Fantastic experience: Great tattoo shop! Absolutely love my new tattoo

Negative experience: I wish I’d listened to the bad reviews, but I honestly thought it wouldn’t happen to me... I got two lobe piercings and one cartilage piercing, and two of them were BADLY crooked. The piercer acknowledged it but treated it like it wasn’t a big deal and told me to come back later if I wanted them removed. One of the piercings became infected, and from the very beginning it was in constant, throbbing pain - I had to take painkillers just to cope. The angle was obviously wrong and the piercer clearly isn't educated on the anatomy. I had to go back multiple times, and when the cartilage one was finally removed, it was extremely painful. They use externally threaded jewellery - this is outdated and a major red flag. Cheap stuff that no reputable piercer ever uses. In the end, I paid a lot and ended up with only one usable lobe out of three piercings. I had the others redone elsewhere, and the difference was night and day - clean, no weird convos and comments, and my piercing isn't in pain and healing properly with no issues at all. Very frustrating experience. I don't recommend it if you care about your health, comfort, and money.

Negative experience: I went to metal urges to get my eyebrow pierced back in june, before even getting the eyebrow piercing i went into the shop in person to book it. The man behind the counter asked me if i had any piercings he couldn't see (id like to mention i had just turned 18 and had said prior) He also then proceeded to show me how they use 'ai' to generate tattoo designs, seriously how can you call yourself a tattoo "artist" if you are using ai to generate tattoos!! When i went in to get the actual piercing, it was a different man piercing me. I was wearing a skirt and he told me to put my jacket over my lap so i wouldn't accidentally flash him which i thought was very respectful of him, until he made the comment that he didn't want "any naughty surprises." Would like to get a piercing without any weird or creepy comments! Strangers do not need to know if i have any "hidden piercings."

Fantastic experience: Lovely time getting my ear pierced and a last minute nose piercing. I didn't catch the piercers name, but he was very patient and helped me calm my fear of needles. He did a lovely job through and through. I will definitely be back

Fantastic experience: From start to finish just a great experience. The owners brother ( didn’t get his name ) was so welcoming and friendly. The place itself has just a clean air to it the second you walk in and is spotless. Martin couldn’t have been more nicer just done everything I wanted and more on my tattoo, my tattoo was really meaningful for me and he just done everything to absolute perfection. He’s a gentleman and so talented, already thinking about my next tattoo! Would highly recommend.

Negative experience: I went into metal urges around August 2021 to get my first ever piercing and it was my nostril. when i first went in with my mom i was brought to the back and the girl, who i dont know the name of, started prepping everything and not being very welcoming. She didn’t tell me she was getting ready to put the needle through and just kind of went for it with no warning. She was beyond rough so as my initial reaction i jumped back with the fright as well as it being very painful (keep in mind this was my first ever piercing at 14) she got very very angry with me for “wasting” a needle of hers. I got very faint as i am anemic and no empathy was shown what so ever, i got told to lay down as i was about to faint and as i was just starting to feel better i heard her chatting with another worker saying that shes annoyed that i wasted her needle and proceeded to go out to the waiting area and told my mom in a rude manner that “she needs to pay extra for the wasted needle” and that she “shouldn’t have brought me if i wasn’t ready”Which my mom had no problem doing so i decided i was not going to go through with the piercing on that day. That is why i DO NOT recommend this place as it has no sense of respect for anyone or any customer service skills. Around August 2023 i went back to this place inquiring about a septum piercing to see if i had the right anatomy so i could get it done in another shop. Martin refused to check my anatomy even though i had explained i did not want him or anyone in that shop to pierce me. He explained to me he used to have a septum when he was “young and dumb” like me, as he said. Then went into this whole story about why i should not get it pierced. He refused to check my anatomy as he was “uncomfortable” piercing a septum. I think it was unprofessional he brought his personal life into my service as well as being a peircer and refusing to even check my anatomy, which is his job. This is why i really really do not recommend ANYONE to go here as you will not get the respect or the best service they need to provide for you.

Negative experience: There's a man inside (couldn't be bothered to find his name) who recently, blatantly fat shamed my friend when she inquired about a belly button piercing, making comments like "fat rolls" and how she "can train but it's 'wishful thinking' ". I understand maybe it wasn't possible to get the piercing but the rude comments made were just appalling.. Not to mention his comment about his OWN DAUGHTER being "on the bigger side" and told my friend that she was "like your build". He then said about my friends having her lip pierced (she doesn't it was a spot no big deal) but the fact he pointed it out was unnecessary. I've gotten a few piercings myself inside there and I have to say their customer service is laughable. No regard for common decency whatsoever. The staff is rude and unwelcoming and they make you feel like you're intruding rather than getting a service provided.

Negative experience: Absolutely appalling service! If I could rate 0 or negative stars I would. My sister was discriminated for her service animal. I reached out weeks before because I was traveling out of country for my birthday. Martin said he had available time for my sister and l; and I let him know my sister had a service animal. When we arrived at the studio his assistant just stared at my sister's service animal (Goose) "like what are you doing here...?" We told him we were here for an appointment. The assistant was hesitant but went to get Martin. When Martin came from the back he looked at Goose and said "she's not allowed" My sister let him know she is a service animal. He flat out said "I can take you one at a time but Goose can't come in the back." We politely let him know because she's a service animal she has to stay with my sister. He said "shes a dog and we have a sterile room she can't be back there." My sister let him know she has to stay with her and she's been with her for all her other tattoos. Martin said "Other people might allow it but I don't, why can't she sit with you whille I tattoo your sister?" I told him "she is her service animal not mine." He finally said "I'll call the boss." When he came back he said the boss said "Yes" but he was very begrudgingly about the whole situation and rude to us. My sister got hers done first and then he said she had to leave while I got mine done...The whole reason I made the apt was for my birthday which it was that day! I planned for my sister and I to get tattoos together and I had to be alone for mine. He was very rough and rushed both of us; the tattoos aren't well done, and we both need touch ups.

Fantastic experience: just got my helix and third piercings on my lobes done and the experience was great. clean studio, the piercer was nice and extremely knowledgeable and fairly painless process overall. I previously got my nose pierced here as well as my first and only tattoo and the process has always been great. I definitely recommend this studio!

Fantastic experience: Lovely experience! Very clean, sterile environment. Staff were welcoming and professional. Couldn’t find the social media of the man who pierced my sister and I today, so I can’t name him, but he did a damn great job! Great guy too. Gave amazing advice regarding my current piercings. Have had a few piercings done here and they all healed perfectly with little to no issues. Will definitely come again!

Negative experience: Bad service. Wanted a 5x3cm tattoo on neck. Considering im 8years past over age. They said they wouldnt tattoo my neck. Then thought about doing on hand instead just because they wouldnt commit in doing on neck (i also have hand tattoos), Martin refused to do it and opted to suggest do it on my arm (where i already have tattoo in mind) or nothing. Got given deposit and basically told to get out of there. Would NOT recommend.

Fantastic experience: Had to re-write this review as my first one got taken down, but I've only ever had pleasant experiences at Metal Urges. I've had piercings and tattoos there, and I have been completely satisfied with both services. Really glad there's a reputable body mod shop here in Tralee.

Fantastic experience: I have never met a piercing professional who knows more about what's happening at a molecular level during and after a piercing, than the man who did my piercings yesterday. As a Molecular biologist, it was a much welcomed surprise. Very professional and I felt welcomed. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: Staff in shop were really welcoming I walked in that day to make an appointment and the staff were more than welcome to accommodate and while the process was happening he explained everything he was doing and what had to be done for after care was well worth going in here for highly recommended

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this tattoo/piercing studio❗️I’ve gotten a few piercings in this studio over the past few years My first piercing I got at metal urges was my tragus which I got on my right ear in September of 2017, then in January of 2018 I got my rook done on my left ear, Then in July of 2018 I got my third ear lobes re-pierced as I had them done in another place and unfortunately the earring had to be taken out as it had submerged into my ear also in July 2018 I had my front helix pierced on my right ear After getting my front-helix pierced I decided to give my ears a chance to fully heal The pictures do the piercings no justice but believe me I love every single one of them and if it wasn’t for metal urges my obsession wouldn’t have grown

Negative experience: Where is Martin I have never left a place feeling so degraded and talked down to and artists who do not want to listen just shoot you down. Have had work done there before with Martin and would have recommended it but sadly did not meet him the last time I went with my friend and it was one of the most humiliating experiences I have had. Afraid Metal urges has turned from a big thumbs up to a major thumbs down

We were refused based on her petiteness! while we were disappointed having driven all the way to Tralee and have since got it done elsewhere, I think their level of integrity and care for clients over profit deserve 5 stars.

Negative experience: Do not recommend getting piercings here . First of all it’s expensive. Secondly the people who pierce the ears are not one bit gentle. Thirdly- I got three cartilage piercings, one last October and then two more in January. My whole ear or red because they are not healing. I have tired a bunch of different medicines and methods of cleaning them, nothing works. Today I decided to take the piercings out and let the holes heal up. My mom also got two piercings because they didn’t heal she took them out. I won’t be ever going back there again! It is not worthy getting piercings here, go somewhere else.

Einen Nachmittag (17.04.19) sind wir spontan zu zweit in Metal urges reingeschneit und bekamen jeder direkt ein klassisches shamrock auf den Unterarm. Mega netter und witziger Tattoo artist.
