Fantastic experience: Had a piercing with David Angeles and it was just a great experience. David allows you plenty of time and explained everything throughout. Consent is clearly super important and I felt like my safety and feelings mattered throughout. I was made to feel confident saying if something was uncomfortable and the whole experience was topped off with great conversations and laughter. Jewellery pricing is as you'd expert for top quality brand and well worth the investment.

Fantastic experience: Had my eyebrow pierced by David yesterday, very professional and talked me through the whole piercing process, as well as the healing afterwards. Was very friendly and made me feel comfortable immediately. I would definitely recommend coming here for a piercing, it's the best place I've been to by far.

Fantastic experience: I was pierced by David today and had a really great experience. David talked through what was going to happen and aftercare. He asked for consent to touch me before preparing for and doing the piercing and was very reassuring. David was very transparent about the costs involved before the piercing happened and I was given plenty of time to decide on the jewellery and costs before deciding, without any pressure at all. I would really recommend David as a piercer, and want to thank him for such a positive experience.

Positive experience: i booked and was not shown the prices, and then when i got there and found out it was a ridiculous price to ask i tried to cancel but they wouldn’t give me my deposit. 55 whole great british pounds and they kept it a secret. disappointed to say the least. but still nice so 4 stars. good evening

Fantastic experience: I absolutely can't say enough good things for David and the experience I had today. Went in to have both nipples pierced and I didn't realise the level of service that could be achieved. I felt safe, listened to, respected and that I was in the very best hands I could be throughout. David took what was quite a nerve wracking experience and made it genuinely a pleasure. I will not go anywhere else from here on, end of story.

Fantastic experience: I had my ears pierced with David recently and would highly recommend him. It is my second piercing with him having had my tummy button done a few years ago. He gives excellent advice and guidance as well as after care instructions that are simple to follow. My piercings have both healed very well. The jewellery that he offers is beautiful. Difficult to choose which was my favourite. Loved them all. I wouldn’t go anywhere else now for piercings or jewellery. He has also in the past helped out friends and family who have had problems with piercings done in other studios. Nothing is too much trouble for him. Goes above and beyond.

Fantastic experience: David is a consummate professional who has always been an absolute joy to deal with for piercings and jewellery, I always feel like I'm in safe hands and like I'm actually being listened to when I'm describing what I'd like. Jewellery is best on the market as well so many good brands of well made stuff to choose from!

Negative experience: Really professional and kind. But the prices of jewellery being really dear, and all being behind a secret paywall; as well as a cancellation fee if I decided to not go through with it made it feel like entrapment

Fantastic experience: * Review for both Talisman Tattoo and Angeles Piercing* - Angeles Piercing - I have had a couple of piercings with David, and wanted to leave a long overdue review. The studio is spotless, there is a thorough consent process, and all equipment is decontaminated professionally in front of you. David is personable, friendly, and obviously skilled at his job. Plus, his Instagram is a mix of hilarious and very informative. Appointments are easy to book, for both piercing and downsizing. I have also popped in previously after managing to pull an ear piercing out removing a helmet - and David was able to clean and replace it there and then. The jewellery available is absolutely stunning. It's not the cheapest, but it's clearly good quality. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending David for piercing (ear and intimate piercing in Plymouth). - Talisman Tattoo - I have had two tattoos here, with Rebecca and Robin. Both have healed well with no issues. Again, the studio is clean. It's a cosy space, with lots of greenery! Because of the cosiness, unfortunately only the person being tattooed can be upstairs, but not a problem if you don't need a hand to hold. Both times the process was explained clearly, time was taken to listen to what I wanted and draw up designs.There are also a wide selection of drawings from all the tattooists available in books downstairs. Prices are fair (in my opinion) and clearly explained. I would recommend Talisman Tattoo for anyone thinking of getting a tattoo in Plymouth!

Negative experience: This review was difficult to write because David seemed like a lovely guy during the appointment, and based on my limited knowledge, I believe he is skilled. My piercings healed well. However, I went alone for my first piercing and didn’t know how to advocate for myself. I feel that he took advantage of that. Prices were not displayed anywhere and were only revealed after I had already chosen my jewellery. I didn’t really know what I was doing and chose pieces purely based on how they looked. I realize I should have asked more questions, but I also think he should have been upfront about pricing. When I was finally told the cost, it felt like an afterthought after a lot of information was given about the jewellery. At that point, I felt pressured to accept the price even though it was far above my budget. This placed a serious financial burden on me. In the days after the piercing, the jewellery caused significant pain because of its unusual shape catching on things. I was not warned this might happen. It affected me so much that I was unable to sleep for three days. I eventually changed the earrings for smaller ones from another piercer, and the pain almost completely stopped. Several other piercers have been surprised by some of the advice David gave me, saying it was overly cautious. This included that downsizing was a necessity, I should not wear anything over my ears for six months, and I should avoid dangly earrings for two years after the piercing. After talking to friends, I learned I am not alone in being upsold by David. At least one other person had a very similar experience. I also want to clarify a misconception I had about UKAPP accreditation. I thought it was an official license for ethical piercing, but it is not. It is an organization that accredits piercers who align with their values of safe physical piercing practice. Membership is by application, so not being part of UKAPP does not automatically mean a piercer is unsafe. Also, being UKAPP-accredited does not prevent upselling. I have heard that upselling might even be encouraged in some circles. I am not trying to harm David’s business by posting this review. I trusted him and felt conflicted because of the many good reviews I had seen. I want to share my experience and clear up some misconceptions so that others can go in with more knowledge and confidence than I had. I believe that with the right knowledge and confidence, David is an excellent piercer. It is just that I did not know what I was doing. Getting pierced by David caused me to lose confidence in that piercing and in the industry as a whole. Maybe that is my fault, but I hope no one else has to go through the same experience.

Fantastic experience: I've had a couple of tattoos here with Rebecca. The studio is small but everyone is friendly. It doesn't have that mega disinfectant smell some places have, despite being clean (of course!). And the music isn't intense. I'll be back and plan to get some work from other artists.

Fantastic experience: I went today to have my ear pierced and for my daughter to have her lobe consult before she decided if she wanted her ear piercers , was greeted by the lovely David who helped put my daughter who can be very anxious at ease. Megan talked her through her piercing she was so lovely and kind and her accent is wonderfully melodic and put me at ease. She was extremely prodessional kind and helped me choose the perfect jewellery and placement. I left feeling happy and so pleased with my piercing.

Fantastic experience: I have been to David for my piercings numerous times now and today was another exceptional experience! David instantly puts you at ease and is incredibly professional! He talks you through everything in enough detail that you are well informed but not too much that your overwhelmed. After wanting an intimate piercing for a number of years I finally mustered up the courage to get two!!! I was incredibly nervous but he made the whole experience as comfortable as possible! The jewellery he has on offer is absolutely stunning and such great quality! 11/10

Fantastic experience: Had my cheeks pierced by David today and it was a great experience from start to finish. Although I've been thinking of getting these piercings for almost 15 years I was still very nervous as I'm quite a shy person but David explained the whole process thoroughly from the actual piercing procedure to the aftercare and made me feel so at ease that the piercings were surprisingly easy and not as painful as expected. I am very happy I chose David for these piercings and would trust him fully for any other piercings I may want in the future. Even though it's over an hours drive from where I live to the studio (almost 2 on public transport!) I'd never go anywhere else now.

Fantastic experience: I had 2 piercings here by David, and he made the whole experience so positive, and really helped me feel comfortable by engaging in conversation and thoroughly explaining aftercare and what was going on during the piercing, he’s also been great with follow up appointments after my piercings to solve any issues and make sure they’re healing nicely. Fantastic experience: I had a “get what you get” tattoo service whereby you use a gumball machine to pick your design and I’m so glad I went for it! Stevie is fantastic, really tentative and asked plenty of questions to ensure I was completely happy. I’m so pleased with my tattoo! Fantastic experience: I have been to David for (stunning) jewellery several times and he’s helped me with piercings from other shops that haven’t healed. Yesterday he pierced my daughter’s ears. He explained everything carefully, without talking down to her and made sure that she felt safe and comfortable at every stage. He really considered her needs and showed her the care and patience we would all like to receive. Thank you David, you’re an excellent human!

Fantastic experience: I was really nervous getting my nose pierced, but David made me feel really comfortable by letting my boyfriend join me in the room, engaging in conversation and even telling me some of his funny piercing experiences! You can tell he loves what he does and also helped me pick out a beautiful piece of jewellery. Best piercing experience I’ve had!

Negative experience: Avoid ! / funny how you has so much to say now after you asked me to not contact the studio ever again and suggesting that tattoo artists who are not working in your studio are not talented. Very poor customer service - my review is based on this, not the price of £50 for a two lines on a thumb lol pricing and making a fool of people oh yeah, that’s the second that I reviewed on. People really needs to go elsewhere as there is no respect to other human being in „talisman tattoo”. Whoever I was dealing with , this person was very arrogant, abusing and disrespectful. And arguing here in the comments only proves this.

Fantastic experience: I have been visiting David (Ángeles piercing) for a couple of years now and he has done many piercings for me and downsizes. He allows for an hour time slot for each appointment so you don’t feel rushed and are very well informed. I also have a very low pain tolerance despite my huge love for piercings, but I always feel so welcomed and made to feel comfortable and relaxed. I have over 20 piercings over the years done at different locations and David at Talisman is by far the best I have ever used and I couldn’t recommend anywhere better!

Fantastic experience: I have visited David on three occasions for piercings and resize. I adore my stacked lobe. He was even happy to provide some advice and guidance on a piercing I had stupidly and spontaneously had done at another mainstream shop when I was concerned about the placement and healing. I would highly recommend David. I will absolutely return for future piercings I have planned. He is just a generally nice bloke and his passion for his job is evident. As a mother of two daughters, who will one day ask for their ears pierced, I wont trust anyone else to do it. The studio is a relaxed and friendly place.

Fantastic experience: I wanted my nose pierced but was super nervous. Having something like a piercing is a big thing and you want to know you're choosing the best place. Being a nearly 40yo means you've heard and read lots of bad reviews! I decided to see David after reading his brilliant Google reviews to get some info and my goodness he knew his stuff. I felt safe, informed and reassured through the whole process. David was a really down to earth guy and there was absolutely no pressure. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I went in for a nose piercing but not really sure on jewellery and without a massive budget, David was so helpful in helping me pick out a piece I loved but was still affordable. After a bad experience with a previous nose piercing, David made sure I was comfortable the entire time and explained every step of the piercing before he started. Fantastic experience: I had a forward helix piercing done by David after a substandard piercing from another Plymouth store (a well known chain!). The original piercing hadn’t even been done through the cartilage and within 6 weeks my ear was rejecting. David spent a good amount of time examining the piercing, and explaining to me what the problems were (wrong site, wrong angle, wrong jewellery), and the options that I could take. I decided to remove the original piercing and allow it to heal, then have a new forward helix piercing performed by David. BEST. DECISION. EVER!! The entire process was so different to the original one. I was invited to choose my final jewellery, rather than being told I had no choice other than colour. David talked me through the entire process, including all aspects of aftercare and downsizing, BEFORE he started the piercing. He was always available for all my aftercare questions with all the info I needed. Thanks to him, I now have THE most beautiful forward helix piercing which has healed beautifully and just looks perfect. It’s been a 7month journey to reach this point but worth every second. In every single appointment I’ve ever had with him, David always asks permission to touch before he makes any contact with my skin. I really value his respect for my body autonomy and I feel safe with him. I’m now planning another helix and a daith piercing with David and have complete confidence that they will be done in a professional way, to an exceptionally high standard. I would absolutely recommend to anyone considering a piercing, no matter how big or small, to contact Angeles Piercing. If my children ever want any, that’s where I will be taking them!

Fantastic experience: I would definitely recommend this piercing place as David is really lovely, professional and informative. Throughout the whole process, I felt really at ease as he explained every step and gave precise details on the aftercare. You can pick out your jewellery before the consultation, which has a really nice range that differs to other piercing shops. The cost of the jewellery is a little pricy, but it is really good quality and I understand that you get what you pay for, which is a professionally done piercing! Negative experience: Had a number of small tattoos done here in April. I was recommended to have Ricky do them for me I’ve had multiple issues with the tattoos including blown out lines , patchy results and the fact that the sizes aren’t similar on two mirror image tattoos. Complained to him direct got a reply then he stopped replying, I then messaged the owner was made an offer for a voucher even thou I live over 200 miles away to when I asked the value of the voucher I then heard nothing so will just end up getting these removed. Not good :(

Negative experience: Paid in full and waited 7 weeks for the appointment gave him the designs then at 9pm the night before I received an email saying he couldn't do exactly what I wanted and could only complete half the work and would require further sittings/payment for the remainder or the originally agreed work they did issue a refund but I've known other people have the same amount of work done at talisman for the same price There's plenty of other places saying they are willing to do the work exactly as I wanted in one sitting for a slightly cheaper price all of the other shops don't have good things to say about talisman tattoos

Fantastic experience: I got my nose piercing today, I was incredibly nervous beforehand however David was so calming and created a respectful environment where I felt relaxed. I was worried about my needle phobia but David was so understanding and made sure at every step that I was okay. The whole process has now got me excited for many more piercing in the future. Fantastic experience: Angeles Piercing is a wonderful place to get your piercings. I went in for two lobes and a helix piercing, both were done amazingly. The whole process was explained to me and I was reassured with the whole thing. David is very knowledgeable and can help you with any questions you have. About a month after my helix piercing, I had a panic as it was very swollen and causing a lot of pressure on the piercing. Luckily, I called David straight away and they got me in to lengthen my bar. They also gave me advice on what to do next and was really reassuring through the whole process which I am grateful for. My piercing is doing a lot better now. I would 100% recommend Angeles piercing to anyone looking for a new piercing!
