottom of my heart.

Fantastic experience: I have never gotten my nose pierced and the lady who did mine was the nicest, told me what she was gonna do, clean professional, and fast, it was over all a great experience! Two years later I went back and re-pierced my nose here they were so great the first time and great the second time as well! Went back again in 2024 to get my third hole done with my friend who got her helix done was lovely as always

Fantastic experience: I got my daith pierced by Shay today and I can’t say enough good things about her and this shop! This was a painful piercing and I wasn’t feeling well after but she took SUCH good care of me. I will recommend her to anyone now because of how kind she was and how clean the shop is.

Fantastic experience: This place was highly recommended from the facebook mom groups for baby ear piercings! It is obviously a nerve-wracking experience to pierce your baby's ears, but Billy is AMAZING. You can tell that he has experience with this and enjoys what he does! Billy explained everything to us and guided us through the process. He guided my husband on ways to hold the baby during the piercings and it was super helpful. The process was quick. It took approximately ten minutes. I highly highly recommend Billy. He knows what he is doing!!

Fantastic experience: By far, the best place to go for your tattoos. JD is very skilled and was able to create a beautiful piece for me. Fantastic experience: Came here to get a matching tattoo with my best friend. Artist was very funny and made the whole experience overall enjoyable even though it was my first time getting a tattoo. Did a wonderful job and vibes were definitely good in the shop!

Fantastic experience: I kept hearing that this was the best place in Tampa Bay for babies to get their ears pierced. So we drove all the way from Wesley Chapel to Clearwater to take my 7 month old daughter to get her ears pierced. Billy was amazing! He’s so good with handling the little ones and does everything super quick. He did a great job and although our baby did cry, it wasn’t for long and nowhere as near as bad as I was expecting. As a tattoo artist myself I’m impressed that they were very professional and clean. Price was also fair and they can notarize there for the consent form required by the state for minors. Highly recommend to all parents as a great place to go for piercings. Just a heads up: They said it’s best to pierce baby’s ears from 3-8 months old and after that it’s not recommended until 6yo since babies after 8-9 months can mess with their ears and get them infected or pull them out, or just refuse to get the other side done. Our baby was a good age for it and did great, but I wish I would have went a bit sooner around 4 months before teething got bad. Highly recommend getting it over with sooner if you’re going to do it.

Fantastic experience: Had my daughter’s ears done today 4/10/24, as it was her 8 month old birthday. Billy was great! We drove all the way from Pasco County and I’m sure glad we did. Very professional! Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: The only place we will go for piercings. Billy is amazing! We have had other piercers and let me tell you what Billy is the best! If you can get him to pierce you you need to! I got a conch piercing and my daughter got a tragus piercing in both ears today. Zero pain-free! And ask for the upgraded heads on them!!!! All of her other piercings except for her bottom and triple lobe have been done by him

Negative experience: My family and I were on vacation in Clearwater visiting our aunt. We decided we wanted a little memorable tattoo and our seconds for our ears pierced. We called Monique’s and they stated they could do tattoos on the 3 of us. My sister is only 16, they said they have notary there. We were very excited. When we walked in we were greeted by a girl at the front counter, she had called over for one of the tattoo artist, who was just sitting on the couch. He came over to talk to us. We said that we just wanted a little tattoo. He asked how big and I showed him. His response “that’s a little bit bigger than little”. (Below is about how big we wanted our little heart tattoo) I was not impressed with the attitude given. He then asked where we wanted them. My sister and I wanted them on our sides by our ribs. He looked at us and shook his head no, then proceeded to look at my sister and ask if it was her first tattoo which it was. He told her “that is the most sensitive spot for a tattoo.” Which may be true, but plenty of people get their first tattoos there with no problem especially with it being so little. He said he didn’t feel comfortable tattooing a 16 year old in that area. Which is also fine. Overall the guy was very rude and we were thankful he ended up saying no. I highly recommend not going to this tattoo shop as he was very rude.

Fantastic experience: My son, sister, niece and I walked in to this place to all get tattoos. We were greeted and helped by Sam, she was welcoming and knowledgeable. 4 people walking in to a place with 3 of us never having tattoos can be overwhelming. She did not seem overwhelmed at all! Billy the tattoo artist did all of our tattoos back to back and we all had a great experience and love our tattoos! Great Vibe…everyone was super friendly!! Fantastic experience: went in yesterday to get my back dermals pierced. it was great! Billy is the name of the man who took care of me. He was very professional and kind. he took all my nerves away. I could tell he has a lot of experience in this field. I was recommended to him by my friend and i am so glad that I listened. his sense of humor is also fantastic. if you want back dermals definitely go see Billy!! The piercing was intense but quick! he provided instructions on how to take of them as well.
